Why so serious? Don’t worry, we’ve got something to make you smile. When it comes to villains, there is no one more infamous than the villain that goes toe to toe with the caped crusader. Who are we talking about? Well, Batman’s number one arch nemesis, the clown prince himself, the Joker. But what makes the Joker such a worthy adversary? We know Batman has no super powers per se but he does have agility, skills, brains, and of course a lot of money. This is all well and good as he can fight crime just as good as those other heroes with supernatural abilities. So who better to match him than a guy who is also lacking some superpowers, or is he?
The Joker is able to withstand fighting with the dark knight because he has a high pain tolerance. But one other superpower is his fearlessness. Although that’s technically not a superpower in the traditional sense, we think that’s pretty awesome.
We also know the Joker is smart, he’s got genius level intellect, specifically chemistry. And what makes a better evil genius chemist? How about an immunity to poison? Oh yes, that definitely leads to one scary villain.
But how does the Joker keep fighting Batman? He gets put into Arkham enough, so how does he always get away? in my opinion hes actually not immune to it but has a very very high tolerance, probably an inhumane amount. in many games (arkham origins, arkham city, injustice, etc) you can see joker being thrown against walls, punched, kicked, body slammed, and hell he's even crashed through a roof from jumping at over 50 stories tall, but he's still hurt by it even though it may not cause much pain. in injustice, superman threw him across the room and into a wall, resulting in him crashing onto a table. you could see him grunt and groan, then struggling to get up followed by him grabbing his lower back. those actions are key that he was hurt, even though it wasn't much (because he's got the insane pain tolerance from the chemicals not frying his nerves to non-reactive but changing his mind from sane to insane, changing how he intakes pain/changing when his brain gets signals that he's being hurt) just my opinion though

That ending to "The Killing Joke" was so sad but sweet though! The Joker was just a normal guy trying to succeed in comedy, resorting to crime when his jokes failed to make him money for his family and then finally his comedic value is acknowledged by his rival, and he does what no one else could in making the Batman laugh. The Joker is not possess fearlessness. There have been several instances where Joker has been terrified. The most obvious case was in the Justice League series when he founded the Royal Flush gang and broadcast a bomb threat from Los Vegas. Throughout the two part episode, he kept Ace by his side because he (1) used her as a draw for the crowd. He didn't address her backstory at the same time as the other members so that drew curiousness. 2) So he could give her ques to use her abilities 3) if she turned her ability on Joker, he had the device on hand to control her. it was only after Batman knocked the device out of the Jokers coat that we see the Joker become terrified. Ace genuinely scared him.

And what the Narrator also fails to mention is that although Batman does legitimately have fears, it's not in the sense you may think. It's always been expressed in several renditions of Batman that his biggest Fear of all is that he'll lose the people closest to him, such as his friends, family and closest allies, and thus feel responsible for putting them in harm's way to begin with. Another fear is that he'll eventually become as bad as The criminals he helps lock up, and in turn become a man without a code of conduct or Morality.

Actually, the pain thing could also have another reason. Certain people, if they've gone through something so traumatizing, will stop feeling pain. Like. for instance, my step-father who was a Marine and suffered a brain injury due to an explosion in Iraq, can't feel things in certain parts of his body, like his back. Also, suffering from frostbite made him more immune to that feeling, ultimately increasing the tolerance to that pain.

Do like the idea of the Joker being supersane(Aka aware of his being as a comicbook character) and just isn't always as open about it. Personally i believe the joker suffers from super sanity. He realizes he is a Villan in a comic book, and if he doesn't make it good, the book may be canceled. However if he is very good, they will keep him around for the next time.

I believe that the last one is untrue Joker is afraid to die. I think so because if how he reacts when he is put in a situation where you might die. I think he just knows how to make people think he's not afraid to die. If you look at his eyes when hes about to "die" you can see the definition of panic, and when he actually "dies". You should do a video on it.

Joker isn't crazy. There are videos that explain how he is the most sane in the D.C. Universe, as he is supposedly FULLY aware he is in a comic book, with evidence such as breaking the fourth wall, having no morals, and not having any recorded cases of insanity or psychopathy. He's grabbed his speech bubbles and talked to the reader, so it seems he's the smartest and most aware of what his universe really is.

I am glad that CBR mentioned his case of "super sanity." When he went into ra's al ghul's pit he was brought down to a sane character, while sane people were brought down to an insane level.
