44% of adults take at least 1 prescription pill every day, and most of them are on this list of the 10 most prescribed pills of 2020. This video will tell you the list, what the pills are approved for, and more importantly, how to decrease the dosage or stop the medication all together.
With changes in your diet, you most likely won't need any of these 10 most prescribed pills. Even if you are only able to reduce the dosage you need, that is still a great victory. Many of your friends and family take one (or 3) of these pills, and would greatly benefit from watching this video.

In Canada, it's illegal for drug companies to advertise prescription medications on TV, and I think it should be the same in the US. Watching American channels, I sometimes can't believe how many drug ads I see.

The USA and New Zealand are the only countries in the world that allow meds/Rx’s to be advertised on tv. Personally I’m glad they are allowed for the simple reason that there are people out there suffering from things that honestly can be dealt with and they might benefit from one of those Rx’s. What I mean is they may not know that there is an actual condition or disease that causes the symptoms they have. For example I had never heard of irritable bowel syndrome until I saw an ad for it on tv. A better example is: I saw an ad for a COPD medicine and told my mum about it (she has copd) and she asked her doctor about it. The doctor wasn’t familiar with that medicine but he was willing to take the time to educate himself about it. While he was doing his research my mum spoke with her local pharmacist about this new med and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and called her doctor to get permission to give her some free samples. Her doctor had by that time been reading up on the drug and said yes give her the samples. The medicine worked wonders for her and her doctor gave her a regular prescription for it. So simply by me seeing an ad on tv my mum got a medicine that has been a true life saver. That medicine allowed her to stop using an oxygen machine at home and not use a portable tank when out and about. So I fail to understand why some people think prescription drugs shouldn’t be advertised on tv. I like the dissemination of information and knowledge in all formats and as much transparency as possible especially when it comes to peoples health. There was a time when not all doctors knew about the availability of medicines. This caused many patients to suffer needlessly for decades and some died prematurely that could have benefitted from medicine that their doctor simply didn’t know about.

Atorvistatin ruined my life sort of. I have fibromyalgia and went on statin in 1998. By 2002 my fibro was so bad I had lost my job, house, car, etc. burned through my 401k til I got social security. I am living in a small apartment govt subsidized but I love it. I stopped the statin about four years ago after THREE heart attacks and a number of stents. @Maggie. I also have fibro. Have had it for about 24 years. It was so bad at one time l thought of suicide. Horrible migraines, sensitivity to sunlight and my eyes would get blood red, joints felt like they were being ripped apart, fatigue like nothing l can describe, couldn't even turn on the air conditioner in my car. The best thing you can do is eliminate the junk food, snacks, sugar, junk carbs, follow the keto diet as best you can, exercise the best you can, lose any excess weight, get good quality sleep, learn to meditate. All this helped me tremendously and from a scale of 1 to 10, l was a 10+ and went to about a 3. I believe it is a form of PTSD, but l can never convince the medical community of that because they would rather prescribe medication. Good luck, and hope you feel better.

I've been doing the KETO and IF for two years now and I've quit taking ALL prescription meds at this point! The fact is that the correct DIET is the most important thing you can do for yourself, and getting off all meds is the second most important thing. That's the stone cold truth! AND, Dr. Berry's book is educational and inspirational, so READ IT! And, btw, I'm 70 and don't ever remember feeling better!

Questfortruth Go you! Turned 71 yesterday, and only really learned about carnivore and keto diets 9 months ago. I still take a couple of supplements like D3 and magnesium cal., but I am off all prescriptions for thyroid, heart, cholesterol, and just pain. My doc double-checked my bloodwork both early Dec and early June and says he’s never seen anyone my age (especially a woman) with such good cholesterol, told me I made the proper decision to stop taking levo on my own, and everything was in great order EXCEPT I was dehydrated...not from lack of water., my fav go-to beverage, but from adding too much salt to plain water, and over-salting everything...which had been my old doc’s prescription for my perpetually low, low BP. Cleaned that up. Now to work on inflammation a bit more for long term nerve pain I thought was caused by severe head injury decades ago. If I can find THAT solution, I many WANT to live a lot longer. Wish me luck.

My Mother, rest her soul, was on the majority of the drugs you mentioned. I fought to get her off some of them but her Doc always won. I saw how the three statin's they had her on reduced her mental acuity and her mobility. At least I was able to reduce this situation to one statin, ha! My Mother had faith in drugs as her cure all, I decided to be the opposite. At 63 years I am currently not on any prescription drugs. My cardiologist put me on Tribenzor. After passing out repeatedly, I informed him and he lowered the dosage. Started having pains in lower left abdomen. Had tests done but found nothing. He finally put me on the lowest dosage of this drug and I was still feeling light-headed and dizzy to the point where I passed out one night while using the restroom and cut the back of my head on the corner of my glass shower dorr which required stitches. He switched me over to 40 mg of valsartan just as I started keto. Began feeling even more light-headed and abdominal pains got worse and developed IBS which I now take dicyclomine for the pain. Would love to get off these meds and back to my regular lifestyle.

