Did you know that he and Storm were married? That’s right Storm of the X Men comic books. They were also one of Marvel’s most beloved couples of all time.
Black Panther also went through a brief name change because of the Black Panther Party. He briefly went by Black Leopard. He was also temporarily replaced by White Tiger, a biracial white cop who took the place of Black Panther.

The movie exceeded all my expectations as a Marvel Comics girl from as far back as the 70s. I told my daughters that I thought it would be hard to bring it to the big screen. However, Disney and Marvel did a wonderful job and Chadwick Bozeman is the ultimate Black Panther. Wakanda Forever!!

Kevin Alford The only black Panther comics i had come across were linked with the DD ones. There was a time in 2011 when Murdock left NY and T'Challa took over as protector of Hell's Kitchen and the mantle of Man Without Fear. No vibranium, no wealth and no powers. Black Panther went street-level with appearance from Luke Cage as well.

You left out this random fact. The term "Black Panther." A Panther is a term for any great cat that has a black fur. Tigers with all black fur are panthers. Jaguars with all black fur are panters, etc. So, Black Panther is "Black Black Great Cat." The "Pink Panther" thing was a comic oxymoron. So, the comic book world and the political world don't get the redundancy of the color adjective "black" when describing "panthers." Funny, and a bit depressing. I noticed this 21 years ago as a teenager. Why is this not something people joke about now?

It's not a redundancy; the term "panther" isn't exclusive to just black big cats; it comes from the Latin word _Panthera,_ which is the scientific genus name for lions, tigers, leopards, and jaguars ( _Panthera leo, Panthera tigris, Panthera pardus,_ and _Panthera onca,_ respectively), though it's also used as a common name for other large cats that aren't in the _Panthera_ genus, like Florida panthers ( _Puma concolor cougar_ ) which are just a subspecies of mountain lion/cougar/puma that live in Florida. I think that the white hair worn by Angela Bassett who plays Queen Mother Ramonda, was a homage to Storm. The queen mother was after all, married to a black panther, King T'Chaka. And I think Angela Bassett would have been perfect as Storm in the X-Men movies
