Glad you listened. Most people don't take my advice seriously when I try to share my knowledge in nutrition. These same people constantly seem to get sick. I wonder if I'm better off adding to ask their doctor to check their D levels. One of them straight out said they don't believe in supplements. Oddest thing I ever heard. Like they don't exist. Or no are necessary. I don't see him living particularly long with that attitude and the way he eats. Maybe, when he gets sick enough a doctor may do it for him. At work my client which is a disabled shut in basically. Bec he's triggered when he's out or can easily be. Had to almost die before his doctor gave him vitamin D. For some reason he's been going on and off it since. I personally generally recommend 10k IU daily. As it's a safe dose. And of course K2 mk7 and magnesium. My one coworker literally had to quit working with kids because she was literally sick the whole time. plus, she seems to get every sickness the client gets. I may get sick but it's so mild I have to question if I'm actually sick. Taking high dose Vitamin D3 is that helpful. It never goes past mildl anymore. Since bumping up from around 1600iu to 10k IU daily.

@@md.rakibul2609 I’m not a health care professional, but I’ve seen people warm up vitamin E and vitamin D gelcaps by briskly rubbing gelcaps in their hands together, and then applying the viscus stuff to the skin directly. I believe these people continued to ingest vitamin D capsules orally as well. The vitamin-infused balm on peeling or angry skin (peeling lips anyone ?) was an “add-on,” or an extra. Applying topically was never the “go-to” idea. I’m going to try this soon. My lips are peeling, I’m bow-legged, and a bone doctor told me I had serious osteoporosis, hither-to unseen by him in a 38 year-old man. Because of my very nerve-shaking living arangements, I’ve given up on cooking, but I know I can force an avacado milkshake in the morning, and take that with a bunch of vitamins. An osteopath instructed me to take a lot of vitamin D. I’ll have to look up the numbers. It’s sent out in IUs (international units) and not milligrams [he never let me forget that].

We're from Alaska and my wife was diagnosed with MS about eight years back. Her levels were crazy low at the time and it took several years to get her in the normal(ish) range. Just recently, I went to the doctor and learned my levels are around 10 and have since started once a week 50,000iu pull in addition to 6-9,000iu gummies each each day. It has been three weeks and have not noticed much of a difference. The doctor said it would take at least 6-12 months. Over the last few years, more specifically the last two, I have been super depresed, fatigued, mood swings, poor sleep, sick, bowel issues, dull skin, pain in my head, bone pain, etc. Makes it really difficult to work 12 hour days to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. @hughdavis3135 Жыл бұрын
UVB only penetrates to ground level when the sun is above an altitude of 45 degrees. Above 45 deg, the higher the sun is in the sky, the more UVB gets through, hence the rule about it being strongest at noon. However in higher Latitudes, during winter the sun never gets above 45deg, for instance in London the sun only gets above 45 deg between early April and early Sep - approx 5 months of the year, for Edinburgh it's only approx 4 months. Add to that many people don't get out in the sun at lunchtime, and it's easy to see why the UK has a Vit D crisis, and the need for supplementation, or a diet of D rich foods.

This is an excellent and informative video. However, they should encourage anyone living in the Northern Hemisphere to supplement with vitamin D regardless of what they are eating. Here, in Ireland, it's recommended to supplement from Autumn to about April, then take a break over the Summer. Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin meaning it is stored in the fat in our bodies, so it can build up. Taking a break each Summer ensures that we do not store too much.

Bleeding gums is also a symptom of vitamin C deficiency, and common in children who eat too much sugar. Sugar is similar to C and prioritized by the body when present. This leads many to experience symptoms of scurvy. So Bleeding gums may not be a good symptom to go by to identify a D deficiency. You have to rule out over factors. Vitamin C is used to build cell walls. Deficiencies make you bleed more, bruise easily, and have noise bleeds.

