Thank you, Dennis! In Jan. I was told I was pre-diabetic with an A1c of 6.6. I found your channel, and others like Dr Berg and took your advice, bought a glucose meter, and started to pay attention to my diet. The secret for me was to eat5 a large green salad for lunch every day, in addition to cutting out sugar and most carbs. This week my A1c was 5.4 and I lost 30 lbs. Wow. Also, I feel great, have no hip issues, have more energy and I eat better than I ever have!

I worked with a diabetic lady who did not watch her diet at all. She was overweight and took insulin daily. She told me she would rather die than not have a donut. I said……Teresa, there are things far worse than death. Blindness, kidney failure, strokes and heart disease and amputations. Now that I’m retired we have lost touch. I didn’t know about your channel then or I would have told her. You are wonderful. Thank you 🙏🏻 for everything you do.

Hi Dennis, three weeks ago, my sight was getting blurry and I decided to do something about it at long last and bought myself my own 'Mike the Meter' and it came through the post. I was apprehensive because I have had this problem for ten years and at an official medical to work abroad - it was as high as 10.5 but I did the finger prick and tested myself and I was 7.3 - OK, so not a progressive disease because it came down 3 points after losing 60 pounds and training and exercise but no real change in what I ate (though I started to do OMAD and intermittent fasting) so with the meter, I changed my diet, I now do IF within a six hour window with no starches and two meals a day between twelve and six after a hard workout. I am now as of this morning a 5.3 fasting and my blurry sight corrected itself within days. Your videos and channels are amazingly positive and it got me (as well as my dad insisting on me getting one when I told him about my blurry vision) to get my own 'Mike the Meter' and with all the information we freely have at hand about how to reverse this these days- I did not want to end up the stupidest blind amputee in the nursing home, I want to leave this planet on my feet and with my sight, I am amazed on how quick the turnaround was, it was like my body was pleading me to stop me drowning it in carbs and starches and it has responded magnificently to the new diet, thank you for your work.

Hi Dennis. I was diagnosed in Jan of this year as a diabetic with a A1C of 7.4. I did my research and cut off all carbs and in March reduced my A1C to 6.2. I was 180 lbs when I got diagnosed and lost 30 lbs in 2 months. I took another A1C 3 weeks after and my A1C dropped to 6.0. I found your videos which were informative and helped me with fasting and I implemented 2 meals a day and then to OMAD. As of last 2 weeks my A1C is 5.7. I still experience the dawn phenomenon. I just want to tell you I appreciate all the information you put out there to help others with this battle. I plan to reverse diabetes and I am almost there. I have lost a total of 35 lbs. 😊

Great video, and if you're new, watch it twice. I have convinced several of my friends that are diabetic to watch Dennis. One of them said this plan wouldn't work because it was way too simple. If you're a newbie, I hope you know what KISS means. Keeping it simple works the best. What do you eat if you're new and don't know what to do? Ham & eggs. Then go watch all the Beat Diabetes videos, and eventually you'll be able to take the training wheels off. KEEP IT SIMPLE.

Thank you, Dennis! I wanted to mention something that I recently added to my repertoire of “can have” things. It’s called egglife wraps, found refrigerated (near the shredded cheese in my supermarket). They are a mite pricey, but they don’t spike my glucose at all. I enjoy them for a quick sandwich or put my hamburger in one. Just to let this community know it’s out there. Coffee and cream spikes my sugar to over 150, so I am super insulin resistant and have to be super careful!

Thank You, Dennis, Six Months ago at 81 years of age, My blood work showed an A1C of 5.7. The doctor's nurse said I was prediabetic, and the doctor said you are doing fine. I knew better so I ordered your book of 60 Ways to beat diabetes. I viewed your channel as well as Dr Sten Ecburg's channel. Now six months later. my A!C is 4.6. My fasting blood sugar went from 108 to 80. My weight went from 252 pounds to 196, and I was taking two blood pressure medications. I had to drop one due to low blood pressure side effects. I carefully monitor my blood pressure daily and the readings are all normal. My friends ask me what my weight loss goal is, and I tell them I will continue my new eating and exercise habits. and God will set that goal.. I suspect my weight will stabilize between 170 and 180 pounds in the healthy BMI range for my height. Again, thank you, and God Bless, Rick

