"There are many good artists... Then there's BTS" Reminded me of Jimin, while in a car or bus, going to perform somewhere or rehearse. He was thinking out loud, about all BTS had that they were grateful for. He was talking softly, saying something like, ""We work hard, but other idols work just as hard. Why do we get so much (fame, love, success)? Do we deserve so much?" They let such thoughts motivate them to continue working hard, and to be grateful for ARMY. 💜 (If anyone has the exact quote, feel free to share it, please.💜)

I wish I had known them back in 2013. I am so proud to be an Army and I want to thank everyone who translated what BTS said into English. I remember reading that Namjoon used to change Tweets into something positive when needed as he read them to his brothers. Our leader carries so much on his shoulders. Borahae Army and BTS!

Wish I had known about them from 2013 also. I'm from the Caribbean and January 2023 was the first time when my youtube was flooded with BTS that I ever heard of K-Pop and what can I say I have not stopped learning about and following BTS for a moment since then💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.....I'm a very adult fan too😊❤

Nowadays, a lot of new army's don't know all this, they attack hybe, bighit and bangpd for any small thing. Bangpd suffered with these boys, cried with them and had the weight of the responsibility for them on his shoulders as he was the one that got them from their families. 2nd, they even said in the book that music was everything to them and their friends was just each other, so it pains me also that some army's who doesn't know what these 7 boys passed through take out time to hate one or two members.

Bang PD told them to write from their own experiences and feelings, and that has been characterized by journalists as a marketing move that paid off, with no other comment made. I'm glad you said Bang PD advised them to put their feelings into their lyrics because they eventually will forget. Their songwriting is so valuable to them, benefitting their friendships, their process of maturing personally, and their development as artists. As public figures bombarded with popularity and other drama, their recorded memories help them to stay grounded and positive. I appreciated your comments about Festa, too. I have always appreciated the letters they were assigned to write to each other and the topics they were given for discussion among themselves. They each received benefits on a personal level. Training and living as an idol was hard, but these opportunities to reflect and connect were very precious.

Wow! Now that line in “Take Two” about letters they didn’t send makes all the sense in the world!! I totally didn’t understand what it meant! So thank you for mentioning that small detail. I’m a relatively new/Army so there are lots of “inside” things I don’t always get!💜

I LOVED Bangtan Subs! They were my life-line to BTS content. I liked how they would sometimes put in little explanations about what they were translating to help me better understand the context of what was going on. I really appreciate all the time and effort they put in, all for helping us I-ARMIES love BTS.

Thank you for mentioning KCON 2014! As an early 2014 ARMY, I was also surprised there wasn't a mention of this in the book given how instrumental the turn out of ARMY was at KCON 2014 towards coloring the perception bighit had of BTS's marketability in the west/America. I was there at KCON 2014 and I saw how huge a fraction of people were there specifically for BTS even despite big names like GD and SNSD being there. And yes, that is always a key point left out in larger narratives of BTS's success. They WERE more popular in the west/in America than they were in Korea. It was something widely discussed and acknowledged by all early ARMY. Of course, early K-Army were essential to I-Army and BTS connecting and we highly valued and appreciated their hard work but it was no secret that by the time INU hit I-Army (even beyond America) was BIGGER in number than K-Army. I think especially in America, largely due to Black Women ARMY who recognized BTS writing talent and hiphop talent and ingenuity immediately. INU is what finally gained them recognition in their own country and that recognition along with a huge boom in domestic fans meant they now had the support and security of their home country in order to continue making new albums. I will never stop talking about this and arguing with people who try to say BTS weren't popular internationally until like 2017(?) because it's simply not true.

Thank you for giving us the scoop. I am still so confused why I am just now, this month, discovering these amazing men. I have been obsessed with learning everything I can about them. I live in the states and honestly wasn’t exposed to them all these years and just happened to stumble upon something about Jimin less than a month ago, and that sent me down a never ending rabbit hole to discover who BTS really is. It took me a week to learn who each member was and as I explored, I fell in love with them one by one, not because they are visually beautiful but because of their characters and the messages they are sending to the world. Right now I feel sad when I think about what I have missed! 😢But no matter what happens in the future I know that their music, and their story is eternal and that comforts me. I subscribed to your channel and looking forward to the next video. Borahae 💜

So glad I stumbled across this, I'm blown away by the complex, beautiful phenomenon called BTS. I'm Dutch, grew up with the Beatles, the Stones, then Bowie, Roxy Music, Massive Attack, Portishead. Also, electronic dance music and whatever eclectic music and neo classical music (Philip Glass). Never would I have thought I would arrive in the BTS zone... Found them at the perfect time when I experienced significant losses. I needed music that would not trigger pain. Korean! I thought it was innocent, loved that they were beautiful, and wore make-up and shiny things. Little did I know, as i learned more, I dove in deep and came to respect them deeply. Now, watching their solo work has been super fascinating as well. However, I hope they will return as BTS once their military commitments are done. Anyway, thank you for this video. I'm following and look forward to learning more.

