Thanks for the video. My lower back hurts when I jump and/or jog. Do you have a suggestion for cardio with this issue?
@Flipping50TV4 ай бұрын
Easiest tip is don’t jump… but I’d also get to the bottom of why. Is there a lack of strength, stability, core or something else .

I have had both knees replaced, 1 was 11 years ago the other 7 years ago. I am trying to do more lateral work. I was amazed to realize I cannot jump. It isn't that it causes me any pain at all. I think it's more that I am afraid because I have avoided it for so long. I am practicing and am getting better and have no trouble walking 2 miles but it is a shocking realization that I cannot jump as easily as I once did.

I am 64 and started exercising “for real” a year ago. Also found that it was really hard to jump. It seems that with age we loose the fast twitch muscle fibers, that makes us jump.

2x as fast as slow, yes… but you get them back if you train for aging with power and agility

My daughter and her boyfriend are both doctors, and my husband's an orthopaedic doctor. They've all said that building bone tissue to for bone density only works up until your ca. mid 30s. Also, impact exercises may not be a good idea for those with kidney disorders. However, building muscles strength is good to support bones and joints.

Interesting but we e seen reverse of bone loss occur for the last 5 years so the actual results and the studies ( becoming more abundant since 2016) argue otherwise. Do they work directly with progressive load and impact? Likely when they were in medical schoolteachers they’re bc in 1995 when I began coaching on osteoporosis and exercise.. we thought mistakenly we needed to bubble wrap people with low bone density. We do not . The injury rate with properly supervised high impact and heavy load weight training combined with movement and optimal rest and nutrition is extremely low and women post menopause reverse losses. Suggest studies done recently.. some including Belinda Beck might be helpful for them. Though there are others. You are correct.. none peaks at 30. Losses begins at 35 if proper steps aren’t happening… but the newer science includes progressive exercise that does indeed reverse bone loss. Without negative side effects of drug therapies.

Hi! Where do I start? I turned 50, and I'm lost. I have been doing cardio and resistance. I just realized that I haven't been focusing as much as I should on resistance. I do a brisk walk on the thread mill everyday for about 30 minutes. I then do cardio and resistance using dumbells for a total of 30 to 40 minutes everyday. I don't think this is working. My diet is pretty good but my real struggle is how do I exercise properly for my age.

I'm 57 and have osteoarthritis and osteoporosis can I do these exercises?
@Flipping50TV4 ай бұрын
You would start as a beginner with them. You need to start with a slow and progressive program ideally working 1:1 with someone until you know your own limits.
