@travpoet I'm afraid you've entirely misunderstood my meaning, and with that misunderstanding, decided I warranted a personal attack. My assertion is that people are not superficial simply because they prefer jeans over suits, or vice versa. Nor are people being fake or playing games simply because they wear both jeans and suits, depending on the occasion. However, it IS quite superficial to judge someone's entire character based on one facet of a story that someone else tells about them. We were told that a man dumped a lady because she wore sweatpants. It's both superficial and simplistic to think that that was the whole story when we know that people and relationships are so much more complex than that. Incidentally, I'm not a "couch." I'm a depth psychologist who also offers coaching. And since you know nothing about me, your personal attack is an example of projection, which means that your remarks are a reflection on you, not on me. You've just given us valuable insight into your own character.

I don't understand how people say you are toxic to women. You take feminism to the perfect level. You teach confidence and integrity. You let women know they have a choice and can accomplish whatever they put their mind to. If I wasn't a broke college kid I'd probably look into getting your online school.
@angelaalfarovillanueva73475 жыл бұрын
Feminism is not about how you wear your clothes or control your movements, is a different way of understanding the social relationships between men and women and their positions in the politic Sistem in any country. And her message isn't good because all her videos end up the same way: how to be elegant and to be a lady in order to married a rich guy. These kind of believes enforced the traditional gender roles: man who provides and "buy" a real woman, and woman who plays the role of a Barbie doll. Her message is really dangerous because gives an only one choice of being dignified and respected as a woman (i apologize for my english, wich is not my maternal language). She's not talking about self respect and acceptance, she's talking about how to be into the beaty system and how yo be liked and well accepted by man and rich people.
@fers48225 жыл бұрын
The way I see it, she does teach gender role, but she doesn’t encourage all women to be like that. But the ones who decide to take this lifestyle or want this type of life (classic wife) they know how to do it in the best way. I think feminism is about being free to choose, if you don’t want to get married for example, if you want to get married but not taking anything from your husband or if you want to keep the traditional gender role. It’s okay if you want to choose that too. Feminism is about never being forced to be anything we don’t want. By the way, I don’t look for a rich man and so on but I do appreciate her channel and the things she says.
@theBallisticMystic5 жыл бұрын
angela alfaro villanueva That's your interpretation of what she's saying but she's not actually saying any of that. What she's talking about is actually female empowerment, because the level of refinement she's talking about can't be achieved without having some intelligence, a very strong sense of identity and a high regard of your own self worth. Also, she never says that her advice is for all women. She always says it's about personal choice. Maybe you can't hear when she's saying that? She's selling a specific product and you don't have to buy it, but you don't have to burn down her market stall either.
@IDontCare395 жыл бұрын
@@angelaalfarovillanueva7347 there might be things I disagree but in general her channel is a breath of fresh air. @lianatitova15825 жыл бұрын
They would say she is toxic because she goes against modern "all accepting" and tolerant society. You know, I feel like since I started dressing more elegantly, although still with that touch of quirkyness that i feel like expresses my personality, I have attracted better quality men. I think if you look like a lady, your more likely to attract a man who wants to be a gentleman, and for me, thats the most important quality a man can have. I just love a man, that knows how to be a gentleman.

A few good books on speaking well I’ve found are textbooks: Speaking Clearly Gravitas And, of course, Grammar for Dummies For posture, I’ve found Ellie Herman’s Pilates books and the pearl button vest method work really well.stretching the hip flexors is also helpful. Still, it would be helpful to see some more examples and exercises.

AARRRGH!!!! Speaking of bad habits, a personal pet peeve of mine is when someone says "I'm sorry but..." it drives me crazy! My mother does this to me and I keep telling her either be 100% sorry or not at all. The 'but' after 'I'm sorry' reminds me of the fine print no-one bothers to read. It cancels the apology, in my opinion. I do love your videos! I sincerely miss the era of manners, having respect for oneself and others and generally more kindness being shown to each other. Thank you for letting me vent!

Sarah Mackeprang I told my kids, “When you add the ‘but’, it turns your apology into an excuse.” Don’t blame anyone else. Take responsibility. The other one that gets me is the “No offense, but . . .” You /know/ they’re about to say something offensive, but they expect a pass.
@llamasugar54785 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure about it being a tic. Maybe sometimes. I took it as something like, “I’m sorry I didn’t get that report to you by Thursday, but things have been hectic at the office.” Or, “I’m sorry I yelled at you, but you forgot to _______.” In both examples, the apologist is saying it wasn’t really their fault. An excuse.

Recently came across your channel and it really resonated with me. I never really liked elegance until a few years ago, I used to think elegant ladies are arrogant, overly sensitive about everything and just generally acting princess like so I always tried to be completely different. However this hasn’t completely satisfied me, I felt like something is not quite right, I wondered why so many people who I thought are like me, are so rude, inappropriate and which lives I don’t understand. I realised that I haven’t been spending time with the right people. And I’m beginning to see, thanks to you, that being elegant doesn’t mean that you’re a princess who can’t do anything for herself and take no responsibility for anything because she’s too precious, and needs a wealthy man so he can pay for everything that she doesn’t have to lift a finger so she has time to just look into the mirror for the rest of her life. This really opened my eyes, and I’m glad that I can be elegant and classy and still a responsible and confident adult rather than a spoiled princess.

Hello Anna. I am so glad that you mentioned grammar and word choice. A very elegant women recently shared that as soon as we open our mouth we “reveal” our authentic elegance - or not. I find it particularly troubling when anyone uses “ hey guys” when referring to women. It has become such a bad habit for so many people.

@@marinaalex0510 Hello Marina. Thank you for your comment. The woman I referred to was Dini Petty whose career has taken her from flying a "pink" helicopter and reporting Toronto traffic to being a news anchor, and then producing her own talk show. I met Dini recently at a women's networking event. She shared her story of moving out to a small rural town and inadvertently picking up poor grammar, words, and phrases. She would catch herself as she opened her mouth and using expressions and words that conflicted with her personal brand of elegance. Like, "Gonna pick up some milk" and "you's guys". I do follow Dominique Sachse as well. There must be something about an on-camera broadcasting career that encourages developing and maintaining a gracious and professional persona even though it's a tough career with a high level of judgement for women professionals. I watch the brilliant young women on CNN and admire their articulation and poise.

No matter what the cost of our clothing, we need to value ourselves and carry ourselves well. We don’t need designer clothing to learn this important habit. We need to consider ourself an asset even if wearing rags....IMO, it’s ok to not wear designer duds. I can’t afford them. All these recommendations can help any young woman starting out, especially in college. Anna does have more specific clothing videos for that. Keep Looking..
