Here are the reasons I bought a 2020 Tundra over an F150, RAM 1500, Sierra 1500, Silverado, or the new Tundra

@@kedrevs4037 let me know how easily it goes on. I am actually thinking about buying a 2nd Tundra just to have it since they aren't making them like that anymore. I have my 2018, but over the course of the next 30 years, I might need another one. Buying a low mileage, 2020 or 2021 and drive it just enough to keep it healthy is what I am thinking about.

I had a black 2020 black Tundra platinum and traded it off with 15,000 miles. I liked it and knew it would last forever but after having it a few months I decided to seek out what I really wanted which was the 2021 Tundra TRD PRO in Lunar Rock. The ride and look is way superior on the PRO. I get so many compliments on my PRO and I’m not sure if I ever got one on my platinum. I paid msrp and actually made $5000 on the platinum. Just hit 28,000 miles on the odometer. Zero regrets

Excellent decision & welcome back. I did a similar decision back when I knew the 21's were the last of the 5.7. So, I traded in my '16 Limited 4x4 double cab for the same exact model in '21 but in MGM color. Got one of the last ones built. One of the first things I did was monitor trans temps and quickly realized that it was a cost savings move by Toyota. If one intends to tow, the cooler is needed. I installed one pretty quickly. Now, the temps are similar to my '16. Another thing I noticed was the throttle response is much improved and feels more powerful. And, the OEM brake controller actually works well. My '16 never worked correctly and I installed the Tekonsha P3 to rectify. No issues at all with my '21.
@kedrevs40372 ай бұрын
I had heard that about the earlier stock brake controllers. My 18 brake controller always worked well too.

I bought a new 07 Tundra SR5 4*4 5.7 . I hate it!! First off the starter went out at 250k and a front wheel bearing changed out. Nothing is broke on it, seat fabric looks new. It's my daily driver. Use it for everything. It has 304k on it. Not good, it won't stop running!!!!!
I picked up a 21 and have loved it. I do tow a bit with mine. Have had zero issues hauling my v8 4runner on a car trailer. Looking forward to seeing g your temps with the rv. The 5.7 has some grunt with the 4.30, absolutely love it.

I have this exact truck 2020 model with 120k miles. Not a single hiccup and does everything I need it to do. Everyone talked about the gas mileage being so poor, but on the highway I have gotten 18.9-19.1 mpg which is similar to what my previous Ecoboost V6 got running 75 on the highway. Now the mpg does drop when pulling or running the mountain roads, but all trucks do. I doubt I will ever sell it. Maybe one day I will purchase a new Tundra after a few years when the bugs are worked out, but the 2020 will always be in the garage. It’s truly the last of the “true” trucks without the start-stop feature and multi-speed transmissions. I was always a Ford guy, but my last F150 just was not the quality of my Tundra. I’m close to putting my 2nd set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S on but the new version. When you go to purchase new tires, move up a notch to a 275/60, it improves the ride, looks better, and makes my speedometer dead on. From the factory my speed was always off 1-2 mph with the stock size. 275 is what should have come on the truck. I have 76k miles on my current set and they still have life left. Great video and nice truck!

I Ordered a Platinum with every available option in windchill Pearl in June of 2021. The truck arrived at my dealer early August of 21. My truck has 37,000 miles on it and it’s been flawless not a single warranty issue to date. I did add the RAS HD to my suspension, Revolver X4S rolling bed cover and just replaced the junk Bridgestone Tires with the Continental Terrain Contact H/T’s in the XL load and they are amazing. I was on the fence with those or the Michelins but decided on Continental after watching the snow and ice comparison on Tire Rack. The Continental out performs the Michelin in every test. I can confirm the grip in snow and ice is superior to any other tire I have driven on. I was driving through 12-14” deep snow in RWD only to test them and they never broke loose or slipped. Very impressive this was also uphill on unplowed residential roads. Love my tundra I also pull a 7,000 lb 28’ travel trailer with mine.

I bought the same truck new off the lot in 2020 in a TRD Pro package. The only thing I miss that I had in my former Tundra was the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM). The TRD Pro also have the fox shocks suspension that makes for a softer ride but I know that is not ideal for towing. I love my truck and I don't plan on letting it go anytime soon. I am pushing 75K on it and I think this will be my SHTF truck even when I am ready to buy a new replacement. It's also blacked out all around, including the accent pieces like the handles and badges.

