The “Kangal” is not “mostly found in Turkey”, it is a Turkish dog breed and, NO, it’s not “also used as a house dog”. It’s a breed that needs open space and needs a purpose. Its a working dog and predominantly used to protect sheep. Put them out with the animals and they’ll instinctively get to work immediately. They’re also known as the Anatolian lion due to its strength and fearlessness. They’ll even fight wolves to protect the livestock. It’s common for those that are used as shepherds to have metal spiked collars to protect their necks/throats in the event of a fight with a wolf.

True. I have a Kangal, and most dogs in the neighbourhood are really cautious around her. She's very loyal, loving, and extremely intelligent. She just loves people and other dogs, even if she does scare most of them! She can also pretty much crush a large bone in just a couple of bites, so yes, she's got the most powerful bite in the dog world.

I showed this to my father, and he asked me why a cane corso isn’t there. He told me that they were originally bred to fight in wars, apparently they are highly protective. One rolling over shows that it has trusted you with its life because it is the most important part of its body, with it doing that, he trusts you not to hurt it, and they will protect until its final breath. I might be getting one, depends wether my mother wants to get a Rottweiler instead.

I was wondering the same. My buddy just got a Cane Corso puppy, paid 6k for him and he is super protective and loyal already. He can leave him outside and he won't run away, and for being a puppy, that is very impressive. He will also stay pretty close to you when you walk. It'll be interesting to see how he will look and act when he gets older.

Rhodesia is not a place in South Africa. South Africa is a country at the southern most tip of Africa. Rhodesia is a country now named Zimbabwe immediately adjoining South Africa to the north. Ridgebacks were bred in the 1800's in what is now known as South Africa as a cross between indigenous African dogs mixed with dogs of European descent to produce dogs that could cope with the climate and challenges of Africa. They are called "Rhodesian" Ridgebacks simply because the gentleman who wrote standard for the breed at the beginning of the 1900's was then living in Rhodesia.

@@miselzorg2081 Some dogs really love their work!! I live in Utah and i have helped herd sheep and cattle and to these dogs herding sheep is like play to them. We also had a Siberian husky...super super hyperactive dog. Had a lot of behavioral problems if you did not exercise him. He loved pulling my kid on his skate board and could do it quite easily. Once the dog got his daily exorcise 90% of his behavioral problems went away!! I myself could totally relate to that. As a kid I was a textbook hyperactive ADHD kid my self. Anyone who thinks these animals with the huge chains, lunging on their leashes aren't being abused is MESSED UP. Reply if you disagree, but this is horrible how dogs are treated. The fact that they're strong doesn't give people permission to treat them cruelly. If anything, they should be treated with more respect because they're impressive. They can still be wonderful, sweet, loving pets.
@kensithedog20534 жыл бұрын

@kal Ke actually, kangal is the strongest breed. Maybe Dogo defeat a kangal in a 1v1 fight, only because the dogo breed has characteristics for fighting, but in terms of raw power, kangal is the strongest.

Great and beautiful dogs! I don't care for the chains and rough handling they get and endure and it seems to be more people driven! I have an 85 GSD and he's a sweet boy. Powerful and loyal but very welcoming to everyone! My brother has two Rottweilers and two Pits Bulls, all great loving, fun dogs. They'd defend his family without all the chains and training as would our GSD if the need arose! Service dogs are a different story of course!

I've seen one of those giant mastiffs when I was training my pup. He was 5 feet tall sitting down. My dog is a husky lab mix and she had a late growth spurt. At the time she was like 20 pounds but kept trying to pick a fight with the giant mastiff.

Why do some have huge chains around their necks?!? And it's so awful they're used for competition!! Awful! Dogs learn how to behave by humans! Let's be kind to dogs and all animals.
@rocketplaya41844 жыл бұрын
They have chains around their necks and as leads so that: 1, they don’t just rip through their lead as they are so powerful and 2, so that they can’t chew through in 5 seconds flat (My dog did this so I am only assuming)
@ivydetaco63744 жыл бұрын
When my kangle dog was 3 months old he bit through a small chain over night. It’s was the first night we ever had him and he staid exactly where we left him but the point is that if he could bite through a small chain at 3 months old and of these dogs could bite through a normal leash