Also if you had bleeding gums as a specific problem, you could type 'causes of bleeding gums' and vitamin d, vitamin c would likely show up as potential causes along with other nutrient deficiencies and excesses. It just speaks to the complexity of nutrition.

I read that in 30 minutes in the sun, in a swimsuit, at noon, flip at 15 minutes, the body can produce 10,000 to 20,000 IU of vitamin D. The need for vitamin D is why people whose ancestors both farmed their food and lived far from the equator are so very pale. Darker skin (more melanin) slows down the production of vitamin D. The Inuit eat their vitamin D and have a good tan, even though they live very far north. Northern Europeans eat mostly plant based foods (no vitamin D) and live far north, and therefore, have paler skin color.

8:40 is an error, you say low Vit D causes the pupils NOT TO constrict properly when you enter a dark room, that is wrong as you do not want them to constrict when you enter a dark room, the pupils actually dilate when you enter a dark room. When the pupils dilate it lets more light in, which is what you need when you are in low light conditions. I hear ya! I can't eat gluten either. I'm o. A very low fixed income so I can't do high grocery prices. I found that Aldi grocery store has tons of chickpea boxes of dried noodles that cook up about the same volume as 2 pounds of spaghetti. $2.50 a box. No gluten. I make spaghetti and macaroni and cheese with them. They taste pretty close to wheat. Also quinoa is gluten free. Not inflammatory. Cooks really quickly. I use it kind of like I would rice. It absorbs the flavor of spices and sauces easily. It's kind of pricey, but I also get it really cheap at Aldi, and at Sprouts. Trader Joe's has it cheaper than regular grocery stores. I eat crackers made from almond flour . The garlic ones are pretty good. Herb and cheese ones pretty good. I eat with dips and with cheese, and sometimes with cooked veg. Aldi has them for about $2.50 a box. Sprouts carries exact same brand for about $3.00 These things aren't the same as what we've eaten all our lives, but they're affordable and not as expensive as the "gluten free" specialty stuff. Oh, there's really cheap dried noodles made out of lentils. Not bad. Sprouts, Aldi. Oh! The Grocery Outlet carries all these things most of the time. Sometimes cheaper, sometimes same price as Sprouts and Aldi. Good luck to you :)

We don’t take a vit D, K or C as supplements, but do take Cod liver oil. Our vits come from food (we grow a lot of) and in our diets, we regularly eat chestnut mushroom (skins on), eggs ( at least 4+ a week each), liver once a week, full fat milk every day, tuna once to twice a week, cheese 3-4 x a week, leafy dark green vegs 5 x a wk or more, plus lots of other fresh fruit & veg, which contain all you need for a healthy diet. We live in the Northern hemisphere, where we get little sunlight with 7 1/2 daylight hours in the depth of winter, and on average not much actual sunshine from Nov-Feb, plus it’s too cold to unwrap outside. Neither of us have any colds, flu, or other ailments relating to diet deficiencies as far a we are aware and we consider ourselves healthy, for now anyways😂.

I am surprised why the doctors don’t tell you to check Vitamin D even if you tell them all these symptoms? I have one of the best insurance and I went at least 10 times to doctors at Stanford hospital and all they tell me was they don’t see any issue in me until I was talking to a friend of mine and he specifically told me to check vitamin D. I checked and my number was severely low. Then the doctor prescribed me 50,000UI taken weekly for eight weeks. When I took the first pill, the next day all my symptoms were gone. I am grateful for the info I got from the friend. If it wasn’t for him, I would have been in the never ending diagnosis of these expensive doctors. The lesson I learned is if you have issues research about it ask about it and ask your doctor for specific checks. If you are over forty check your vitamin D level. Finally I would also want to say this. The sun radiation is 95% UVA and only 5% UVB. The UVB is responsible for the vitamin D generation. If you leave above like latitude of 34 N, due to the SAN angle you don’t generate vitamin D for the months October to March. So you have to eat food or supplement to get the vitamin D you need.
