I think my teenage daughter would love Jen Campbell's book The Sister Who Ate Her Brothers. We both listened to Jen read it on her channel and my daughter told her online friends about it. :)

If you really like fantasy romance, have you ever read any Sharon Shinn? While they don't have explicit intimacy scenes, but all of her books have a romance in them, and I love them so much. (Sidenote: Sharon Shinn and Juliet Marillier are two of my favorite authors, and you are the only person I've come across so far on booktube who mentions Juliet Marillier, and it makes me so happy to hear her mentioned :)

Yes! I love Sharon Shinn, I've only read two of her books so I really need to read more. She also reminds me of Robin McKinley if you haven't read her?
@stephkitten3 жыл бұрын
@@JeansThoughts I love Shinn's Samaria books, and the 12 houses, but probably my favorite is Summers At Castle Auburn, It's for me a nearly perfect fairy tale story. I have read Robin McKinley, although not her most famous stuff like Hero and the Crown. My faves of hers are her retellings (Rose Daughter, Spindle's End, and Deerskin - although that last one is super duper dark).

oh! as someone who was put onto to Juliet Marillier by Jean, I was happy to find another Booktuber who is a big fan of Marillier: Badger Reads. She has a really nice channel.

I read These Women by Ivy Pochoda and thought of you and how it was perfect for you! It follows various women connected in some way, with drug abuse and sex work, being preyed on by a killer and how society treats them. Like The Five focuses on the victims, so does this book focus on women affected by the murders of sex workers.

Not related to the video, but I want to know if you have read Nathalie Haynes’s new non-fiction book: Pandora’s Jar, women in the Greek myths , as it sounds like something that you would pick up for your PhD. Not sure if it discusses ‘women violence” but I thought you might have read it and want your opinion on it.

Is the flames of albiyon available for pre-order anywhere other than amazon? Usually prefer to buy from independents if I can!!
@JeansThoughts3 жыл бұрын
You can preorder the ebook on kobo too but it’s not available to preorder in physical copy at all sadly. The physical copy will be available on September 2nd though! And it will be on Lulu which is an independent indie publishing and sales sight ☺️
