my theory has always been this: the matrix has been rebooted 7 times... so the programs say but instead of that, the machines just built one matrix on top of another 7 times so you have a matrix in a matrix in a matrix. like a russian doll... cage ... thing if you escape the lowest level, you are still stuck in 6 other matrixes. and since humans do still have a lifespan, and it took neo 30 years to escape just one, what are the odds you're actually gona make it through all 7. because neo still thinks the 6th matrix (the one with zion) is the real one this also explains why neo can just stop a squid thing with his mind. he's still in the matrix
@lEGOBOT25656 жыл бұрын
actually, Neo is able to tap into the Matrix wirelessly, but yeah, the "real" world is probably a Matrix for the malcontent humans and programs

No, Neo gets out of the "6th layer" at the end of the trilogy. He figured it out when Agent Smith blinded him, but it wasn't a whole 30 years. It's more likely there are multiple layers so that the 1% which rejects the first layer, gets to be the 99% of the second layer; of which 1% goes to the second layer, of which 1% of them get to the third layer... and that's why you'd have nested layers. It's not because the trap is perfect with three layers so lets make four more for no fucking reason.

OH SHIT! Remember when Neo goes to Zion and the bald skinny guy gives him a spoon "from one of the orphanage kids." Why would the orphan send him a spoon when he's already in the real world? Maybe he's telling him that, just like in the matrix, here too "There is no spoon" that if Neo focuses on the spoon in Zion, it too would bend because it is also a simulation
@RDeemedMSmith6 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Zion was a simulation for the ones who reject the matrix. Even Morpheus asks is this real.

@@RDeemedMSmith it feels like they were planning to go this with with the trilogy and at the last minute backed out and decided Neo is actually Super Jesus was a better story. Only they would know for sure but it seems like the sort of thing that test audiences would enjoy more so than a properly thought out philosophical point. I definitely think it would have been a better ending for Neo to somehow see through the simulation of Zion and end the movie as humanity begins its real awakening from the Matrix.

You know something that always bugged me about the matrix? Babies. Is every child "born" in the matrix simulation a program? This has always been very confusing to me. Does the matrix control when the people have a child based on when the machines would have a baby ready to be plugged in for them? If so, why would it look like it's "parents"? We've seen that a person looks the same in and out of the matrix. The whole thing makes even less sense if you think about that.

Maybe it's when they clone them
@urahara643604 жыл бұрын
Well it's established that the agents of the matrix can control the people in it. So they could just make random people fuck and just assign them a clone.
@Blackundetected2 жыл бұрын
I always assumed the babies were just placeholder programs put in temporarily, until a genetic clone of the two people who copulated was made and grow to sentience. That's why the moment you go from a "no thoughts, head empty" child and become an actual sentient human being feels so jarring and the memory of the previous years as a baby always feel hazing and disconnected. That's just the moment when the machines plug you in and replaced the temp. code that was operating your matrix baby stand-in.
@kennywilkinson913 Жыл бұрын
@@BlackundetectedAnd even if 2 people met in the matrix, being digital representation of their residual self or whatever morpheus says, the machines would just have to get the egg and sperm of said humans they've already got plugged in, logged and tracked and then you have your baby-a-like to its parents 😅

That Simpson's theory was a bit far fetched
@NoESanity9 жыл бұрын
Matt Pieman a little bit, but if you think about the Simpsons as a shorthand for all of the sitcoms. every person who stayed would either be thrown into a small group with like minded people or possibly even put into a fabrication where they are the sole human in a world of AI's and they would live out life times having fun. look at family guy, the show has had thousands of characters, but for the most part there are only 12 that matter, and all 12 of them are like minded and compatible, even brian and quag who hate each other have the same ideologies, one is just preaching about it while the other is living it. you could even expand the idea to other TV shows. Doctor Who is a single person's world, but it has transient minds jump in from time to time as kind of a purgatory for other worlds. that is why companions are about 5:1 when compared to doctors. That and the whole reason TV shows get cancelled at all, is the main mind either dies or unplugs. That is why you have spin offs, and even why the dude who plays castle was also a space pilot once. he got bored of being a space robinhood and decided to become a batman/stephen king
@javiarfitzgibbons62239 жыл бұрын

It also doesn't make a lick of sense in terms of the way the human brain excepted the Matrix. According to Agent Smith, entire crops were lost on previous iterations of the Matrix because human brains refused to accept a Utopian version. I imagine a Simpson's version would cause aneurysms.

