I absolutely loved the Witcher 3 for it's storytelling. The main story is awesome and many side quests tie into it and can play into the ending you get. Even the unimportant side quests feel like full mini stories. Probably the best open world game in like the last decade or 2
@jimmycarpenter66123 жыл бұрын
@@mikescherrer4923 that's one opinion. I would say sales and reviews speak much louder. The world was one of the best looking of the time and holds up great now. The story was better than anything I've played since. Gameplay was actually extremely fun especially set on a higher difficulty. It took the open world concept to a higher level that was never achieved before and hasn't been hit again since. The dlc alone was full of more content and had a better story than most full games. Please name one game in the genre that did it even half as good because I would love to play it.

Agreed. The Witcher 3 plus it’s expansion packs were worth every penny. Undoubtedly one of, if not the, best RPG game of current/last gen consoles. Cyberpunk aside (which I’ve not had a chance to play yet), CDPR really did put in a load of work into the Witcher and you can tell. Story-wise, gameplay wise, graphically, and in terms of the lore, the game is honestly a masterpiece. One game that I will honestly never get tired of playing again and again.

The Bloody Baron quest COULD have been fantastic had CDPR not danced around the issue so much they made it a point NOT to say something on the topic of spousal abuse. That they felt the need to present him as a sympathetic character and that there's "two sides to consider here". No, if you beat your wife, you're a piece of shit. Full stop. If you beat your wife so bad she miscarries you deserve to be slow roasted over a pit. The simple fact that the Baron never got what was coming to him is a perfect example of CDPR being too scared to actually say something with their writing.

That wall you showed at 5:31 is not the door that unlocks after joining the Daughters of Chaos covenant. That is the location where you get Kirk's Armor of Thorns after you defeat him three times as an invader. The door that unlocks is the one just before the Demon Firesage boss in the Demon Ruins. There is a place where you can walk down a large tree branch and encounter several Chaos bugs. If you've done Solaire's quest up to that point, he is on the other side of a large door. This is the door that can be unlocked by the covenant and is a shortcut to Lost Izalith. If you're actually trying to save Solaire, I'd highly recommend watching a video or reading a guide first as it is easy to mess up.

Similarly to WoW, Guild Wars 2 sneaks in a few really amazing quests. Overall, side quests design is something game struggles with, but the quest to crafting the legendary bow Chuka and Champawat starts with you hunting two giant tigers across the world map. You eventually slay them and come across their three cubs that they were trying to protect. Now you as the player have to find a new home for these cubs and raise them yourself to atone for your misdeed. This actually involves you getting the ability to equip each of the cubs to your back and travel the world doing other missions and completing objectives, culminating in you being able to craft the legendary bow, a weapon that fires spectral tigers as its ammunition. Best quest in the game by far.

Some running jokes transpire over multiple games too. And, Oblivion is looked more fondly by Elder Scrolls fans than Skyrim, primarily because it’s side quests are some of the best ever made. The guild quests are second to none and Skyrim felt like GTA V to me. Tons of improvements in many things, but ultimately felt a little step backwards. I have a nasty habit of rarely playing back games after once beating them. My favorite RPGs, mainly because they’re so long, keep me away. Wow, that's how you save Solaire? I did that without even meaning to! Only ever played through DS once, played as a pyromancer (so the shortcut was already open), and was in that covenant anyway. And I ended up summoning Solaire later to help beat Gwyn! The symbolism of having an Agent of Chaos be the most likely to team up with the Sun Knight is not lost on me, either

If you manage to save Solaire in Lost Izalith, he actually goes on to link the flame in his own world, truly finding his own sun in the end \[T]/

Knights of the old republic 2 had some solid side quest. Particularly the quest where you can make your companion atton a jedi. Had a serious dark side to the character i wasn't expecting

one of my favorite quests comes from one of the best rpg''s out there: kingdom come: deliverence - where you go drinking with the priest and the next morning you have to do the sermon at the church because the priest is too drunk

The Cold Case series of sidequests in the Borderlands 3 DLC Guns, Love, and Tentacles are some of the best sidequests in Borderlands history and are incredibly frustrating because they're so well written it makes me wonder what the hell happened to the vanilla story for BL3

10 best choices in video games. Basically do the best times a video games gives you different options in a quest that will change the way the quest plays out or the game.

Arkham, Cyberpunk, Forza Horizon, and GTA all have side quests you don't want to miss out on. The funny thing about Dark Souls is that you can complete it many times then still discover something new.

My most memorable and favorite side quest was the Witcher 3 one in Skellige, with the monk who'd taken a vow of silence. You need to irritate him into yelling at you, and the payoff is incredible because it's so funny, even for such a short quest.

I have upwards of 700 hours on Oblivion, and no one can convince me it is a bad game. Upon replays you begin to see patterns in gameplay, but there is rarely a game that doesn't do that. The missions mentioned but also The Dark Brotherhood missions and the Sheogorath flaming dogs quest are why that game is so great. It doesn't stand up to some titles today I suppose, but some titles need to be judged in context of age. Oblivion does a lot right. As for Witcher 3, I'm a rookie. Just started it last month, and I could see you guys having to do an entire list just on great stories in the game. I love that they use letters, books, and other written materials to really breathe life into the side quests. Such a good game.

I think if Downpour was technically competing it woudlld have been recieved better. It was my favourite since 4, I played console releases but the vita. Anyway: The Beating Heart quest in that game was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had.
