Reagrding your question, kizomba is a music genre, not a dance. Kizomba is the Angolan version of French Antilles Zouk. Zouk became very popular in Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa from the end of ’80s. Angolans labeled their version “kizomba”, Cape-Verdeans labeled their version “cabo-zouk”, the other countries didn’t come up with a specific name, otherwise, all these versions are musically very similar to each other, and musically similar to zouk. Kizomba is danced with “passada”, which is the same dance used in other Angolan musical genres, like semba, for instance. What happened is when kizomba was exported to Portugal, Portuguese people got confused: they saw people dancing kizomba (music) and they mistook it for a dance name. That’s why you see a lot of people in Europe miscalling that dance as “kizomba” when it is, actually, passada.

Where's AMAPIANO?
@justicet4All Жыл бұрын
He deliberately ignored it. Amapiano is currently the biggest ganre at the moment. Even the afrobeats artists are now doing Amapiano. Don't tell me about "using Amapiano beat" what what.

Highlife music is as old as the Seprewa two-finder instrument from Ghana. A liberian Kru man taught a Ghanaian, Kwame Asare aka Jacob Sam, how to play the guitar. However, the famous palmwine/highlife guitar came about when Jacob Sam introduced the Seprewa style of Ghana to the guitar.
