Just some lore: The only few generations I knew of at the time were Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 6. Plus at the time I knew most about Gen 6 saying it was (and still is) my favorite generation. And I remembered only seeing Dragonite in Pokemon X/Y. And because of my past young idiot brain, I thought that Dragonite was from Gen 6 because I saw it being used in X/Y. (Note that I thought a lot of pokemon were from Gen 6 at that time)

One day I posted one of my most proudest pieces of artwork, and I also entered it in a contest. 5 minutes later, I saw another person who posted their own artwork of the character, and I noticed I missed something. So I went back, fixed it then posted it again saying I had to fix the hair. 5 minutes later I realized I had to put a certain hashtag or I wouldn't be qualified. So I fixed the hashtag. Well, at least I tried. AI clicked the one BELOW IT by accident. So I posted it. 5 SECONDS later I realized I screw up. Again. So I fixed the hashtag for real that time and posted it. Then I noticed I got the COLOURS ON THE SHIRT WRONG. Then I started swearing because I posted it 4 times already. Now, fixing the hair isn't hard. Fixing the shirt IS. I still never fixed it. The anime has it's own separate rule set. it shares the evolution and weakness rules, but it doesn't share move limitations (see pikachu using "draco meteor climb" in X and Y). It's like when YuGiOh has cards do different things than the real card. It's not that they screwed up, it's that they don't care because they're making a TV show.