I created a access hole in the skid plate by Six inch diameter access plate to the oil filter. I ordered the ultimate trans cooler kit cost 1000 dollars Had the hard line and Toyota thermostat and rear TRD sway bar? I installed both. I tow a travel trailer but getting out of camping but still have boats so it will still be used as a tow vehicle. I only have 6000 miles on it as I have five other vehicles, RAV 4 and a 22 corolla hatch Manuel ( last good corolla no CVT or turbo for me) Nissan Frontier, BMW Convertible and 1993 Chevy 3500. Just a note with the price of gas and camping I came to the conclusion that it is cheaper to just drive my Corolla and see the sites and get a room. Towing can be stressful price of fuel and now cost of camp sites. The Chevy sits at the vacation home just to put the boat in and take it out and go to Home Depot. I love my 21 tundra SR5 with TRD OR package. At times I feel like the truck is big for my needs, I do miss the 1st gen that I had as I felt there was still a decent amount of space and it was just a truck. But my 21 has hauled everything from deer to 400lb bull sharks, has taken road trips with the whole family and everything in between. There are times I wished I got one with the leather/softec inside with the kids and dogs, but that’s an easy add with katskin seats later if I really want to. Aesthetically- I like the 20-21 because they got rid of the antenna on the hood. I do plan to add a transmission cooler later. I don’t care if Toyota says it’s unnecessary- that’s one of the things that I shake my head at.

I also have two tundra’s a 2017 1794 with the transmission cooler and a 2021 without the transmission cooler. First thing I did is get online and get a factory transmission cooler set up where it comes with all the factory parts you need to install. The only thing that is not factory is the cooler itself because the cooler from the factory is part of the air conditioner condenser. I am very glad I did this now my transmission temperatures are where they should be. I am disappointed in Toyota for doing this. They should never have sold a Toyota with towing package without having the transmission cooler installed. The transmission gets very hot without having that transmission cooler. Install that kit before you start towing your airstream don’t hurt your transmission. You are like me you understand how fantastic these trucks are. I also purchased a 4Runner before they screwed those all up. The 4L six cylinder engine in the 4Runner is legendary. Enjoy your new truck. I enjoy your videos.

nice review of your new truck. Just so much nicer than the 2022 and beyond. Hopefully toyota can figure it out, but at the moment there is no way I would by a new Tundra. Now finding a 2020 with such low mileage.... well that is supberb. How are the tires on it? I assume with that low mileage that those are still the stock tires?

@@kedrevs4037I do love it! One thing I noticed quickly and it has nothing to do with the truck other than the catalytic converters. Yesterday 4/14/24, my security cameras alerted to activity in the front yard. Some guy, acting like he was out for a run in the rain was checking out the truck, not admiring but took a peek underneath it. I wasn’t home at the time but my cameras recorded it all. Nothing was stolen as the would be thief noticed my cameras and looked down and away as he scurried off. Today I’ll be looking for a catalytic converter security shield… I live in a good area, or was a good area until 2020… I passed the videos along to local PD, hopefully it was just a recon.

I stopped buying used cars because so far, no one/no Carfax shows a oil change interval at 5000 miles, most people who trade in their low mile cars are lease returns or failed to keep financing, these people always go by the book of 10k miles, it just won’t do. The first two oil Change at least, should be 5000 Or less to convince me to buy it. This black one is so beautiful, Platinum is great

I LOVED our 2010 Tundra 4WD, but after Communist Biden shut down our Oil Pipeline and production (which the Supreme Court ruled was Unconstitutional), I simply couldn’t afford 8mpg in the city and 15mpg on the highway. So I bought a used pickup to hold me over. On 2/29/24, I bought a slightly used (6K miles) 23 Tacoma TRD Off Road, double cab, premium and technology plugs with a 6’ bed. I’m quite sure that you’ll Love your Tundra. I know that we really enjoyed ours… Until the Comy took office
@kedrevs40372 ай бұрын
That's the last of the great Tacomas too

@@kedrevs4037 Yea it is. We normally save money to pay cash for our vehicles. In 23 I heard that the 24 Tacoma’s were going to the 4cyl Turb and I didn’t want that, so I started looking for one last year. There’s a ton of TRD Off Road with the Premium and Technology pkgs, and double cab, but the 6’ bed is very rare. I simply couldn’t find one, anywhere. So in February I happened to stop by Toyota to look at an access cab with the 6’ bed. It was the Gutless 4cyl and we needed the 6cyl. The salesman said that they had one in the back and he’d check to see if it was a 6’. It was and I bought it. I don’t like the factory black leather interior so I’m having Katzkin make TRD RED Leather seat covers for my truck. Katzkin will remove the black leather and replace it with the Red. One of my friends has a 23 Tacoma like mine without the premium pls, so he’s already bought the black leather from me, so when Katzkin is doing my truck he’ll have his in as well so they can remove his grey cloth and replace it with my old leather. I’m an old duffer and this will be the last truck I’ll ever own, so I might as well fix it up the way I want it.