@romperstompist9 жыл бұрын
Wait, Neo is a program? Can someone explain this to me if this is the case? If it is, I must have missed some very important parts of the matrix trilogy.
@theoriginalsache9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this was revealed during the whole "The Architect Explains Everything" scene in... I think it was Reloaded. Basically, The Architect tells Neo that he isn't real so much as the latest The One program in a long list of The Ones and that Zion is just another layer of The Matrix and that he's a cog in this never-ending cycle featuring the destruction and rebuilding of Zion. Apparently, some humans need to fight for their survival and don't accept Matrix-y paradise, so the machines built this post-apocalyptic level for the humans that can't accept their Matrix Reality. The One's true purpose is to provide a myth for the people of Zion to believe in and then when The One does show up, he gets to choose the new founders of the next Zion after the machines destroy the current one. Except Neo is the first The One to completely reject this - supposedly because he is the first The One to ever fall in love. Rejecting his duty to choose the founders of the new Zion basically dooms humanity because Zion is scheduled to go to pot and w/o The One to choose the founders of the next Zion, humans would, I dunno, start failing as power sources due to ennui or something. (None of this makes any logical sense.) So, instead, Neo makes a deal with the machines, "Yo, I will take care of your Agent Smith problem, if you just not destroy Zion this time. Existential human battery ennui problem solved."
@theoriginalsache9 жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, I'm being really facetious during that last bit. On account of the Matrix sequels being even more stupid when you actually take the time to think about it.
@romperstompist9 жыл бұрын
theoriginalsache So Neo wants the computer simulation Zion to continue, despite Zion basically just being another part of the Matrix, or are there actually liberated humans somewhere? A real Zion type of place? Sorry, I am confused about this. I never heard this side of the story. Or at least was too young to comprehend when this explanation was given in the movie.
@theoriginalsache9 жыл бұрын
Yeah, that's never fully explained. The choice he's given is that he can basically save Trinity or do his job, regardless, Zion is doomed, and Neo basically decides, "Screw it, I'm going to save everybody!" and then he does. Keep in mind that if you die in the Matrix, you die in "Real Life" so saving Zion, even if it's a construct is still saving the lives of the inhabitants of Zion. So, either he's just trying to save people, or Neo thinks that The Architect is lying to him. Which is also possible. There was definitely some denial going on when this was all being explained to him. And maybe The Architect was! The Wachowski's never 100% commit to it either way. On one hand, even the machines at the end talk about Zion like it's a Real Place, but on the other hand, even though Neo was in the "Real World" and completely blind, he could still see in code and manipulate the machines, which he shouldn't have been able to do if he was an unplugged human. I think it's one of those things that they leave hanging so you can have nerdy conversations on the internet about it.
@romperstompist9 жыл бұрын
theoriginalsache Well ok then. Thanks for the explanation. Until seeing this video I thought that Zion was real and Neo a human, but damn. Lots has come to light. Perhaps I should rewatch the trilogy. I was rather young when I did.

Let's say nested , 'Inception universes' are possible, this means that simulated universes far outnumber our one 'real universe'. Let's not stop there, assume that there are aliens who can also simulate universes, and that there are also other universes in the multiverse. This means that the number of simulated, nested universes are probably infinitely many more than real universes. We are far more likely to live in one of the infinitely many simulated universes than a real universe.

GuyWithAnAmazingHat Oh, I thought you were talking about Dan's argument about the Matrix universe, and since this video was discussing that, I read your post contextually. If we're theorizing about the Matrix universe, then these further ideas about "infinite simulations" are unnecessary to the argument Dan presented. I'm not going to comment on the real life "simulation argument", though. It sounds like bullshit to me, but I'm no expert and I don't want to bother to look into it. Your argument, as you present it, reads as "let's assume these things; thus, it is true." Reminds me of the Star Trek: TNG episode where an A.I. version of sherlock's greatest enemy Moriarty gained sentience and demanded to be released into the real world (something he thought was possible via teleportation and matter creation combining or something) but Picard simply pretends to let him exit by having him enter into a fake version of the real world, which is revealed to be what looks like a external hard drive that Picard says has enough data on it for them to be happily live for 100's of years without ever knowing it's fake.

