Quick fix on the XY Starters: You can indeed check the starters before the battle with Shauna. You regain control of your character before the battle, and can check the summary then. It shaves off about 10-15 seconds from each soft reset.

Yes! Finally someone else knows. You can check your starter as soon as the cutscene of getting it finishes! You just gotta save before the cutscene, pick your starter, and then check your pokemon while you're still sitting down!

Very recently I got Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and I wanted a Milotic on my team that had the best ability competitively and the right IVs. I got a Feebas and used the DexNav to get my desired Feebas. I also had a modest synchronizer in my party, but when I got to a Feebas with the IVs or ability that wasn’t desirable, I would keep my synchronizer out of the lead to save PP. After a few attempts of trying to get the ones that run away really fast, I did another DexNav and saw that it wasn’t that great and switched out my synchronizer. I then encountered it to find it was shiny and I was completely shocked. I was both happy and upset that I switched out my synchronizer, but I remember how RNG worked (due to my days of RNG manipulation) and the more I thought about it, the more I knew that if I didn’t switch out the synchronizer, I wouldn’t of gotten the shiny in the first place. When I was done with the game, I knew that I wanted my Milotic to get every ribbon she can get and as of right now, she is done with Hoenn and Kalos (for now) and ready to conquer Alola

hunting for tapu koko was harder cause 1. long ass cutscene 2. no saving. once you beat the champion (not gonna spoil it) you're gonna go through a LONG ass cutscene. that directly drags you to the battle with tapu koko. 3. it has a 0% chance of being shiny. (damn shiny locks)

I remember years ago when I wanted to start my Kalos journey with a Shiny male Chespin for my third X playthrough. I would spend a little while on random days trying it, but I gave up after less than 100 tries. Now, in June 2019, I wanted to try again, and luckily after around 10 soft resets, I actually got a male Shiny Chespin and I was able to continue with my shiny starter for the first time.

For those who watches this video recently, it is a bit easier to get shiny Manaphy as this video might show. The best way in short words: - Beat 4 Ranger copies - Send over the 4 eggs - Trade the eggs to a new savefile - Hatch and if not shiny, soft reset so they are eggs again - in the meantime create a new savefile on a different Gen 4 game - trade them over and hatch there - repeat until you created a gen 4 savefile which hatches the shiny Manaphy It's still one of the hardest hunts for sure, but you don't have to buy millions of Ranger copies as many people think. But great video! That was a lot of research for both of you!

While that could also work, there's another method that works similarly and spends less money All you need is one copy of Pokemon Ranger and two gen 4 games. Manaphy will never be shiny in the FIRST game you transfer to from Pokemon Ranger. For example if you trade it to a Pearl copy first it will not be shiny under any circumstances. To get around this, you simply trade the unhatched egg from Pearl to Diamond, soft reset until buddabing buddaboom shiny Manaphy And if I remember, you do not need to make new savefiles

Which means the only thing that's left to change is the TID + SID (because shininess happens when TID + SID = PID). Since you can't change the PID of the eggs, you MUST create new save files until you get the TID + SID combo that makes the eggs shiny. So creating new save files is definitely required.

So... true story. I was restarting my xy game (bc parents wont buy new game lol) and so i was choosing a starter. Zeku Because just finding one is so incredibly cryptic and luck based that I'm not entirely convinced that anyone has found out how to find it by themself. Basically, you need to find a Corsola, which are only a 1% encounter rate off the coast of Hau'oli City, though it gets raised to 20% in bubbling areas. Then, you need to get it to call for help, which only consistently happens when it's at low HP/has an Adrenaline Orb used on it. _Then,_ you need to hope that their call for help actually gets answered, which seems to be a 50/50 shot, and then, and only then, do you have a *20% chance* for a Mareanie to answer the cry. It's completely insane.

I think Milotic is even harder to hunt in DPPt. Feebas is only available on about 8 tiles in Mount Coronet but the catch is that the POSITIONS CHANGE EVERY DAY. I’m not even kidding. Also, when you do get a shiny feebas eventually, you have to feed it poffins to raise its beauty stat. Problem is, THE FEEBAS CAN GET FULL. And it NEVER can get un-full. It’s just stuck forever as a Feebas. That is absurd.

That's a recursive argument though. For a shiny baby Pokemon (which you probably want to evolve) you first need a shiny parent. (The Ditto can be easily obtained via glitch) So to hunt for an easy Baby-Shiny you first need to hunt for a shiny, increasing the time you need drastically (but I have to admit once you have one, you can easily breed as many as you want).

Okay so i recently bought a copy of pokemon ranger, and today i found out it doesnt have the rangernet missons unlocked yet. Could you go into more detail on how i can hunt for a shiny manaphy?

@@kjelltolsma5065 The feature is unlocked after you beat the main story, after clearing the main story you will unlock rangernet, from there you can select to input a password, if you are playing an American cartridge the password is P8M2-9D6F-43H7. This will unlock the mission to get the Manaphy egg, from there you can get the option to connect to a copy of Diamond or Pearl and transfer the egg to it. This will of course require two DS systems to do (you should be able to use a 3DS though). Manaphy's personality value is determined when the egg is transferred to the copy of Diamond or Pearl, and from what I understand it will never be shiny in the game that it is transferred to. You will need to trade the egg over to another game and hatch it there, if it is not shiny, reset and send it to another game, you can delete the old save data on this cartridge after trading the egg back and start a new game, you don't need a completely different cartridge. And repeat the process over and over until you get a game with the correct ID that matches with the Manaphy for it to be shiny. It is...a lot of work. Keep in mind that you only get one Manaphy egg per cartridge of Pokemon Ranger, there is no way to factory reset the cartridge as far as anyone really knows, so it is impossible to get Manaphy eggs to speed up the process unless you manage to get your hands on more copies of Pokemon Ranger that had not transferred the egg previously.

omg,I just found a shiny cotonee last night out of pure luck,trying to soft reset for a chancey in usum,luckily I let it play out instead of soft resetting right away once I saw the shadow, it was my wth moment lol, so easy to find shinies in usum especially with shiny charm,gift pokemon tho,they take awhile, my surfing pikachu took me a month and a week to find...@.@

They always run and decidueye is slow so chances are they would run before you could hit them with spirit shackle

@@cj6138 Nope. In every game where a pokemon can run, fleeing has decreased priority, like Roar. You'd be able to get a shot off.

I've hunted gen 6 starters! Pretty sure I've gotten Fennekin a few times! I've also hunted Frosslass, shiny hunting all of the Unowns right now, I've gotten shiny Raikou and Mesprit, hunting Vespiquen, and I have gotten shiny Manaphy once. Never. Again.

Raunak Sinha You can also breed for Combee, etc. Or just hunt in a different game. This video is about the use of specific methods.
