The Uyghurs are an oppressed Muslim minority in the Xinjiang region of China. The government has put millions of them, children, and otherwise, in concentration camps, which are branded as "re-education" camps. These camps have even had reports of organ harvesting, and the fact that people are tortured is widely accepted. The Uyghur homeland, Urumqi, is widely monitored, with cameras lining every street. If I got something wrong, I'm sorry, I am just a high school student with background information on this topic bc of debate.

Wow, I never realized how Uyghur cuisine is kind of similar to Persian food. We have polo too! what's happening to the Uyghurs in China is a monstrosity and the lack of international action is so reminiscent of how we've ignored the Armenian genocide for so long and even how the holocaust was ignored during world war II. On a lighter note you guys should definitely explore middle eastern food on this show, we have so much to offer !!!

Uyghurs are very close relatives of Uzbeks and Kazakh - they have no connection to Chinese ethnicity. That is what pisses the nationalistic, shameful Chinese government

You want to talk about the current political culture, go Google Uyghurs. Long story short, China has been putting them in concentration camps by the millions. Right now. In 2019. But the mainstream news media won’t tell you about that, they just want you thinking “Orange man bad”.

@@zhikangchen1063Must one visit North Korea to know that they are oppressed? Same logic here, even without visiting Xinjiang it is clear that the Uyghurs are being oppressed and many injustices have been committed against them. If you wish to deny this, you would be absolutely sick unless you have evidence to prove otherwise.
