In the original Legend of Zelda, when you explore the last dungeon, you might just happen to walk into the room where you fight Ganon, and you might not have found the silver arrow yet, not only making the fight impossible, but you also can't leave the room.

Damn. Bad Nintendo.

That's the gimmick of most Bosses in the game and series, though: get the needed weapon/item to win. Plus, in Zelda 1, the Boss of each dungeon can be heard from 1 room away; so it isn't totally a surprise or unavoidable.
@Thelodis2 ай бұрын
Except that for every other boss in the game, you can either defeat them with just the sword or the door doesn't shut behind you so you can go back and get the necessary item. And for some reason, you can't hear Ganon roar from outside the door, you can only hear him from the other sides of the walls where you can't enter the room, the only real clue is if you have the compass and can see where Zelda is. And there are no real clues that you need a special item either or where to find it. I think there are no other final bosses in the series where you can enter without the necessary items or spells and the only options are either to die, reset or save and quit, except for Zelda 1 & 2. You can enter Ganon's chamber in the third game withouth the silver arrow, but you can get out by falling down the pit.

I cannot believe Lavos from Chrono Trigger wasn't mentioned. One of the first things you do in the game is step on a telepod at the Millennial Fair. If you step on the Right pod instead of the Left one, you are instantly teleported, at like level 2, to end game.
@JimmybrichieАй бұрын
Pretty sure you have to have beaten the game once and be on a new game+ in order to trigger the earlier end-boss fights. Like waking up at the beginning of the game and walking to the nearby cliff to instantly face off against the end boss, solo, with Crono. I could be wrong though.

The Right Telepod method of reaching Lavos can only be utilized in New Game Plus. That said, you can interact with the bucket at The End of Time fairly early in the game, but Gaspar does warn you against it.

Karstag had nothing to do with the Dawnguard--Karstag was related to the Dragonborn DLC. All you had to do was find his skull in an unmarked cave, then place the skull on the throne in his castle. “Menu Boss” pops up in many games, but for me it was Dark Souls 2. Normally, you can’t continue playing until menus are closed, but not Dark Souls 2. Instead of pausing the game when you access menus, you can still move around, but your buttons operate the menu. The main menu is up in the corner, a small list of tabs. When you select a tab, the menu then fills half the screen. If you only exit the tab, the main menu stays open in the corner. It’s small, and your attention is front and center. You have to exit both. So many times I’ve gone into combat without realizing the main menu is still open, and when I start pressing buttons, instead I’m scrolling through tabs, opening them, accidentally dropping or using something, whatever. Meanwhile, the ever deadly mobs of Dark Souls 2 are getting their pound of flesh. *_Menu Boss, damn you!_*

@@Acuas yeah that’s the one I’m thinking of, I found it before the cave but I just ran around a lot before doing anything of note in most areas

Demi lich in BG2 should be on this list

Yeah, I guess Lansseax _would_ be hard if you haven't sufficiently leveled your Vigor. 😄

Just part of the reason why I never could quite get into all the souls games. They punish you for being curious... Like, what? I'm sorry for actually caring enough about your game to explore it thoroughly rather than just beeline for all the bosses straight from the start?

Wow. Didn't know about The Witcher 3 boss. Finished like 5 times and didn't kill any cows, maybe I'm a good human being 😅
@JahkayhlaАй бұрын
It's even more amusing because it isn't terribly hard to kill and ends up making killing cows even more lucrative because of what it drops by itself.

Um, the ruby the frost giant drops doesn't have anything to do with Kaarstag. In fact, that's a completely different DLC.

In case there's a Commenter Edition: Hollow Knight. Just exploring before facing the Hollow Knight, I found both The Collector (who, while not too bad, had the random jumping into the ceiling to spawn other enemies) which was annoying. And The Traitor Lord. Who took, 37 attempts.....37!!!! I had all but one Mask on life, all abilities, and was only missing 3 charms. But that f***er......I HATED that fight.

How about "The end of the cycle" entity from stellaris. Inexpensive player can accidentally summon it without realizing that it well doom their empire & their whole species.

Maybe some, but I've heard him reference FGS in WC videos, so safe bet he's most likely still on at WC on some kind of part-time or freelance basis

is this list somekind of joke? Witcher 3? Fallout 4? This must be a joke. Have you guys heard of a game called Path of Exile? I would like to see how you guys deal with Uber Maven or Uber Sirus, honestly i doubt you guys would even be able to finish the campaign which is only the start of it all..