I also had come across horrible situation when I first discovered BTS in 2016. A lot of people from different KPop fandoms dragging BTS down, from any possible thing to make drama to look BTS ugly. The haters love to make some copying/plagiarism accusation which are so shallow in substance such as some beats in music, outfits, hair color, photos, etc. They also like to compare BTS with various group, from vocal, visual, dance, etc. It is so obvious that they do not even know what art is yet they act as if they were experts and calling army as low taste fandom. Actually those haters made me more curious about BTS.

As a black women I couldn’t understand why they got so much hate. I understood the white bright factor. But I thought V Rapmon and JHope good looking and unique. JHope even then could wear anything and make it crucial. He is a FUBU artist. For us by US but also relatable. You wear your culture it doesn’t wear you! I love your chats it so erudite!

I have said many times.. I am a newish ARMY .. I am here to hear all about them. I've never been one to follow or stan a person or group but when I stumbled upon BTS I could not stop reading, watching, and learning all I could about them.. even when I could not understand what they were saying. I found myself crying at the utter mistreatment of them by so many. How could you hate such wonderful souls? They are just being true to themselves and spreading love. As an outsider, in the beginning, looking in I was really so confused because all that I could find out was the good they were uplifting in the world. I soon became an ARMY, although I'm not really sure how to connect with others ARMYs .. I would love to. All that being said.. I love your channel! You are always so open, honest, & respectful.. not only of BTS but of others as well.. a true ARMY.

Always looking forward to your updates! I've been a fan of BTS since only 2020. I was never a fan of Kpop until BTS came along. I was very impressed because they were not the Kpop that I remembered and disregarded when I was young due to disinterest. After binging on BTS (I was on a thrill ride - an oldie like me? Me? Into a boyband!? Please!? I was never even into any boyband growing up here in the states!!), I looked into other groups thinking that maybe Kpop got better, but I was wrong. In my view, BTS was just way better in every way - to their musical souls to their physicalities in comparison to all other groups I had seen. Kpop is a cut-throat business - there are just way too many groups and being a fan takes a lot of work and money - it's an investment in every sense of the word and much much more. I think others saw how good BTS was and that meant their own idols they were supporting were under a threat so they went on the attack.

aww i really love these you are really good at explaining it. i only knew what i saw in xceleste video. and still til this day other fandom claims their artist write their own music but there is a difference as to be given the change to write some lyrics about a topic that the label chose compared to BTS who came up with their own concepts. BTS and bighit is a good example of how artist and label are working togehter on something rather than the label who is controlling their artist.

I remember that it took me forever to get Born Singer because I am not a Korean International Army. So in 2013 and 2014 I used to scrub the kpop socials to find songs and then songs that had subs. I really appreciate the Korean Int. Army for allowing me to get things that I thought I would not get. It was so hard for me to see groups hate on BTS and I am sure that I didn't see all of it since I could not speak Korean but I would support the BTS message. Those were the days. We just wanted to help Korean Armys. I remember that there were times we were worried about the mental health of Korean ARMYs because of the hate from others.Such a work of love. I like RunBTS better anyway. It was so fun durng the "I Need You" Era was fun but watching people get excited about the story during that time. I have the book but it is good to reminscewith those who were there.

you are welcome. thank you for watching my video. about BTS not talking about why they get hate, i think part of it is that it is written from the members' point of view. So, they can only say so much about what's happening on the "fandom side". i am sure, given that they continue to look into fan comments and posts, they know more than they are letting on BUT they can't say much given that it's "not their place". The boys are very polite and, of course, smart. Even if they know what's in ARMYs minds, they wouldn't want to "speak for ARMYs". Just speaking from experience, I know more than I said in the video but I can't say everything because most of the people i interact with online, I don't know personally. They may be impersonating ARMYs or something. So, I am also being careful to just pick and choose info that I am certain about.

That was very rude of V and someone should have stopped him. They were young, needed to learn and it was unfortunate. Korean fans seem pretty negative even some ARMY in Korea can get obnoxious. Also, the big 3 encouraged the hate, . western pop is the same mindless love song /story stuff. I have never in 71 yrs been a fan of much pop music. BTS is something else. Bts is just BTS and I am ARMY for what's left of my life. I love that they write their own music, plus use in house producers, mixers and sound and they all stay together because of the higher quality and freedom to explore and input they are allowed. It takes the entire team.
