You forgot about the Portrait of Leon Belmont from Lament of Innocence. That Easter egg appeared in Season 2, Episode 3: "Shadow Battles" when Trevor and Sypha was exploring the underground with a torch and Episode 7: "For Love" when Trevor, Sypha and Alucard were going up with a long circle ice tower Sypha created. In the game, Leon did say that he did use a sword, but he left it when he traveled to Walter's Castle to rescue Sarah. Much later, he gets the whip made of alchemy that is the Vampire Killer from Rinaldo.

Richter's headband. He has it in the video game, but not at first in the show. He puts it on in episode 6. Also, Alucard's appearance at the very end of Nocturne season 1. Symphony of the Night takes place four years after Richter's game, Rondo of Blood. Symphony of The Night is a continuation of Rondo of Blood. Tera is similar to Annette in the game, being family to Maria (mother vs older sister) and taking her looks from the game's Annette. Her being turned into a vampire is what happens to Annette in the game if you don't rescue her in time. Though Tera takes her name from another of the kidnapped women.

Annette and Maria are not sisters in Rondo of Blood. Maria refers to Annette as "sister" in the Japanese voice track but that's because Japan has a thing about using the terms "brother" and "sister" as terms of endearment. Dracula X (the SNES "port" of RoB) claims they are sisters in the manual but that is not the canon version of events

A few other references... season 2 features the Slogra/Gaibon boss fight from Sotn. Trevor finds the Morning Star in season 2, the original final whip upgrade. Greta appears to be a reference to/stand-in for Grant, she comes from a village called "Danesti".

The first time I watched Castlevania, I was disappointed that they didn't use any music from the games. Then, when Trevor, Sypha and Alucard storm the castle to an orchestral cover of "Bloody Tears" i realized they were waiting for just the right moment.

The first season was good, except for the lack of Grant, yes, lots of additions, but followed the premise quite well, luring us in, but from the second on, any references to the games are mere coincidence. Have you seen what they did with Hector? That maybe his name, his overall appearance, but that's not Hector. And that's just the beginning, they changed everything.

So in Nocturne, Anette blocks Drolta's attack (with claws) by using a gate door. Normally, anyone would use their nails (especially extending ones) to cut through. The fact that she doesn't references older games, where certain walls block enemy attacks, even though it doesn't make sense.

The name nocturne is taken from the Japanese name for Symphony of the night. Nocturne in the moonlight

The original Olrox from symphony of the night is based on Graff Orlock, or Count Orlock from the 1922 film Nosferatu. In Nocturne, if he was supposed to be Aztec, I wish his serpent form would have been a feathered serpent. He is voiced by Lakota actor Zahn McClarnon. Bloody Tears, while iconic for Castlevania, first appeared in Castlevania 2 Simon’s Quest. Erzsabet Bathory appeared in Castlevania Bloodlines which took place in 1917. Her name in it was Elizabeth Bartley and she was Dracula’s niece. She is trying to resurrect him. Drolta was a witch in the same game who worked for Elizabeth.

If it hasn't been mentioned yet, Julia's coat in Nocturne's first episode seems based on Richter's new one in Symphony of the Night, the one he wears as a boss and in the epilogue.

The voice actor for Olrox "Zahn McClarnon" in Castlevania Nocturne does a phenomenal job, he sounds both freighting and distinguished at the same time. As much as i love almost everything about season 4, he is in my opinion is the most interesting character in the entire season. Of all the praises i could give the Netflix show runners one of the many would be hiring the best voice actors for each character, from Dracula to Alucard, Issac and Saint Germain, Carmila to Olrox. All of them do an amazing job and help make each of them more interesting.

Drolta and the Vampire Messiah are characters from Castlevania: Bloodlines. (So, Drolta is sort of a mix mash of the Succubus and the old witch in Bloodlines.) I don't think most casual fans have played Bloodlines before.

