Sungur Manpad (Turkiye) Range 8km Altitude of fire 4km IIR-Imaging Infrared Imager Infrared Guidance (IIR) system The main difference from IR guided is that IR guidance system is focused on heat, emitting direct heat, while IIR Guidance system is focused on the entire target. For example, when an IR-guided missile is launched, it emits a lot of heat, that is, when the engine is turned on, the IIR guidance system locks on the entire flight image of the target, thanks to its imager. In this case, it becomes very difficult to deceive the IIR system compared to the IR guidance system. SUNGUR, with its 8 kilometer range and Imaging Infrared (IIR) Seeker step separation details, is described as the fourth generation MANPADS due to its superior features.

It uses French IIR if I remember correctly. The issue is that IIR guidance is far more expensive than IR diode guidance, and generally not used for MANPADS because of that. Sungur is also two stage rocket, which is again - a rather expensive feature. So yeah sure you can say it's the most advanced shoulder launched MANPADS available, though it is missing ability to be programmable - but it's something only done on Piorun at the moment (where user can input some characteristics of target and flight profile of missile changes - i.e. missile burns faster on chase, slower on approach, activates proxy fuse on drone or tries to slam into target on fixed wing/criuse missile setting) and Piorun isn't a two stage IIR guided missile. So Sungur is still better overall. But I don't think price comparison will be very favourable to employ Sungur widely in hundereds of units.

SUNGUR is the only one having Imager Infrared Guidance (IIR) system that doesnt get effected by the flare dodges and highest target hit accuracy among all. it must be for sure higher in the list

Nice video with very wrong assumption - mixing MANPADS with CREWPADS, mixing videos of the different versions under one system, and totaly ignoring a lots of important aspects of MANPADS or CREWPADS operations / futures in modern warfare. But - not bad for beginning or introduction to this topic.

😂😂😂 Starstreak engages targets higher than any other missile…by far! Is faster, and compares extremely well in Range (starstreak 2 has longer range) has three lasers, multiple warheads and is one of the lighter systems. And it’s 5th?? 😂😂 Wtaf!!
