My husband and I moved to Michigan about 6 years ago, where the movie It Follows was made. A few years later, while talking to our neighbors about horror movies, we found out that the guy we bought our house from played the naked man in that movie. Of course, I immediately went to IMDb, and sure enough, it was him. Occasionally, when they’re in town, they visit the neighbors and us. I’m not sure I could look at him the same after having seen him naked now 😂

In Saw 2, a women sticks both her hands into holes in a box with razors to get a cure for the poison gas she's breathing in, but she gets her hands stuck and presumably dies from blood loss. However if you look closely at the top of the box you can see that it isn't locked, and she could of just opened it from the other side and avoided the razors all together.

Oculus was really good, I kept thinking: "Just leave the house and the mirror" NOTHING good ever comes from Mirrors.
@flamewolfscout3978
@flamewolfscout3978 3 жыл бұрын
You say that like they could've escaped that way. The past timeline left them forced to literally fend for their lives, and bear in mind, they wanted the mirror destroyed so they could stop its influence. And the present timeline shows Tim stepping outside and making a phone call, but then finds himself ported back into the house; and that's not even taking the ending into account, where it's even WORSE for them: BOTH siblings run outside, but upon looking in through the window, they seem themselves standing in front of the mirror, the killswitch timer still going down. In other words, they CAN'T just run away.
@SnarkierThan-U-R
@SnarkierThan-U-R 3 жыл бұрын
@@flamewolfscout3978 the HAUNTING only existed in thier minds so yes that's is exactly what I mean. Didn't you get the movie? You seem like a teen. In fact if the writer wanted to allude to the fact that a demonic or otherwordly presence was responsible then he wouldn't have had the strange occurences only be through thier perception of reality. Example: She picks up an apple and takes a bite only to realize that she actually bit into a lightbulb that she had picked up. Everything (Thier actions) was based on how the brother and sister perceived things to be. The scene where the he goes outside only to find himself inside is set to make us question own perceptions.

@SnarkierThan-U-R
@SnarkierThan-U-R 3 жыл бұрын
@@flamewolfscout3978 The ENTIRE fucking movie is intended to make us not only question their perspectives but but our own. Franklky I don't know if the plants "suddenly died" from 'ghost intervention' or lack of "care" but seeing them shrivel up is a metaphor symbolizing the paasage of time. Seriously, I don't remember seeing anyone watering the plants.. just remember this rule of filmmaking: NOTHING ever appears in a movie that doesn't have some kind of identifial meaning. So, when you grow up you will look at movies differently. If there was an other-wordly presence we would have seen evidence of such phenomenon.

I know, right? Every time I hear someone say it was so good, I sincerely ask what they like about it, and other than vague responses like, "I just liked it," or, "It was cool," no-one seems to have anything to discuss. I could say things like how it is stupid to send group after group trying to recover a missing person only to mount the missing person toll. Or the time lapses don't seem to fit with their aging, wear-and- tear, need for sustenance, urgency to resolve the glowing bubble thing, or even add any interest or complexity to the plot, but just seems to be there to be something weird. Or how the title doesn't fit the movie because all you need to do is leave the area alone and problem solved. I would've liked to see the bubble expanding so it appeared to be a problem to solve, but evidently, it only did in the backstory. I could say that I'd like to see something in the performances or plot that we hadn't seen before. But there is never a satisfying retort; people don't seem to have much conviction to support their stamp of approval, specifically for this movie. As it is, there were some decent special effects, but they were wasted here and could've better served a more deserving script.

One particular one I enjoy is the found footage movie "Alien Abduction". Just before the family meets the aliens for the first time, the son (who is filming) points his camera at a rear view mirror on a car. For just a moment, to the left of his reflection, you can see one of the aliens also staring at the mirror come into view. It's simple, but a well-done scare. Edit: Found the scene: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6e2eKyhptJ0fs0 around the 2 and a half minute mark.

dude the descent was one of the best scary movies. its not exactly what i would call a good movie but it definitely came thru when it comes to instilling fear. its got monsters, paranoia, claustrophobia and survival driven betrayal. oh and cannibalism lol. i don't like the movie but its at least a 9/10 when it comes to unsettling the viewer. that being said it was well done as a movie in general- im just not a fan of cheesey horror, even when executed effectively. impressive none-the-less.

I always thought that the thing in It Follows took a form of people you would be least attracted to, making the sexual nature of it's kills much more horrific. I felt like it was a commentary on violent sexual assault.
