FALSE ! YOU HAVE TO BE PHYSICALLY IN GREAT SHAPE TO LOOK BEAUTIFUL IN A DRESS .YOU MAY HAVE THE MOST EXPENSIVE DRESS IN THE WORLD , BUT IF YOUR BODY IS OUT OF SHAPE , YOU MIGHT AS WELL GO " NAKED ! " IN THE DARK ! OR " SWING WITH TARZAN IN THE JUNGLE , " IF TARZAN IS AS BAD SHAPE AS YOU ARE !

Cynthia Rothschild777 Don’t pick a dress if YOU feel you are out of shape. But I (who am slim and in fairly good shape) have seen many women wearing dresses who would probably agree that they were out of shape, but who looked like a million bucks... IMO, of course! Whatever the outfit, whatever their size, whatever the fitness of the person... the wearer just needs to pick the outfit.. (including dresses) that fits correctly, (including appropriate undergarments... which are needed for any outfit) and that flatter them! However, there are other outfits that usually can substitute for a dress for most occasions if that is anyone’s preferred form of attire, -for whatever reason. But I do agree ... dresses are so easy... one and done, so to speak. They can simplify dressing if one enjoys wearing them.

I always take a pic before I go out if I feel liked I’ve nailed it, making sure I get everything, including jewelry, shoes and bag in the shot. Im 63 and there are very few trends that I don’t at least try on as long as they flatter my figure and don’t expose too much flesh LOL! Sometimes I’m quite happily surprised at which new styles suit me. Fashion is my passion 🤩

Stylish! On Sunday evening, I plan out my outfits for the whole work week, including accessories. If something goes wrong on a morning, I don't have to panic; I just move to the next outfit. I have several solid-colored dresses that I can easily change up with bold jewelry, a statement belt, a flowy vest, or tailored jacket. I also love scarves and get compliments every time I include one in my outfit.

Another great video! I couldn't agree more on the benefits of tailoring. People don't mind spending lots of money on the excitement of a new piece, but they generally have resistance to spending far smaller amounts to tailor pieces already in their closet to make them outstanding! Tailoring is the closest most people will get to a bespoke fit and the results can be outstanding! xox

I really appreciate your tips and that @cherrypie listed them in the comments. Not judge, nor restrictive, like normal KZbinrs tips. This is very helpful just in helping to avoid unneeded stress because if we plan our outfit at least the day before and we have that special occasion outfit in the closet and ignore the old guide lines on how to dress as we age, it give us less things to ponder. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.

Great tips, Leonie. I use many of them. I especially like trying new styles occasionally; I see many women who won’t wear any pants/trousers except skinnies, when there are so many great new styles out there. It just takes a little bit for the eye to adjust sometimes. I also like minimal, well-chosen accessories, as you say, especially the basics: shoes, belt and bag in similar colors, then one or two great extras, like a silk scarf and great bracelet (OR pair of earrings, generally not both). I really admire your style, and thanks for your generous, well thought-out content.

When I was working I would plan out the entire week on Sunday. I would pull out different pieces that I would see on TV that last week and see if I had the same pieces in my wardrobe. I would mix and match and hang them in order. The night before work I would plan the accessories and lay them out for the next morning. I also believe you need to know your body type and what styles and colors look good on you. However, sometimes, I may take 15 or 20 items into the dressing room and many times, I will include items I do not really like but that item turned out to look amazing on me and to be the one I actually bought. I love some of my KZbin fashion stylist but so often when I try the same item on me, it does nothing for me. I also agree with the tailoring thing. I just bought a double breasted beige jacket at H&M and I had to bring it to the tailors to have the cuffs taken up. I agree with all your points on how to look "stylish", including not letting age interfere with your choices...within reason. I have bought oversized black tees at Forever 21 and put my denim jacket over a sun dress with espadrilles. I am one of your more mature fans and I have my basics, but I love fast fashion to keep pace with updated styles each season.

