Sikh temples have food served every single day and anyone can come and eat. Opened to everyone. This is beautiful. Anytime someone is in need they are welcome to eat in the Sikh Temple. Door is always opened to the hungry...delicious and nutritious Indian foods... This is truly amazing.

I’m Scottish and I come from mixed Christian faiths( catholic and Protestant) I am an agnostic however in the past I have felt mostly drawn to eastern religions. Particularly Buddhism and Hindu. I'm Christian and years ago an elderly Sikh woman invited me to her home to talk about our beliefs. It is one of the most beautiful religious discussions I have ever had in my life. There was no arguing, accusations, or judgements. We simply talked about our beliefs and what they meant to us. By the end of the discussion we both had formed a friendship based on love and respect. We visited many times afterwards until I had to move. I am so grateful I met her and that she shared what she loved most with someone who had never even heard of Sikhism before.

I was entreaged when a man come to my door to help with my internet And I asked if he was Muslim or sikh and he said Sikh and I continued to share my religious beliefs and my hobby’s and he stood there and just listen to me , I stated the fact I was 23 years old and then he had said he was 22 and I asked him how do you hold your peace , why do you look so happy ,and he just simply told me cause of god . Your question: What religion would we choose to be? I spent years researching religions to find the one that I thought had all the right elements, served humanity, believed in Oneness of people, connectedness to God, gender equality, no judgment or hatred of other people or religions, and as an American, I made my way through all the Christian choices and moved on to Islam and Judaism and on from there to religions I had less or no exposure to, when I got to Sikhism, I felt home. I fell so deeply into it that I stayed up half the night researching and tying poorly tied turbans and sought out conversion and Sikh baptism immediately. So, not only is Sikhism the religion I would choose to be, it is the one I chose.

Guru Nanak Dev ji was born and raised by Hindu family. whenever there is natural Hazard and any tragedy in nation. Gurudwaras are first to step ahead and help people irrespective of religion. Over 100,000 people visit the holy Darbar Sahib daily for worship, and also partake jointly in the free community kitchen and meal (Langar) regardless of any distinctions or religion, a tradition that is a hallmark of all Sikh Gurdwara. Sameen Mirza Singh means Lion Kaur means Queen These were given by Guru Gobind Singh when he made the Khalsa panth. Indians have surnames or family names according to their classes. And Sikhs have no classes. To get rid of that class system Guru Ji give these two last names to make all the Sikhs equal.

Pray with Sikhi in the Gurdwara, no statues, stars, suns, planets - just pray to God. You don't Join Sikhi usually, its a blood line thing, but all are welcome to pray with them, you won't be overly invested but you will learn many global/universal truisms that you may be able to apply to your own worship of the Most High. I'm a moving target, and currently I consider myself a Nazarite and a student of Sikhi. I've taken a full tour of Christianity and checked out many flavors... what did I take from it? When Jesus and/or God Talk, take a good listen. When a prophet talks, take a listen but remember, they aren't perfect how we think of perfect, they may or may not be perfect in God's Eyes... But most were SERIOUSLY trying, and some came from a checkered past, so don't write them off, pay attention to all of the writings in ALL inspired scriptures. Summary? One Family Under God, Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All - GLOBALLY!!! Just ask God to be a Citizen of his Kingdom, then start representing your new God and/or King Yeshua/Jesus - They are ONE God Head, we all Are One with GOD. Now we all need to get on the Same Page by showing love to one another more, and lose the hate while we are at it. It's not easy with so many mean people around, but ... Good Guys Win Last because all the WICKED WILL BE REMOVED SOON... Kinda Leaves the Good Guys and Gals Standing! Besides, when we all realize this - the world gets better immediately! :) Why? Anshul Sharma you are 1000 000 % right. Sikhism is a very good religion and the sacrifices that were made by sikhs through out history have made me join sikhism. I was originally a christian and now I am a sikh. It is the only religion which actually serves free food 24 hours and 7 days a week in its temple for anyone regardless of their skin color or gender or religion or caste. Churches do not do this, neither do mosques, neither do hindu temples, or any other religious places of worship. Even if other religious places of worship do this, they only do it occasionally and that to only for the people of their religion but sikhism offers it 24 hours seven days a week 12 months a year and throughout all the seasons for everyone. It is these qualities of sikhism which made me convert to it.

Talvinder Singh Jattism does not have anything to do with sikhism my brother. Jattism is a caste which is apart of the PUNJABI culture not apart of the sikh religion. The proof for this is the very fact that the sikh scriptures and Gurus speak against the cast system. My surname originally was Nandrajog but my great grandfather changed it to Shah because he used to lend money and in that region the one who lends money was called Shah .
