Udon and soups from *Okinawa are good for health.* The light soups are good for digestion and intestinal health. This is one of the reasons that the people in Okinawa live a very long life. We can be very glad to live by their example.

Thank you for making these Okinawan videos. My grandmother came from Okinawa and I remember eating many of these foods with her. There is something I didn't see that she made quite often, and that's fall apart pork ribs. She had a technique to boil with soy sauce and a type of vinegar, that would just melt the meat down to the point you don't have to chew. Lol It sounds pretty good doesn't it. I wonder if Okinawa does that too? The red bean buns are my favourite aswell. Edit: Nice videos👍

I was born in Naha and I am half Okinawan and Italian. I watch your videos almost every day. I love Tabieats❣❣❣ I've been stateside for almost 50 years. I've been back to Okinawa once in 1990 and I'm hoping to go back in November this year. My mama will be 88 years old and I want to celebrate her birthday with her.💜 I'm so anxious to try King Taco and drink Orion beer. Thank you for featuring Okinawa on several videos. I've watched a dozen times already. 💜

Thanks TabiEats for the list! 1. Goya champuru (stir-fried bitter gourd with pork) 2. Okinawan soba 3. Umi budo (sea grapes) 4. Jimami tofu (made from peanuts & potato starch) 5. Rafute (fatty pork cooked with Okinawan black sugar & Awamori alcohol?) 6. Sata Andagi (Okinawan donut) 7. Taco rice (esp. at King Taco) 8. Tropical fruits 9. Blue Seal Ice-cream 10. Chinsuko (most popular Okinawan souvenir to bring home. Lard used instead of butter)

Same here.Grew up on that stuff...and sure enough I'm in Okinawa eating the same thing hahaha. Okinawans also have a form of "Longonissa" forgot what they called it, but I remember seeing it. I read it came to Okinawa by way of Hawaii, which in turn got it's influence from the Portuguese. BTW best Longnissa is the Portuguese "Linguica", had it in Porto. If you're ever in Porto. Look for the Linguica.

Yum!!! :D I hope you guys do more Street Food videos as well!! Also, I love sea grapes xD Growing up in the Philippines, I used to eat a bowlful of these!! Since moving to Australia, been caving for it and hoping to visit my hometown next Feb xD Just a quick question, are there a lot of Filipinos in Okinawa like in Hawaii? Because ube (purple yam) is a favourite Filipino flavour- we love it as an ice cream, a cake or even as a snack itself- grating some boiled fresh ube and mixing it with condensed milk :D You can use freshly-made ube as a snack or condiment (kinda like azuki) especially in halo-halo or to make ube ice cream/cake!!! Please try!

Orion is the best beer made in Japan I've tried so far. Kirin is the second best. Sapporo has a big, malty bottom end that is probably popular, but I personally don't like. Asahi tastes similar to Budweiser. Not bad, but not much flavor to speak of.