I'm on 2 of these meds right now. Unfortunately, I need them for my blood pressure. But, I was able to completely stop metformin for my type 2 diabetes with a ketogenic diet. My A1C went from 7 to 4.5. Then I was encouraged to incorporate carbs back into my diet... 🤦‍♀️ It's now up to 5.1. I recently cut the carbs back out and won't be eating them anymore. They're not worth it.

Fresh raw grapefruit or fresh raw grapefruit juice lowers blood pressure. One half of a grapefruit may be adequate, but some people may need more. Eating raw cucumbers or fresh raw cucumber juice helps soothe stretched arteries, veins, capillaries and nerves. If blood pressure ever becomes low eating fresh raw garlic will help to stabilize it quickly. High blood pressure is the body’s method of stretching, cleaning and healing congested arteries and veins. Unlike what is said in the media and portrayed on most medical websites many heart attacks occur during times of low blood pressure and low cholesterol levels. High blood pressure is necessary to vital arterial health when blood passages are congested from overweight or hardened arteries and veins. High blood pressure should never be suppressed with drugs. High blood pressure in itself does not harm the body. Following the Ketogenic diet with lots of raw fats(key to good health)helps eliminate this problem permanently.

Do not believe anything that Caleb Caleb said in his comment. First of all don’t eat grapefruit it can be very harmful. Do some research on it and you will see what I mean. Second thing is: just about everything else he typed is incorrect to such a degree that he’s obviously not in the medical profession and/or a nutritionist. The things he said about blood pressure are sophomoric at best. High blood pressure is a serious condition and can cause all sorts of problems. It’s not the body’s way of doing anything, it’s a symptom of something else entirely. Your body doesn’t “decide” to raise it’s blood pressure to stretch your arteries or anything else. Just ignore everything in his comment and keep watching videos from this doctor. He is very knowledgeable and genuinely cares about the people he is helping. Cheers

After a year, I dropped Statins after reading abt that they’re more damaging than good for me! But I continued the other stroke meds till last year when I started getting muscle fatigue & started losing my balance & fell on my face twice whilst looking after my 11-mth old granddaughter! Once in my daughter’s house & once outside on a gentle slope at a public library! Thank God Almighty the pram with my grandkiddo didn’t become a runaway pram on the main road! 1st time watching ur channel & I find it VERY informative & easy to understand! Kudos! I do have a question though. These days, I'm finding it challenging to even discuss ur health with most Dr's. Or, just say I ask a family member, "Well, what did the Dr say", after a visit. No lie, u always hear, " He/she said something about this. Or, "They said something about that". I'm starting to feel convinced Dr's are being taught to always leave a question mark over a patient's head. They seem to create an environment that'll have u feeling like u can't ask to many questions about yourself & or, they have almost no time to explain much to u. I've learned more from just watching this one video than I have in a good while coming from a Dr. U didn't make things long & drawn out, but u conveyed the info to the point & understandable. I'd really like to know how to communicate with ur Dr effectively. So, when asked by family, "What did the Dr say", we'll be able to convey that with our family. Thx Sir

A week later I got a letter from his office saying I was an uncooperative patient and that I refused to follow his orders, that I was no longer welcome to be a patient at his practice, and to please find another doctor immediately. Wow, I can tell you that is a scary position to be in and it caused me a lot of anxiety - basically it scared me! Developed gut issues and dermatitis after having gall bladder removed late 2018 and developing a massive infection for which I was prescribed antibiotics . Steroid ointment did little for dermatitis. Started taking natural Probiotic, Biotin and used raw leaf aloe vera to address dermatitis. Gut issues have resolved. Dermatitis has improved but not completely resolved.

I was constantly prescribed antibiotics, including Amoxicillin, Augmentin, etc. etc. etc. Most of the prescriptions were unnecessary. They would just prescribe it every time I got a cold, because of my asthma. I still have to take oral prescription antifungals twice a month, plus multiple topical courses of vaginal yeast infection medication (it comes out to 7-14 days a month) PLUS daily boric acid and I STILL have a recurrence of vaginal yeast infection every month. I’m glad I am taking all that stuff because my frequency of symptoms went from 30 days a month to about 2-4 days a month. But it’s ALL caused by the antibiotics. I just don’t even know how to reverse it, at this point.

@@brittaolson6550 Have you tried taking a high quality probiotics and prebiotics supplement? They can help restore a better gut micro biome balance. Obviously with other health issues, I’d talk to your doctor before doing anything. Reading up on it can give more info to ask about. Of course, traditional docs or PCP’s don’t always know about such things in detail, unless they are specialists. (Nothing against them… There is so much to know in the field of medicine, that it can be hard to keep up even for those with specialties within specialties!) You might want to check out a functional medicine doctor. Also, look into leaky gut, as it can lead to or exacerbate many different issues, such as autoimmune diseases. Another thing that some say helps with fungal issues is an extract called Agricept-L. I buy it on Amazon for viral illnesses, but reviews show how many different ways people use it. I’ve used it topically on a fungal issue I had with my eyebrow. Though being it has grapefruit seed extract and other citrus extracts, it can interfere with certain medications when taken internally. Again, talking with a professional would be best. Especially with asthma, I have no idea how these things could affect that. Just worth looking into at least.

