No, no, you’ve got it all wrong @4:36. Mazzagatti was *patting* him on the back, not smacking. He was telling him how excellent of a job he was doing in continuing the fight and never giving up, because you can never win enough.
@jhanks2012
@jhanks2012 2 жыл бұрын
in all seriousness, the fighter is fighting til he sees or feels the referee calling the fight, not until he feels the opponent's taps. if you look at how long it took him to respond to the referee's command i.e. the referee touching him, it only took like 1-2 seconds, which is well within what would be considered a normal response time especially with adrenaline running and being ultra focused on the fight at hand. he did not try to hold the submission hold longer than needed. it looks worse than it is because we can see the opponent tapping out for a second or two before the referee responds to the tap out. to further illustrate the point about human response times, notice how the time elapsed from the opponent's taps to the referee's response is just about equal to the time elapsed between the referee's command to the fighter to stop and the fighter actually stopping
@thedooktroops5608
@thedooktroops5608 2 жыл бұрын
@@jhanks2012 I 100% agree with you. We’ve all seen a few times where a fighter tapped but the ref didn’t see it, and the fight continued. It’s not the hold going on far too long after the tap I was poking fun at, it was good ol’ Steve just kinda hanging out in Fuckoffity Land and not stepping in sooner, in multiple cases.
@jhanks2012

@@thedooktroops5608 oh okay, it seems like the guy got a bad wrap and he's being accused of "breaking the rules" so i guess when i read your comment i read a little too much into it. yeah refs can't always see the tap and that's why the guy with the hold isn't supposed to stop when he feels the tap but when the ref calls it

Solid list!! Should've added Branko Cikatic; watch his Pride FC fight against Mark Kerr, Branko grabbed the ropes multiple times to avoid Kerr's takedown, then threw downward elbows right onto Kerr's head/neck/spine. He was rightfully DQ'd, guy was kinda crazy.

how about Herb Dean letting Usman give Masvidal some "super necessary" shots while he was on the ground out cold? did Usman paid him some couple of bucks to do it? how about Herb letting Tony take a monumental beatdown in the hands of Justin Gaethje? did Gaethje paid him just to legally kill Ferguson inside the UFC cage? Herb is a bad referee nowadays, it's just it.

Ron Faircloth purposely kicked Alesio Sakara in the balls on purpose. He tried to pull out of the fight after an injury when the cage door flew open on him as he was doing drills. The UFC said he wouldn’t get paid if he pulled out, even though it was their equipment that malfunctioned. He made his way through 1 round and went for the balls in the beginning of the 2nd. Sakara couldn’t recover from it, but at least they both got paid.
