Rudy is amazing. Ironically there was a big viral rumor going around that he passed away just a few days ago. He's alive at 91 but living in a full time assisted living home for Alzheimers sadly :/ He joined the first season at 72 and even came back for all stars .. "Rudy is a retired Navy SEAL. The outlet reports that he joined the service in 1945 and volunteered for “secret hazardous duty.” In 1962, he was one of the first members of the original SEAL Team Two and later served in the Vietnam war where he reportedly earned a Bronze Star Medal for heroic action." @@harperghahn Sorry I know this is super late but I just wanted to point out that we have seen better idol plays than the one done by Wentworth in Cambodia. I was thoroughly impressed by Russel's own idol play in which he implemented psychological warfare to get Tyson to flip (voting himself out) and then further at tribal he made a grandstand of expressing his loyalty for his allies knowing full well that he had caught the attention of Coach and Jerri who were in the middle of the tribe. This was a move that secured his victory over Rob, it was amazingly preplanned and put on the facade that Russel was loyal and trustworthy. An impression that would last really far into the game and practically secure Jerri's loyalty for many major moves through the merge, including blindsides. I'm sure there are other great idol plays but that is the one I most admire.

I am a new fan of Survivor. I have binged the first 34 seasons over the last couple/three months. It has made this Covid/quarantine situation so much more bearable! Russell is the most deserving player of winning who hasn't ever won...yet. Love him or hate him, he was genius. So happy to have stumbled upon his youtube videos.