If planning your outfits the night before is too much hassle, plan 5 outfits on Sunday night. This way is much better, because you can make sure what you need is pressed, or not in the laundry or at the cleaner, and you can make sure your outfits vary enough from day to day so it doesn't look like you're wearing the same thing every day.

Yeah - and black next to your face only amplifies any dark shadows under your eyes. And then you wonder why you need so much concealer to look fresh.... That's why a classic black outfit had a white blouse or collar - or at least plenty of your own (evening) skin showing. Unless, of course, you were in full mourning, and the grey face was acceptable.

She has 10 Habits for people with money. Here are my tips for people with low income.Learn how to sew. You can alter stuff you buy on sale at stores ,garage sales or at the thrift store.Find out if there is a pound shop in your city. Clothing at these places is sold by the pound.Make a sales calendar. If you know which stores put what on sale and when, then end of season shopping can get you great deals.Try to acquire a fashion mentor. My friend approached a minister from a wealthy congregation and asked him if he would find someone willing to pass on clothing to her. It worked and she gets many lovely pieces from a woman she has never met. The woman is thrilled that her clothing is being used by a single working mother who is a teacher. See if any of your friends who work in retail will buy stuff for you and pass on the savings from whatever credit they get as employees.Make a record of your outfits. Once you put together a great outfit write down everything about it on an index card, including accessories. This saves time and money whenever you are shopping for replacement or accessories. Take care of the clothes you do have by washing it in cold water and line drying it. Never buy anything you can not wash at home. Always take care of your shoes and boots by cleaning them and putting them away with a support in them. You can buy a funoodle at the dollar store and cut it in half to put into your boots before you put them away for the summer. They will last long and look great.

Having a capsule wardrobe means never having to plan an outfit. Every woman has a LBD. 80/20 is true. Limit the bling. Trying new is usually a waste of $$. Know your shape. Fit is EVERYTHING! If you go to events. Age - of course it matters - I will not wear toddler-style rompers.

I have a few sweaters in grey. My sus in law advices that fir us older women it can be dirt if dragging/gloomy but u disagree since I can wear a nice bright ref lipstick and brighten it up instantly, also easy to match lots of makeup colors as well as with black or white. I’m 56, pale skin and a fit 5’3 problem with me I have a rainbow in my closet trying nothing matches si I’m trying to tone down with some neutral pieces but I do live my colors and people who know me not to change that it goes with my personality. Lol! I love winter clothes and wearing booties with skirts, pants and even some casual dresses. Love fashion and love to make it fun within what I can wear related to my age, size and budget. Even if I’ll wear all neutral I’ll make sure to throw in a bit of contrasting color is fun. I don’t care to look classic all the time I find all that perfection in everything quiet boring! But decent and make it fun.

I am new to your channel, but appreciate your content greatly. I noticed on many channels a request to show women in fuller sizes and the comments are the same, which is disheartening. Will you consider doing a video on styles for women with problem areas? Maybe focus on big thighs and what to look for in pants that don't bunch at the crotch area when you walk. Have a model walk in them so we can see the tip in action. Maybe there is a trick for that bunching, but, women who have not worn wide leg pants because they want to avoid the bunch, don't know it, so they keep wearing dresses, skirts or long drapey shirts that almost look good on them. Also, many women struggle with looking pregnant even after wearing three layers of control top shapers. I don't remember the video of the lady who'd had surgery and she has a condition where she'll always have a pregnancy tummy (cannot have a cosmetic procedure b/c of internal scarring) but she, like many, want to know how to dress well with real life examples. Maybe get one of those pregnancy tummies like at some maternity stores and let us see how you would dress a woman who has a problem with that pregnancy tummy issue. My sister is big boned and is oddly between fashion sizes. Not quite Avenue or Lane Bryant stores size, and just outside New York and Company sizes. I shop New York and Company and am always looking for things for her. Their new plus line is good, but it's limited. Thank you for considering.
