There are many things in Pokémon which people commonly think are true, but unfortunately aren’t. These are known as misconceptions. Today, I’m going to go through ten pretty interesting ones. Enjoy!

Can we talk about how bullshit the Kanto gyms were in the anime? Sabrina is using Pokemon that at that point in time were almost gods who couldn't be touched by any other Pokemon and if you lost to her you were turned into a doll. Ash had to fix her crippling psychological problems to even have a chance of winning Erika won't even let you into the gym unless you like perfume and flowers and Ash has to cross dress to even get inside Then we have Giovanni who was using a bio engineered psychic type that wasn't even listed in the Pokedex. I'm assuming the Pokemon League is an organization with some kind of management. How was Sabrina's gym was allowed to stay open.

There is an agency that checks if the gym leaders follow the rules from time to time. Sabrina probably just got lucky for a while, but her gym should be wrapped up by now :P Erika, well, idk. Giovanni didn't use Mewtwo from the beginning so he as well just got lucky for a while.

Depends on the sources you look at, the Kanto Pokemon League in the manga had over half the gym leaders as part of Team Rocket and the Elite Four almost destroyed Kanto in order to capture a legendary pokemon. While the manga and anime follow two different canons they're still some overlapping facts, it's possible that Team Rocket still has some influence in the pokemon league only far more subtle than its manga counterpart

The master ball can't fail since it multiplies the catch rate by 255, which is more than enough to catch any pokemon, even if the pokemon has a catch rate of 3 which is the mininum. 3*255= 765 Chance= 765/255 =

virus Juvera I have no hope in the writers to begin with. The anime doesn't even need to follow the games 100% to be a great anime. The show has had great battles and even some great episodes/episode arcs, and yet, the writers are so adamant about sticking with this. So much wasted potential, and, we know they can do it. They just choose not to most of the time. Which is why as much as I wish we get a new recurring villain that's similar to Pokémon Hunter J, it's probably not gonna happen.

My biggest misconception as a kid was about Fantina. As a child, Diamond was my first ever game, and when finally getting to battle the gym leader I honest to good thought that Fantina was male. It was only recently, like a few weeks ago, that I learnt that she is in fact, female. Now, why did I think Fantina was male? Idk, she has a strong jawline, and it wasn't uncommon for some male gym leaders to dress pretty feminine. So eight year old me saw this woman who was wearing a freaking ballgown, looked at her jaw, and just went "Ah, a male it is!"

The reason ash won sabrina's badge after making her laugh is because she and kadabra are connected through mind so if Sabrina laughs, kadabra does too and you could see kadabra lie on the ground because he was laughing so hard. Thus being unable to battle.

For a long time I always believed LAPRAS was a mythical pokemon. It was rare in early games and was based on the loch Ness monster. I still view it as a majestic and special pokemon

Easy misconception to make. In gen 1, you only got 1 Lapras in Silph Co. if you talked to that one guy. In gen 2, you only could catch it on a friday in a part of union cave you need iirc strength and surf to access, by which point you likely just forgot that part existed since you never have a reason to go back to union cave and nothing in-game aside from one guy's post-battle dialogue even hints at Lapras' existence. And in later gens, you often only get Lapras either post-game or super close to post-game at super low rates while surfing, so low that in none of those games, I ever met a Lapras except when I was spcifically hunting one for the dex.

When I played Emerald as a kid, I struggled to beat the psychic sisters Tate and Liza, but I got through the game because of some Base-Stat Increasing items on my team. When I beat it I took a rocket to space and fought Jirachi, but my Master Ball failed. Then I went back and found a sparkling Kecleon… but it wasn’t pink like shiny Kecleon for some reason. I also loved watching the anime at that time, and it’s so amazing that Ash beat every gym leader with ease! When I was a bit older I got Diamond too, but never beat it because Cynthia’s Rayquaza was too hard for me to get past.
