On one hand you could say the huge break before the playoffs started greatly benefited a team full of worn down veterans like the Lakers. On the other hand, given that HCA was basically nonexistent you’d think that would be a huge disadvantage for a #1 seed like the Lakers (which is part of why I think Miami had an easier time than they would normally) but they won it all anyway

All 30 teams went through the same season, had access to same or similar strength and conditioning training, had the same injury risks, etc. Each team had opportunities to have done better in several aspects, each champion was better than the rest in maximizing their opportunities.

A very even playing field. I'll take the NBA players words for it who said it was the hardest thing they've had to do in their career over some random dude who watches the game on occasion. You just named a bunch of players and teams out East also which has nothing to do with The Lakers finishing out West. You play who is In front of you. If you go back in history there's all kinds of championships won because of injury etc. It's the way the game works. This is exactly what I was talking about when I said a casual fan would say this.
