One enemy that sticks out in my mind is the Krimzon Guard blast bots from Jak & Daxter 2-3. They're tanky as hell, can chew through your health if you're not careful, and they're usually surrounded by swarms of weaker enemies. But the most annoying part is that you're always on a time limit when they're present. Fail to kill even one of them before they reach their objective and you have to start the mission all over again.
@TheViper4Life23 күн бұрын
I don't know, I'm definitely getting beyond sick of the idea of getting to the final boss after spending the entire game hyping them up as some world ending threat...but then the final boss needs all of their minions to help them out IN the battle as distracting cannon fodder. It's like, you're supposed to be the be all end all of evil that I couldn't possibly combat on a level playing field, yet your real difficulty comes in the fact that I have to keep fighting off OTHER enemies you need help with....some boss.
@icewrack915222 күн бұрын
I agree, though I think for some games there is a reason for it - take a shooter for example like Remnant: From the Ashes - some of the bosses spawn minions to fight and the boss has a massive health pool - I think the reason they throw enemies at you is twofold - one, if you run out of ammo you can't kill the boss. So the mobs are like a way for you to sustain your ammo pool. Not saying its fun, I just think that there was a reason for it.

@ThatSoddingGamer10 күн бұрын
Yes, Malboro, screw those guys. Super frustrating to deal with, to the point they're basically nasty minibosses. They're usually among the strongest random enemies you can find in areas where they spawn and their myriad status effects can ruin your day. In FFX, I recall being more frustrated with them than I was with Omega (which I defeated later). You could be strong enough to breeze through the other mobs, but a Malboro can show up and wreck you unless you're OP enough to kill it quick. They're basically the embodiment of 'status effect moves suck unless enemies are using them on you'. Tonberries are what you get when you take the slow moving inevitable death of a horror movie monster and wrap it in an adorable plushie-like package. Super intimidating until you get powerful enough to kill them quick.

Okay, only as far as the Halo entry and I already disagree w three of the entries (and never played the other two.) Halo- as annoying as the Prometheans are at first, they are actually a really fun enemy to play against once you understand them. I personally would say the rocket launcher flood from Halo CE, or the jackal snipers from Halo 2 are both way more annoying (especially on legendary w respect to the jackal snipers, as they kill you w one shot and until you know more or less in advance where they are, they will kill you a bunch of times.) Doom Eternal- While my first playthrough I despised the Marauders (to the point of quitting the game only coming back to it months later), upon that return, I actually rather liked them because they provide such a massive shift in your fighting style without that shift being totally unreasonable in the context of the game. Instead, I found that the most annoying enemy in the game was the Archvile, mainly because you really need to prioritize killing them first regardless of what else is in the fight with them and yet they usually spawn in places you can’t tell they are there at first. Hating the Marauders is basically akin to saying “I can’t adjust my tactics” or “I’m too unskilled to take advantage of the openings in their defense”, the Archvile and its constant summoning of more enemies to the battlefield, however, can easily overwhelm you if you don’t get rid of them quickly regardless of what your tactics are. Final Fantasy- I’m willing to agree that the Malboros are annoying as hell unless you have items or abilities that keep your characters immune from at least some of their effects, but the whole point is by the time you encounter them, you should have such IF you’ve been developing your characters appropriately and been picking up all available items. It isn’t that hard to do this in any of the FF games I played (basically 7-12 minus 11) . Instead, I would go with the Tonberry (at least in many of the games- in 8 they are pretty easy but everything in 8 is easy if you know what you’re doing) which usually have a one hit kill and a lot of health to burn through.

You are saying that Marlboros doesn't use Bad Breath all the time. but this isn't 100% accurate. In Final Fantasy 8 for example, they almost always used it as first attack from the very start of the battle, because they are programmed to do as such! Of course, since they are kind of lazy, the player still has some time in that game to come up with a powerful attack before they strike, or just wishing for Odin to appear to kill them himself, but in FF8, the ''Luck Factor'' plays a bigger role than other games in the franchise.

Nobody likes the Screechers in Raft. Raft is a very chill game where you aimless drift from island to island, collecting resources to build your raft bigger. There is always a shark following you, but it can be countered numerous ways. Some islands have boars, which are also easily countered. But then you have your screechers. Those are giant birds that will fly far away, pick up a rock, and try and drop it on your head, dealing a decent amount of damage. The problem is that they will always fly far from you to grab their rock, making melee attacks virtually impossible to pull off, so the only real way to kill them is to shoot them with the bow. But due to the trajectory of the arrows, not only are they hard to hit, but you also have very little time to dash out of the way so you don't get the rock dropped on you. On top of that, they take lots of arrows to kill as well. You cannot ignore them or run away from them like you can with boars; they will always try and kill you as long as you're on or near the island. Once they are dead, you can finally resume the chill, relaxing gameplay of strip mining the island of its junk. That's why the game has a mod whose only purpose is to remove those damn birds.

The bug swarm in the ballroom of te4 remake is way more annoying than re7. Fortunately it is very easy to cheese but its equally as time consuming

Please Jules, life is rough these days, a bit of nostalgia and flash games?

The Marauders? Really? Even two at once wasn't that bad. Sure, you need to learn how to beat them first but once you know they are a breeze. And that's coming from someone who prefers his games easy, but any Doom game has to be played at least on Ultra Violence difficulty. And as someone else already said, the Cazadors are also simple, you just need to aim for their wings.

The shield guys from the Batman Arkham games. 1 on 1 is fine but a group and some with shields, comeon.
