He never claimed to be a cook. He is on MC as a taster . Normally critics are not cooks themselves . Yes, he should be on Masterchef - he is great in that role ! In some other Masterchefs around the world, they do not even choose a critic in his role - they choose a pretty face . There is a reason for using both cooks and us "normals" as testers . I don`t like only professionals to tell us what is good , like in the US or Canadian MC - they tend to be too full of themselves and what they know about food , making their shows more about them than the contestants .

Can't remember the comedian who said it but they stated something along the lines of "You can judge who much people like or dislike you by the level of saucy behaviour your allowed to get away with." I think Gregg may have slightly misjudged how much his co-workers dislike him.

He always seemed slimy to me. When 21 year old me was out with my girl friends in London 11 years ago, one of my friends approached him to ask for an autograph, and he signed a page in her diary, and then asked “I can sign those too if you’d prefer” looking at her breasts. He then asked “if they’ve always been that big” and my friend went red and felt so embarrassed. None of us said anything back as we were so shocked. But yeah he just saw us as pieces of meat, not human beings.

I had the massive misfortune to be one of his customers when he was a fruit and veg man. His produce was terrible and his attitude was worse. I used to tolerate Masterchef because I found the fact that I loved to hate Wallace almost to be a reason for watching, even though I largely enjoyed the show anyway, but his opinionated personality and inflated ego make that impossible now. That plus the fact that most of the contestants already seemed to have good careers in various fields and the selection proces always somehow seemed partisan towards the south-east of England. I've no idea how Wallace ended up on primetime TV as he basically has zero credentials.

"Inside The Factory" is a terrible programme. What could be a really informative show is actually Wallace listening to a factory worker and then patronisingly repeating back to them a four-year-old's version, like we didn't understand what he'd just been told. It should be on CBeebies instead. Wallace: "It's warm in here. Do you heat this warehouse?" Manager: "No we don't need to at all. These beans that have come in here today, they're still warm from the factory. So actually, all the heat from the product is heating the warehouse here." Wallace: "No way! The heat I can feel, because it's markedly warmer than out there, is just the heat from the cooked beans?"

His behaviour on Strictly was pretty awful. Aliona Vilani had already had two years of being messed around and treated with contempt by the Strictly producers, when in 2014 she was paired with Gregg Wallace. On the day of their first performance, he told the press he'd rather be dancing with Karen Hauer. Then on the day they were due to appear together on It Takes Two on the Monday after his elimination in week 2, he again slagged her off in the media, describing her as cold and distant. I'm not bloody surprised! Despite this, she still had the good grace to make supportive comments about him on ITT. He also reportedly spent much of his time on the show making infantile jokes and generally pratting around rather than actually knuckle down in training and learn how to dance.

I am saddened that a man in his position refers to “woman of a certain age”, if he had any saving graces he lost them in using that remark. He’s not my “cup of tea”, and I wouldn’t want to speculate on his behaviour having never met him, but he certainly will have lost a great many supporters because of that remark. I just hope that justice will out, and that any hurt caused by all this to anyone involved is healed. However, I think that there are many more people I’d prefer to watch than Mr Wallace.

I eat food every day so figure I'm as qualified as the potato seller to judge food. He was described as a master grocer, in essence this meant he owned his own barrow and may have had others working for him, not that he is particularly knowledgeable about the products he sells. I do find it disgraceful that proper chefs are criticised by him on MasterChef - The Professionals as if he understands anything about food preparation. One supposes he is there to provide the deciding vote if Marcus Wareing and Monica Galetti disagree. The concept of the show is pretty poor, the contestants are given specific time sections to prepare the dishes and are pressured to cook to time. I doubt if I was eating at Marcus (Wareing's) or Mere (Galetti's) they would be that bothered by how long they kept their clients waiting, arguing good food takes time to prepare. The presence of Wallace highlights the BBC's penchant for using individuals in roles they are not qualified to do...Ainsley Harriet was a children's entertainer but is now a celebrity chef...go figure

Are you not aware that there is always intense pressure of time in every professional kitchen ? If you keep customers waiting, they will never visit your premises a second time. Masterchef very much needs a lay person to balance the professional chefs - whether Wallace is the best person for that job is of course a hot topic at the moment.

Me and my wife were in Borough market in London. It was early morning, traders were setting up, so there was a bit of background noise. Totally understandable in a London market. Then we heard a voice coming from somewhere, WAY louder than the hubbub of the market; we both thought it was familiar. Then along came Wallace...of course the voice was his, talking to a gaggle of people...presumably Masterchef contestants. When you are louder than the background noise of a London traders' market, you know you have a self-awareness problem!😂

He says only "women of a certain age" on Celebrity Masterchef complain about him. That's because ordinary competitors and staff of the programme are worried about being taken off the programme or sacked by management supporting their "star". Celebrities tend not to have that worry, but even so, are circumspect as he seems to have the support of the BBC hierarchy. God knows why - I've always thought he was just not very nice.

I couldn't help but notice the way Wallace used to behave towards Cherry Healey when they made the "Inside the Factory" series. When Cherry would be speaking direct to camera, Wallace would stand to one side and stare at her with a horrible leer on his face. She was unaware of it because she was focused on the camera. However, she must have noticed his leering when she watched the playbacks. I always thought he was a despicable bloke. It was hard to turn your TV on at times without him being all over it like a rash. Hopefully we have seen the last of the idiot.

After years of enjoying food without worrying about food allergies, i suddenly had an allergic reaction after eating a prawn salad. My face blew up, got hot and itched....i took an anti histamine and it went away, but i've been warned the next one could be serious....or it might never happen again, take your pick. This compilation has some valid points to make, but you can character assassinate most famous people by condensing their errors, and public faux pas in to nine and a half minutes. I am not defending Gregg Wallace, I thought he was typical loud and laddish, but he is someone who has stumbled into or upon people who just will not tolerate his brand of personality, I think had he been famous in the late 70's and 80's his questionable behaviour would not have been in question- he is the wrong person in the wrong time, and wrong place. What Gregg Wallace is experiencing now indicates just how times have changed and what people of similar (famous) standing to him will not accept or tolerate, any lewd comments and behaviour should never be tolerated if it is making some one uncomfortable. This video will always be relevant to the cause.
