10 Minute BJJ Morning Mobility Routine (FOLLOW ALONG)
In this video, I take you through my personal morning mobility routine that I personally do every morning to stay limber for BJJ. It only takes about 10 minutes and it pairs well with some foam rolling or other tissue release.
This mobility routine specifically targets the lower body and perfectly compliments BJJ training as it releases lower body tension built up from BJJ.
The bulk of this routine was heavily influenced and adapted from the work of Kelly Starrett, the author of the best-selling book "Becoming a Supple Leopard" and the creator of "The Ready State". If you're interested in all things mobility then you should definitely check him out.

Hello awesome video !! Does thoses stretch work the upper body mobility or is it focused only on the lower body? Do you recommend/ advise stretching upper body too?

Hey man, yeah this is a lower body routine. I do have some "elbow specific" and other warm-up/cool-down routine videos on my channel but I'm still working on an upperbody routine :)

do you recommend a warm up before stretching? I believe it would be even more beneficial for stretching

Great vid m8 but as a 50 year old who’s so disheartened by elbow and shoulder pain, can you do a video on these area’s please?

Thank you so much. I took up BJJ at 50 having done Thai boxing and boxing all my life. I absolutely love it but the gripping of Gi’s has really affected my hands and elbows. To the point I want to give up, cos every time I train I have to take 3 weeks off. I’ve never had problems with my elbow, fingers or shoulders in my whole life. Can’t wait for your next video👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

@@gceltmc Ah man, that sounds really tough. Apologies if you've already done it, but have you been using finger tape? If not I highly recommend it to address your fingers. As far as elbows go, I know a few routine that I work through when I jack my elbow from something like BJJ use or even an arm bar etc. I'll make an elbow specific video for you

I can see by your video that you know your stuff. Can’t wait for the upper body stuff. Please don’t forget about grip and elbows. Such a massive thing in BJJ

Are you naturally quite flexible or have you had to work to get the ROM you have?

Hey man, thanks for the comment! I'd say that I've had to work pretty hard to get my ROM to where it's currently at. For context, I've been focusing on mobility for the past 2 years I'd say, off the back of my more traditional "bodybuilding" days where I was quite stiff and had fairly shit ROM.
