Old skool build remember doing this on Paper and various MW versions. some of them you'd just shoot kill and slump in overheat and hope no one comes up. I think in MW3 you could wreck by just focusing one leg and immobilizing a mech with an amputation. Glad this guy is having fun!

My brother bought the laser piranha and in his first game with it he turned the corner and shot a heavy in the ass with hit, but when he did so he accidentally hit the alpha strike button. He delt 270 damage in that one burst then his mech immediately self-destructed. It took him 3 games to learn how many lasers he could fire at once.

That was an amazing last stand by the Kit Fox at the end of the first game. He took down, what, an assault, heavy, and medium mech in a 30-tonner? Turning what would have been a 6-12 stomp into a much less stompy 9-12. Not bad at all!

I remember when Battletech first came out. We used to just rip all the projectile weapons out of the faster mechs and load them down with Medium Lasers. If you could get in close, you just couldn't beat the damage / heat ratio.

You can sacrifice the er micros, add an addition heavy small laser, and add two double heat sinks for more heat efficiency. Also gotta drop the engine to go to 132 kmph but imo it's worth it.

I did a table top charger with I think 30 small lasers and a large laser inner sphere 3025 I called it the hedge hog because they have small spines all over their body could you do something similar

Baradul, have you tried Jenner II C with 4 HMLs + 2 HLLs? Much hotter, but can alpha (once!) and have double the effective range compared to this PIR. Of course way worse hitboxes, but pretty comparable speed (135ish iirc). Mine is painted purple and named Spanish Inquisition, since noone expects 76dmg in the back in one laser alpha :3

I prefer a different Build: 6Small Laser, Rest Micro Lasers: Managable Heat and Alpha with NO Ghost Heat. Better for Drive By´s then those Heavy Smalls. Annihalate an Annihalator head on and within Seconds. (when he doesn´t look at you for as long as you need to get behind him, what happens depressingly often...) When you cant bring yourself not to Alpha in an Enemys Back when you stand there, this works way better.

trying to figure out how you got all that on the PIR-2, your set up currently exceeds total tonnage. the armor set up you have starts the mech at 4.5 tons, + XL180 - 5.5 tons, 4 tons heat sinks, 10 hvy sml - 5 tons = 19 tons, 5 ER Micro = 1.25 tons. Where you get the .25 ton to get that 5th ER micro laser??? (or has PGI nerfed this build since your video?)

I think the new PSR system is causing folks to be tentative. It rewards using your team as meat shields.

Yeah, it really punishes you for taking the initiative and having good aim. Reliable cockpit shooter with your Gauss Rifle? You cap 2 bases, kill 4 mechs solo and then die, blunting their entire push, then your team goes on to win 12-1? You only did 258 damage and took 422? Pilot skill rating=v After a while I stopped caring about my PSR. Sank to tier 5 because I play to mission and accurate kills. May not have the best rating, but my team wins more often than not.

LRM are fine, but they are support weapons nor artillery, stay with the pack and make peoples lives painful from the second lines. otherwise it's a waste of tonnage as people get more than enough time to take sufficient cover
