Thanks, there are so many other great details in there. And many of them are hard to understand today, though it seems that they resonated quite well with the viewers back in Bosch's day.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. I always found it amusing that this painting used musical instruments as torture devices. The bagpipes force the damned to march around in circles. Someone is crucified on a lute. The harp strings pierce through another poor soul. A man is turning the crank on a giant hurdy-gurdy while being tortured by a demon. Another is forced to carry a giant crumhorn with a flute stuck in his butt. The music leader is a demon. The music notes are tattooed or burned onto someone's butt. Someone is covering their ears from the alpine horn. I am a musician and have never sent anyone to Hell with my music. 😈

Oh, I love this painting, I Lear about it some 15 years ago while I was looking for deep purple albums, in the cover of their first album is a small portion of the hell panel, the full thing is wacky, like cartoonish, the bird eating people, the man hugging the owl in the middle panel, someone shiting birds, I like the painting

Great! And I believe Deep Purple were not the only ones using this painting as inspiration for their album cover.

@@flyingpeter Yes, there is a book with music scores and part of the scores are painting on one of the figures (left side of the Hell panel). And there have been people who have turned this into real music, giving us an idea of how Medieval music sounded like.

The dude ascending the ladder with the arrow in his butt is funny in the Right Panel. In the exact center of the painting lies an egg.

If you look at the hell panel you'll see a Gothic Harp, Hurdy Gurdy and a Medieval Lute, there is a man's buttocks with music notation written on it. If you look up "Hieronymus Bosch butt music" you can hear how it sounds like. It's a very beautiful eerie melody and i've been addicted to it! I personally thinks it add another dimension to the art. Like a cool little time capsule of an easter egg

Thanks. Yes, there seems to be a lot of music in the right panel. And there is even some sheet music in there that can be deciphered, which some people have turned into real music.

非常に美しく、巧みに人間の喜怒哀楽、罪等描がかれていると思います。失礼ですが、少し不気味な絵画と、私個人の感想です。

And Bosch intentionally made it look creepy and strange, because this painting served as a warning to the people of his time to make the right choices in life such that they would not end up in Hell.