Then you will not have to be worried about remembering. Just have a tiny notebook just for this purpose. Also..at the beginning of the day put the number of pills for the day into a seperate small bottle. And always hide your big pill bottle away from prying eyes so nobody gets tempted to try one.

I am suspicious that I even need this medication. I do get side effects from it. Is it appropriate for a doc to prescribe during a time of stress and she has never seen me before? And then tell me I’ll need this all my life? I eat keto, exercise. Also trying to take my own BP brings on waves of anxiety so readings are not accurate. What to do?

The same thing happens to me every time I'm in a medical situation with myself. I had hernia surgery a month ago, and they almost cancelled the surgery because my BP was through the roof. I convinced the anesthesiologist to go ahead with the surgery, despite the warnings that they would have to take me to emergency if my BP didn't come down at the completion of surgery. I was fine. Flashback years ago, I was doing a retirement type job, driving a parts truck (some were large and I had to have a Medical Card). After my mom died, I panicked every time it was me being examined. My BP would go to 190/120. They prescribed BP meds, but they didn't work to bring it down. Oh, when I was home with a glass of wine, in the evening, it would go down to 90/70. However, when I would take my BP at home in the morning, those waves of anxiety came over me (I guess I was thinking like I was in the doctor's office) and it would be over 140/90, which was the minimum to get the Medical Card. Not that I always behave myself these days, but three years ago, I quit drinking anything for three months. Exercised vigorously five days a week, and started eating better. My weight dropped 38 lbs and my BP dropped below 120/80 (used to be the gold standard). Even when the anxiety would come over me, my BP would stay in check. I'm thinking (at 66yo) that I need to get back on the 'straight and narrow.'

I eliminated alcohol and sugar first. Then I restricted my carbs. I lost 30 pounds in 3 months and noticed I didn't need to continue taking most of my prescription medications. I also noticed that my heartburn and indigestion were gone. But the one I really liked not being around anymore was the restless leg syndrome because I was having insomnia. Now I feel better, look better, and get enough sleep. What a relief it is!

I went on a medication "holiday" because I felt so awful! I was on a statin, Omeprazole, a beta blocker for blood pressure, HCTZ, and Synthroid. I stopped everything except the thyroid med. I felt amazing. I now take Armour Thyroid and am working on trying to get off that too. My doc just shook her head and laughed at me - but my BP stays WNL, and so does the cholesterol. Who's laughing now? ;) On a side note - started drinking Fiji water and ACV; heartburn is gone!

Because I found your video on metabolic syndrome and some other videos on how to shop I changed my life in 30 days! In January I lost 25 lbs, 1 blood pressure med, I lowered my A1C. I still struggle with my thyroid numbers because I don't have one! I would love to hear alternative ways to help with the medication. I have stalled in weightloss and I am working against the grain here.

Dr. Berry that was very informative and at the same time scary because out of the 10 medications I'm taking 2 of them. Synthroid, Albuterol I also was taking Omeprazole but was changed to a different med about 3 years ago. My Dr. told me that my thyroid was going crazy one time she checked I was hypo 2 months later I was hyper. She changes my Synthroid strength every time my thyroid changes. I go to a Veterans Hospital and see my Dr. there. Well thanks for all of the info and I started Keto today hopefully I do it right. I've been on Synthroid since 1994.

I had out of control high blood pressure since the age of 17. No med, or combination of meds ever resulted in readings below 140/90. Three years ago I started a keto diet. I quit taking the meds after one week my blood pressure initially rose slightly: 155/95. However, within 2 months, my blood pressure dropped to an average 110/70. My aches and pains went away. My night blindness went away. My eczema completely disappeared after 30 years of it. There is no denying the benefits of keto. As a side note; I take ubiquinol, omega 3's, D3/k2/m7, and magnesium. Sometimes i take b12 and C, and cologen peptides, but not daily.

God bless you, Dr Ken. This world is so crazy and people are expected to know these things that you have broken down for us. Nobody ever talked about natural ways to help with many of these things. I wasn't so apprehensive about these things before my husband died a few months ago. I don't have an advocate anymore and I know that I was a very strong advocate for my husband. When he fell and hit his head and went into a coma, the neurologist said he's not going to wake up. I did not accept that and I sat by his side for a month and I suctioned him for the first week because he was choking on sputum. They were not going to put him on a ventilator and they were just going to let him die. I stayed there all day and night and said, no. He needs a little support. They saw that I was going to watch him every second. He woke up and regained all of the senses that they said he would never be able to have again. Now, it's frightening to be alone and to have to make every single decision and have no human contact. I appreciate you very much. Sincerely, Carly

Just like my parents, super stubborn, but I realized they're acting just like any other person you will try to help if he doesn't care what you have to say, doesn't respect your opinion, or just close minded. I learned it the hard way so I stick to myself and help only those who show interest, they usually get interested because my results are speaking for themselves.
