I have an electric pump for a 5gallon jug that I modified from taking 2 D batteries to taking a rechargeable 18650. One charge lasts for weeks and I have a bunch of them for running flashlights along with solar panels to charge them, though I have not tested charging them off solar. Edit: I chose the electric pump years ago because I was concerned about the manual pump style maintaining the airtight seal it needs to operate, it works by pushing air into the bottle forcing water up the tube, and at the time I was concerned about my grandparents being able to operate it the bellows style if they were to ride out a storm with us. I used the electric one nearly daily for around 4 years and it finally gave out and I had to replace it with a new one.

Realistically, if you need to use a Water BOB, it's likely that a bathtub will not be functional. If the grid is down for any length of time, the sewer system probably will not work. But under normal, short-term electrical outages--if there is no massive flooding to create other issues--your tub probably should be reserved for your child rather than water storage. If you use it there is no way to get it perfectly dry so you can store it. Now I keep 2 clear painters drop clothes large enough to cover the tub. I got that propane adapter to fill my propane torch bottle ; but for the one burner stove, I got an adjustable regulator with hose, and ordered a second adapter with the same threads as the little bottle that fits the hose. So instead of the one pound I have a 15 pound bottle on the one burner Bernz-O-Matic stove. Two of the little bottles are $9.88, and one of the 15 pound bottles can be changed out for $20 if you shop around. So it is cheaper. The regulator and hose was around $21, and the adapter to the one pound bottle threads was $14. But like you said, I have the wood stove going now some, so it's easy to just set stuff on it instead. A guy is coming to get one of the outbuildings at the other place, so I took the wire that was running out to it today, and am using it here to put a receptacle for my freezer and washing machine off of the inverter. I have a cord running to it now, so it will be nice to be able to shut the door again. I have two trees to cut and pine to go get for kindling. The cold wet nasty sloppy rainy gloomy weather is just ahead. I have a 5000 watts Winco generator that I cut the gas engine off of, ordering a GX200 engine for it, and they hope to be married soon so that I can weld.

You slide 3 canned heat cans into the unit and you can cook and heat up to a 200sq ft room with no electricity - it’s fan is powered by the heat coming off the canned heat. I get the same brand as you. Take care!
@Golden30009972 жыл бұрын
I would NOT recommend the water bob. Two reasons - first at 8lbs a gallon, you are looking at 800 lbs concentrated weight. You would need a structural analysis to be sure your floor could take it. Also, most people have one bathtub and that can be used for many things and types of drainage. I have 6 aquatainers. I think they are 7 gallons each. Each filled is about 50 -60 lbs. I bought rolling plant stands and have 1 container on each of them fixed with a bungee cord. I have one filled and the others standing ready. Since they are heavy, I can roll them around as I need them and distribute the weight. Right now they are all under my dining table, mostly hidden by a cloth. I am thinking about getting two more. During hurricane preparedness, I put all of my plastic garbage cans (clean because I use plastic liners) and I do fill them in the bathtub. But I can empty them into smaller containers more easily that something like the water bob.
@Golden30009972 жыл бұрын
I have water purification drops in the filled aquatainer and several more bottles of drops on standby.

@carlabythelake81622 жыл бұрын
@Christine Natale My son is a builder. I asked him about that 800 pounds. You are 100% correct. Most structures would Not be rated for that much weight. But, in an emergency perhaps the benefit would outweigh (no pun intended) the risk. I also recycle my juice containers to hold water. I would like some of those 5 gallon containers someday too, though.
@Golden30009972 жыл бұрын
One more point - even though it (a water bob) has a spigot, it is likely that it will not drain all the way to the bottom. If even 1/4 of the water is left in and you had to move it to drain some out, that would still be 200 lbs to try to shift!

Wait you can refill the small propane tanks with a large one? Can you demonstrate ?
@sunshinestatesurvival2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'll try to make a video on that!

If you refill the Colman 1 pound can, you cannot travel with it in your vehicle without breaking the law. There are one-pound cans that are made to be refilled & can be taken in your car or truck.

if the mic clip is the issue, use a chip clip amd glue to fix

It wasn't the clip, I literally cracked it open and the USB C port disconnected from the chip inside, like the weld points broke apart. Lol

Hi Sunshine, question, have you ever used one of those Solar shower bags, being in Florida you probably have more sunny days than I do in NC. Was thinking about adding one for off grid dishwashing. I have to know more about What the Clips go to. I have looked back at some of your other videos and couldn't find it.. Also does the security camera, whistle or beep..? I think most people breaking in go for an easy target. Personally I think if one squeeze a professional security system into their budget they are Well worth it, with doors and window sensors notification... Thanks for sharing, ps give me the name of the personal protection that goes with the clips please.. We are using byrna product's but always thinking about extra personal protection of all types

Oh yeah, I have one and they work great! I was surprised how hot the water actually got in a few hours. Because there's a lot of water weight hanging on it, I would definitely suggest reinforcing the plastic area where you hang it from, as it may split under that weight. Some are made better than others. You can really make a solar heated water unit out of any receptacle, if you line it with black contractor bags and leave it in the sun, but the hanging bag with a shower nozzle is convenient for using for actual showers.

They also make water pumps (for the 5 gal water jugs) that run on a rechargable battery, charges via USB. Mine cost around $10.

It's so weird people gotta order normal food online, that should be readily available on Walmart shelves! I know something you might need. Maybe you could invest in an inexpensive mountain bicycle. What if the grid goes down and there's no gas or fuel? A bicycle is the next best thing... Good exercise too!
@sunshinestatesurvival2 жыл бұрын
Yep, I actually bought my son and I bicycles last month for both of those reasons! I need to get in better shape, and I thought it couldn't hurt to have an alternate form of transportation if gas becomes unaffordable or unavailable, or if there's something like an EMP.

Wait. You are an Amazon shopper and no Nano Silver water? Type nano silver in the search bar. All kinds of silver health and beauty products come up. I have gotten the Silvex wound healing gel, SilverSol throat lozenges, colloidal silver soap, and Silver Doc silver hydrosol which is my choice brand for injestable silver water. If you have any questions I have been using all these products for the past three years religiously.
@sunshinestatesurvival2 жыл бұрын
What makes you think I don't have silver on hand? Lol. I have and use colloidal silver for all of the many benefits. I absolutely love it!
@clintmatthews43422 жыл бұрын
@@sunshinestatesurvival why haven't you mentioned it in any videos. And colloidal silver particle size is too large to effectively fight C19 or the vaxes. You will need nano silver with a silver particle size of 5 nm or less. C-19 and vaxes can pass through the blood/brain barrier. Nano Silver can as well. A great backup to nano silver is sodium borate (20 Mule Team Borax). It also can pass through the blood/brain barrier and kill the spike proteins.

I also bought the corn, there are only 3 of us, do I have to keep the rest that I don't use in the fridge or do I add another oxygen absorber to the can and keep it in our cupboard? I also got some ham in the can. I have some of those shallow plastic containers holding food under our beds, found them at Goodwill. Thanks for your videos!
@RiceaRoni3542 жыл бұрын
You can grind it too. It last quite a while opened. Just put an oxygen absorber in it
@sunshinestatesurvival2 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking that after using a portion of the freeze dried corn, it will be fine to add an O2 absorber, but I wouldn't put it back in the No 10 can, because that lid won't have an airtight seal. Maybe put the reminder in a canning jar with an O2 absorber