Now I am trying to turn it all around with losing weight, trying to get the blood glucose to come down. Right now I am at 250 and sometimes in the 300 readings and this is not good. I listen to you and there are so many better foods I can eat and bring down the high sugar along with losing some weight. I appreciate the wisdom you and your wife share, it is clearly helping me. Nothing can compare to the taste of a good Hispanic corn and flour tortilla. I rather avoid them. I have to try the lupin; I bought the flour already and see if it makes a difference to con-cot some tacos and quesadillas (I know a cannot expect them to be equal, but at least edible and usable). As a good Hispanic, I was raised on them. I am not too much on sugars and never overdid the extra sweet stuff, but my traditions are suffering a bit when it comes to tortillas, rice and bean. Dr Ben Bickman mentions that if your blood glucose level is much lower than what the A1c says it could be because your the A1c measures the amount of hemoglobin in red blood cells that are glycated. But if the person is becoming healthier their red blood cells may be living longer, leading to a higher number being glycated. In conclusion, the most relevant number is the direct measure of blood glucose levels and do it several times a day: after waking up, before every meal, 1 or 2 hrs after every meal and take the daily average. A1c is an indirect measurement of blood glucose and other factors affect it

Seed oil is high in linoleic acid which is extremely inflammatory. The problem with seed oil is not that they raise the blood glucose directly, but that it increases inflammation in the body which in turn raises blood glucose

I was 75 years old when I started IF and LCHF. Your channel has been a real pleasure for me. I hear a lot of people complain about how hard it is to eat out because they don't know what to order I have found that it is a sure bet that a chef's salad will not raise your blood sugar but will fill you up. Just wanted to share my discovery with you and your followers God bless you for the work you do on our behalf.

I thought I'd do the glucose test on the Keto bread from Walmart. Ate two toasted pieces and got a 148 after a hour. I know one piece would probably work but like you I wanted to know. I'm now doing some of the fast food meats. Wow, glucose strips are expensive doing that kind of test,,, but I want to know. Just got some Scotch eggs our of my air fryer and they are so good. I'll check my glucose in a hour but would be very surprised if glucose is over 110. .

The problem with glp-1 agonists like ozempic is that they stop working after about a year. These drugs have to be seen as a temporary solution to fix the worst problems but the person has to adopt a low-carb diet so that their body is ready when the glp-1 agonist stops working. It's similar to how many bariatric surgery patients gain their weight back because they don't learn how to eat a low carb diet to keep the weight off

Mr. Pollack have you had any comments or interviews about BG going up slightly after stopping meds? I stopped taking meds when my A1C was at 6. Just did again and it was 6.5. it's been 3 months since first A1C. Still better than the 7.9 I started with. I'm eating mostly keto/Carnivore. BG was going below 50 when I stopped the meds. Now they are around 130/140 most mornings. Again that's without meds. After eating goes up maybe 20/30 points. Very rarely spike like it used to. :) I'm 65 female, hypothyroid and lost 30 lb so far this time. lost 80 lbs in 2016 on keto. maintained till covid and gained back 30. have now lost that with this start over.

It's possible you are still insulin resistant just like me. I have raised blood glucose when I eat pure carnivore and I came to the conclusion that I might be consuming excessive protein, especially when one isn't actively doing resistance training. I reckon we do not need much protein if we aren't doing resistance training, especially if we are still insulin resistant. Going forward, I want to switch to alternate day fasting. I feel it's time to shock my metabolism. You may require something similar, i.e., extend fast and do resistance training. If you cannot do the latter, then dial down your protein intake until you hit the sweet spot for you by testing.

@@naijaman6639 Thank you for the suggestions and reply. I have started doing a 5-1-1 schedule. 5 days IF, 1 day 24 hr fast and 1 day 36 hr. Being a female and hypothyroid I found I do better like this. :)

@naijaman6639 Жыл бұрын
@@merryannebrown Wow, you already have a robust intermittent fasting strategy in place. I am not a fan of exercise but I am slowly getting to the point of acknowledging it is the missing piece for me. It may be the same for you. My blood glucose only drops below 5.0 or 90mg/dl when I fast for up to 48 hrs and above. Once I eat and I mean ketovore, it hovers around 6 or 108. Losing weight around the abdomen is crucial and with hypothyroidism, weight loss may be more challenging, especially without exercise. Yes, it's challenging, but it's better to be aware and continue to strive for good health. The alternative is disastrous.

Diabetes does seem impossible to manage when dumped on a patient all at once. I think that the diabetes ED we are given is crap. Who can go from eating what you crave to dropping carbs and sugars all at once? I found it easier to cut out sugars first. When you realize the importance of your A1C and see t coming down, then you can begin to cut down on carbs. It helps if you are a meat lover to begin with. My friend craves bread and veggies. She wants zero meat. She finds it nearly impossible to regulate her diabetes. I feel for her as she is finding out the results of long term diabetes.😅

Just wanted to say this because I also follow Dr. Berry and other Carnivore Dr's here on YT. But to follow only a meat diet/Carnivore you should add salt for electrolytes. 🤷
