Not really it can help with headers but there are small center backs like Lisandro Martinez and Fabio Cannavaro but they are still great at headers

make sure you are agressive good on ground and improve your vertical jump I am one of the shortest defenders in the league but still the best

To be honest being tall and being short as a cb both have different advantages and you can take example from paulo maldini who is short or van dijk who is tall
