I wouldn't say underrated, but underappreciated by those that didn't see him. Prior to the injuries he was beating well known names at that point. He only had 4 losses, the 1 to GSP, 1 to Diego, and 2 to Sherk outside of the UFC.

When you said 'imagine a champion fighting back to back months', I've been watching a lot of ONE recently and their Muay Thai fighters have crazy numbers in their records; could you do a video explaining why their is such a difference in the amount of fights they have compared to MMA please? I'm assuming it's not JUST the money, those Muay Thai fighters knock the shite out of each other. Thanks and keep up the good work.
@desyncer6 ай бұрын
Muay Thai fighters do hard training from a young age and it's a lifestyle and culture thing. They sleep, eat and live in the gym where they train. Some guys will fight every weekend if they could. Big stadium fighters will normally fight less often but it can still be as frequent as every three weeks or once a month if they stay healthy.
@CarlWidegrip6 ай бұрын
It is part of the culture. There are events, small-to-mid sized, going every week and fighters are expected to fight. Since they only get paid to fight there’s pretty serious incentives to step in there if you’re physically able. Add to that the pressure from gambling pundits. As your name value rises they usually fight less often, but 4-6 times a year is still common.

To add to that, I hate to say it, but PED usage is a bit more... prevalent to say the least.
