I think the most important thing is to keep examining your personal style. Some women get in a rut and just stick with what worked for them decades ago. We evolve and our lives and style needs change. When I realized my closet was full of bohemian clothing and it didn’t reflect who I am now, it occurred to me that I was just in the habit of dressing that way. I’ve been working on finding my new style and I am loving the journey.

Well I’m older, but these tips, minus the shorts, are all styles I wear. The blazer, fitted top, and skinny jeans or straight jeans, are my favorite feel good look. The midi dress, or knee covering dress is also a favorite. The balance tip is very important and a classic and classy way to dress. All are very important tips.. I appreciate your channel, it’s a refreshing change for older women that still dress stylish but tastefully. So many for my age are the dreaded frumpy... it does help to be thinnish and not overweight to carry off any style.

Great tips. I've heard that when someone wears clothing that is too tight then it makes them look like they gained weight. Also, when clothing is too loose then they look like they lost weight. Which is a good thing, however, it gives the impression that they used to be larger.

Lilly is so cute! I really don't have any fashion mistakes because I know my body. My waist is my trouble spot. So I know I can't wear anything tight around my waist. My arms and legs are my best features. So I wear V neck tshirts and a cardigan sweater with jeans. A cardigan, tshirt, and jeans are my vibe. Also with and without heels.

I have just recently started following you (well really watching you tube videos )and I love it! First, you look amazing! Just because we are in our 40's does NOT MEAN we need to retire our nice cute clothing. We just need to learn how to wear it in a different way. You are AMAZING at showing us how to do it. PLUS you add the classy look to it that i LOVE! Love the white button down w jeans. Back in the day, a trend was to wear it untucked w a suit and I still love that look. 2nd would be the white blazer. I have the most horrible luck w white though-seems like I get stains almost immediately. Great tips!

I love the white and black shirts with the Agolde jeans, those are my fave looks. I think these tips apply to everyone, not only older ladies. I would add, I never wear shorts with heels. I adore those cut-offs, but I prefer them with the flats.

A surprisingly large number of people also don’t realize that the loose stitching on pockets needs to be removed to use them. A frequent comment I hear is “the pockets aren’t functional”, when they don’t realize that this is just temporary stitching, like the stitch on the flap, so that the garment keeps it’s shape until it gets to the buyer.

I know the white button down is a basic and I do have one. However, I hardly ever wear it. I think I reach for the white button down maybe twice a year. I’m not sure why I don’t really like it 🤷‍♀️

Hi Heather, Great tips! My favorite look is the black slip dress (I loved the video you did with the same dress - styling it a number of ways). Shorts are my least favorite look for me - I find them uncomfortable and do not like how they look when I sit down. But they do look great on you. I've been guilty of glamming it in the makeup department but I do it for me and don't really think if it's age-appropriate or not. Been dying to get an army green jacket, I love the ones you showcased and I have a couple of them in my shopping cart. It really changes it up from go-to jean jacket. I’m in my early 40s and I have always hated wearing shorts! I think the last time I wore them I was in my 20s. Definitely prefer dresses and skirts. Great tips, but I think they are more fashion mistakes to avoid rather than things that age you except maybe the oversized clothing tip.

I was about to make the same comment. I live near TN/GA border & lived i. SW Fla almost 39 years. It’s only about 3 degrees cooler here in summer than south Fla. was - and it’s very humid here as well. I love the look of blazers, etc., but I can assure you, I fully understand why Southern belles were always fainting (not to mention the corsets and 10 pounds of clothing they wore).

I live in Mexico ( In a really hot place) and I have to say is all about (fabric/materials) cotton and linen are going to be your best friends, I have a rule of no buying anything that is polyester or not a breathable fabric if I am planing on wearing that in summer

All of your styles look fabulous! The new "thing" that I just cannot stand is the wide leg jeans that are wide through the entire leg, and then cut off shorter than I would ever wear a pair of looser pants. I saw you had a similar look that did look fantastic and I imagine you had them tailored to suit you? What do you think of the jeans I'm talking about? Anyone? Enjoyed the tips . Often we aren't our own best judge as to what is making us looked aged . I've always found over 40 women dressed like they're competing hard with their 17 year old daughter draws a lot of attention to the woman's age . I've seen some women in this age group that I actually have felt embarrassed for the way they were dressed BUT I guess they're feeling good about themselves .

Glad I found you! I’m 62 and have managed to keep my figure-wear a 25 jean too although I’ve been buying high waisted 26s for the boyfriend fit, which I’ve never word! Unfortunately, one of my feet hasn’t held up so would like some comfortable flat recommends. Gucci loafters I have but really aren’t that comfy...Also, I’m at the age where sleeveless is aging so I normally find summer things to cover arms. I live in a hot climate-was 105 today, so can’t wear jackets. Looking for sheer mesh that barely add warmth. Suggestions? Your style seems classic enough for all ages. I’m subbing!