It's 2022 and I still miss After Hours
@charmingd779 жыл бұрын
This conversation reminds me of an episode of StarTrek: Next generation "Ship in a Bottle". The holodeck program of Prof. Moriarty takes over the Enterprise, forcing them to come up with a solution to make holograms "real". Eventually the Enterprise tricks Moriarty into thinking they found a solution and beam him into the "real world". Moriarty, is in fact, beamed into a another program to simulate the real world. Picard ends the holodeck program and talks with the crew suggesting maybe their reality is might be a device on someone's table.

Why are they moaning over the Animatrix? The Animatrix is the only good Matrix sequel.

I have a theory that the matrix is a movie about a simulation where the characters don't know they're being played by actors.

😂😅😆🤣😝OKAY, THAT'S TUMOR TALK. How I LOVE this foursome and miss watching new posts. But I will rewatch as programmed by The Matrix, to entertain, distract and make me think but about geeky, superficial stuff. Thanks for posting! 😍😘

"Tumor Talk" so gonna be the name of my podcast. also the original idea for the matrix was it to be used as a neural network but they were forced to change it to the battery thing because they didn't think people would understand the neural network concept but everyone knows what batteries are. Stupid change and has been admitted as such

Stupid question, perhaps, but what exactly do the credits at the start mean? As in, who are the people that are credited as the brains of the cast?
@doctorbellacullen9 жыл бұрын
The people credited as the brains are the people who do the animation for each of the characters thought bubbles.

Umm the button said "HEL" as in the Norse underworld, so technically they're combining two mythologies
@Bluecho49 жыл бұрын
AliG6252010 But "Hell" as a word was derived from the Norse Hel, because language. Hell, itself, was not even the same concept that we know until it was translated to English, because the Bible in prior editions had three different ideas/places that were all lumped together by the English version under the banner "Hell". These being Sheol (or the Greek Hades), the grave; Gehenna, the burning lake of fire that acts as the final resting place of the unsaved after Judgment Day; and Tartarus, where the fallen angels are incarcerated.

About the 3 worlds proposition, the actor that brings that up also questions why the authors would name a city 01, well the greatest number you can represent with two digits in binary is 3. Add that to the pile of nonesense
@lEGOBOT25656 жыл бұрын
all computer count from 00, meaning that 01 is the second iteration of the machine city, or the name was chosen because 01 is the machine zion

Morpheus is also basically the 'big guy hot shot' of Zion....and he's the god of Sleep Mode. Cipher can be read as 'Zero' compared to Neo's 'One'...according to one version, Cipher was supposed to have the same powers as Neo...or at least be the human version of Smith.

I never got into the matrix movies, out of the three which one was the best?
@sk711g69 жыл бұрын

***** Certainly, the first is a masterpiece and also the height of the career of the Wachowski brothers.

It seem like the first movies in a trilogy are always the best. Well except for the Christopher Nolan Batman series, the dark knight was better than batman begins.
@narsil19849 жыл бұрын
***** Watch the first one, 2nd and 3rd really optional, even if you like the concept - they're very different (also 2 has like 1-2 good action scenes, rest shit... 3 is shit all the way). Also, not true about the trilogy thing. Examples : Star Wars (peeking at 2), LotR (some would say 3 is best), The Godfather (2!), Terminator (2!), Alien franchise (original trilogy, where 1 & 2 are different but equally awesome in their genres), Spiderman (2!)... Lots and lots of trilogies where the 1st isnt the best, the 2nd often is though.

I Always Thought the Matrix Trilogy was About Two Rival Artificially Intelligent Virtual Reality Simulators Fighting a War in Cyberspace (i.e.: "The Matrix"), Where Neo & the Humans are Actually Avatars of One AI Computer Simulator and the Agent Smiths are Avatars of the Other AI Computer Simulator that Both Meet & Battle in the Matrix, and Humanity has been Extinct for Centuries but The Computer Avatars are Still on Autopilot Fighting the Same War, Over & Over & Over Again, Forever!!! 🤔
