More $$ tree items that are vitally important are changed of clothes. You can get t-shirts and socks at every $$ tree. Also hand and feet warmers. Get a stack of the small potpie size foil pans so you can prepare food. I know you prefer not to cook but for extended periods you will need more than just trail mix and snacks. My suggestion would be to practice preparing small nutritious meals at home. Also get a mini propane tank and some kind of grill top. You may find yourself in a situation where you don't have access to wood for a fire. I realize these suggestions are for extreme situations. But as an army brat married to a US Navy veteran I've been taught to be as prepared as possible. Also consider personal protection. It's your choice how you want to address that.

I would use the tin foil use as a make shift solor oven.I have the shower curtain liner in each go back to make a shelter and have tea light candles in a medicine bottle along with a few matches and strik e plate from empty boxes of matches also you could dip cotton rounds in wax as a fire starters. Old medicine bottles work great to keep things safe and dry and they float

For Dollar Tree items, that was a pretty good bugout bag haul. For my bugout bag, I would get water, food, hygiene, medicines, first aid stuff, some entertainment items, etc., at Dollar Tree. There are things I won't get at Dollar Tree. Like you said, the knife and other items we should invest in more quality items.

When I first began prepping, I made our packs from Dollar Tree.. They have some great items, no need to go expensive for short term survival. We used our DT bags 3 times in evacuations. I did add mini sawyer water filters for each bag. If we got separated each of us could safely drink mountain water. We live in the forest so depending on one's area, I would suggest Dollar Tree's Tool Bench 4x6 blue tarp... pack 2 tarps /bag + their leaf trash or heavy trash bags to fill with leaves to sleep on if no adequate shelter available. Tool Bench 40ft diamond braided rope or TB 25 ft paracord , can make a ridge line for the tarp etc.. Tool Bench safety glasses or goggles. Tool Bench 5 pack bungee cords. TB disposable masks (protect from smoke etc.) There's much more DT has to offer to make a decent bag, these are just some of the items we actually used when we had to bug out. Prepare and stay safe everyone. 😊

If you watch for the medicated lip balm, it usually has an SPF rating, and though not great sunscreen, can protect your ears, cheeks and nose from sun burning. Did a lot of Dollar Tree first aid kits and grub stakes with my Boy Scout Troop. I used to give each patrol $20 to buy their groceries for a weekend outing, to teach them how to budget.

My additions would be cup of soup packet and tea bags individually wrapped. And for medical would be allergy med. Ive never had allergies and last year I swelled up so bad and I couldn't breath. I ran to my everything bag and sure as **** I found Claritin from the dollarstore that I had bought and had instant relief. I thought I was having a reaction to beer but it was the pollen that was on my deck. I've since went to Costco and stacked allergy medicine lol. I like your idea of the toiletries bag. I am going to keep an eye out for those. Keep gathering even if u don't think u will need something. It might just save u someday xx

Sunshine.... Darlin.... Esculent, excellent!! Your ideas are terrific, but lack practical application. Before the SHTF, take your sweet self and your hubby and/or kids and try spending a night out with your kit. Even if it's only in your backyard. If you are expecting to encounter scarious, life and death problems along the way, you need to upgrade your kit... easy to do on KZbin or Prepper channels. You're off to a good start, but you have aways to go. Keep at it and may God bless you. Ax

Pads and tampons are also good for wounds. Shower curtains, tarps, and garbages bags for shelter. The small peanut butter cups and my DT have individual bottles of Boost. The bottle would be good for other things. And to keep in the vehicle but light enough they could be carried or attached to the bag and have multiple uses are the sun windshield covers and the cooler bags. Now is a good time to look at the garden area. The small tools like the spade and clippers. And the open top watering can is perfect as an urinal. Anti diarrhea meds. Sometimes they have the flashlights that you squeeze and don't have to worry about batteries. Also headlamps. Also a poncho, baby blankets and pillows cases.

The net bag could also be a refrigerator system. Put items in and drop in an area where you are getting water to filter. The water should keep it cold or cool. Another option would be a sling if you have a arm injury. Use a cord or even bungee cord ( from the dollar tree) hook on either end and rest arm in( maybe cut end? Put cord around neck. This was awesome. I love the grey woman concept because mine is obviously a bug out bag!

I watched a bunch of your videos yesterday. Trying to catch up. ..lol It does my heart good to see young people doing the things! Great ideas! Dollar Tree is where I started and still find myself in there a LOT! Next time you're in there check for bungee cords and carabiner clips 😉

My hearing is horrible today, Sunshine, so you might have said this and I just didn't hear you. If you think you're going to be walking a lot, you should include sunscreen. Great ideas! DT comes through again.

Very informative tyvm. Also I'd had a pretty yucky day...and I actually laughed out loud when you suggested to play dress up out in the woods 🤣. Ty girl been with you a while now. Love the cooking with prep's videos too. Keep up the good work 🙂

I never considered putting a charger & cable in my GHB/BOB. Nor did I think about using panty hose as a pre-filter. Thanks for the tips!

I am old and live in hot Florida, we live in a rural area, so not bugging out LOL I keep a small cooler in my car that I throw bottle water and snack crackers in, when I go somewhere. I can't keep food and water in my car permanently as it gets too hot. I do keep a toolbox jumper cables, and first aid items in there. But those are good ideas for those on the run.

I understand and honestly bugging out is the last thing I would want to do, but to have the stuff in my vehicle just in case, at least makes me feel better. I've had so many instances where somebody had something go wrong and I was like, oh I have something in my car that can help with that!
