I love your videos. the foods you post make my mouth water. LOL I have a question on German noodles. Is there a German dish called Case Noodles? My wife s Grandmother used to make them for us and they look like a dumpling with meat inside and a white sauce for the dumpling. If you know of this I would love to be able to make this dish.

I was also very sceptical when I was a child. But after I tried it, they turned out to be one of my favourite dishes. And this bacon sauce with it... what a beautiful life we have here in Germany ;)

@@cooking-the-world When I was a kid, I disliked liver but as I grew up I guess I acquired a taste. Pork liver is my favorite because it is more tender than beef but depending on who is cooking it, I will eat both, especially if it is in a bed of onions. Thank you.
@cooking-the-world4 жыл бұрын
I guess that is exactly what we have with ketchup and mustard - the taste changes over time, and that’s good:) here in Germany we eat a lot of pork liver as well as veal. There is a dish from Berlin that is called “Leber Berliner Art” and this liver is served with lots of pan-fried onions and slices of pan-fried apples. You should try it one day;)

As a Yank tourist,I worked up the (liquid) courage to try mett brotchen with onion.The liquid courage(schnapps,Becks) helped.I loved the dish and miss it terribly,but wouldn't eat raw pork in the US.If former east Berlin I tried that schweinshaxe.It looked terrifying,like some si-fi monster.I just averted my eyes and ate.It was addictive,years later I still have dreams about it.

I've always heard that eating raw pork is hazardous because it could cause parasite infection.
@cooking-the-world4 жыл бұрын
It really depends on the food regulations in your country. I can assure you that in Germany you can eat it safely. I don't know what about the rest of the world though.

@@cooking-the-world Well, I live in Hungary and here I've never seen pork for raw consumption in the grocery or restaurant but raw beef (under the name tatar beefsteak). Perhaps, in Poland raw grounded pork is eaten, it's called tatar or something similar...

Thanks for the feedback. Creating this video I wasn't thinking what kind of meat I show, I was concentrating on tradition and thats the only explanation. Eating pork is very traditional, especially that the meat was accessible and cheap. When I do the 3rd part of the meat video I will try to include different meat varieties for you:) Thank you for taking your time to comment. Looking at things from different perspective allow me to grow, so I really appreciate!