My god you realise how the writers of Nocturne didnt even read the source material with the lack of game references, and the only references the show has are the really obvious ones like character names and attacks. The writers of the OG series made so many tiny details that wouldnt even been seen if you didnt pause the video while Nocturne references are such obvious and last for a whole minute, like if the writers are telling you "LOOK!! JUST LIKE IN THE GAMES!!!" ugh...

One of the theories I’ve had since watching Nocturne is about the Abbot and Maria’s mother. In Symphony of the Night there is a room in the chapel that has two chairs. If you sit in the left chair, a ghost of a priest who is dressed suspiciously close to the abbot in Nocturne will either pray for you or attack you. If you sit in the other chair, the ghost of a woman appears and either cries or attacks you. I used to think this was Alucard’s mother confessing to a random priest, and it still very well could be, but how similar the abbot looks to the priest in SotN made me think about that.

Oh another detail: When Richter is speaking with Maria, Annette, Edouard, and Maria's mother, he's using his whip to grab his stakes out of the trees. This references the games where you can use Richter's whip to catch items in one of the games.

I liked how the old-school special weapons at some point made appearances (axe to knock down a cross, holy water to destroy the rebis, boomerang cross being much used and super versatile). My favorite was making the traditionally lame dagger the ultimate weapon though! 😂

At the start of CV3 Trevor does this dramatic turn around/flourish of the cloak, which he then never again wears for the remainder of the game. Which is sort of like how in the series he starts off drunk and half-assing life, until he decides to get serious. Then he takes off his cloak, exposing the Belmont crest on his shirt, and stays like that for the rest of the show.

my only real issue is Elizabeth Bathory. Whilst she is the historical countess, in the games Elizabeth Bartley was the name given and she was Dracula's niece in Bloodlines/ Generations. Carmilla, based on the historical countess as John le Fanu wrote the novel which first made her a supernatural creature and inspired: Dracula the novel

Worse, they played with the CV timeline to put Bathory/Bartley in the same era as Richter and Olrox almost 100 years before the events of Bloodlines the game and in doing so all but guaranteed the removal of any portrayal of heroes John Morris and Eric Lecarde in favor of giving Annette powers she never had and making her a girlboss.

I'm trying to remember but I think the events of Bloodlines were the 1500's or 1800's I cannot remember precisely which where Symphony was around 1145 somewhere latest the 1400's so yus quite a gap plus if memory serves Juste Belmont came after Richter not before.... Driving myself nuts now trying to remember the numbers from The Castlevania Dungeon xD

@@claudijatzandrapova3347 You mean Tera, who was even less relevant than Annette originally, was turned into Maria's mom, which I'm personally half-and-half about since it gives her more story relevance and explains better why Maria has powers, but takes away the game aspect that Richter was rescuing two "random" village maidens other than Maria and Annette. Even though in the show Tera's sister wasn't named I assume they were planning on calling her Iris. Frankly, I'm more shocked that they held themselves back from revealing the abbot's surname as Shaft or Shaupft or similar variant the entire season. Bloodlines was apparently in 1917 according to Dungeon (I'm looking at its timeline page as I write this) and Juste in Harmony was in 1748, so before Richter but more likely father than grandfather. I'm definitely with you that CV's history even before Netflix decided to screw around with it is rather convoluted and that even though I've played many of the games myself I still needed to go to a website like Castlevania Dungeon to get info like the proper timeline straight. Given that Bloodlines, Rondo, and Symphony literally saved the franchise (and Bloodlines in particular was one of the games that saved Konami after the Treasure exodus), one would think that the Netflix Nocturne series would treat the material with better reverence than it has so far.

@@apollolux ahh Tera, ty I did miss that name out xD. I have this feeling S1 was trying to set up the Rondo of Blood story though they mixed in a lot of the source into it. If lucky they should now have the girls kidnapped angle considering Báthory's now established preference for young girls, which we know from the game as a bigger aspect of the story

@@claudijatzandrapova3347 It's a very roundabout way to get to the kidnapping angle and I'm personally not a fan of how they executed it. As for Rondo, my expectation (as I'm pretty sure was the expectation of many who were actually familiar with the source material before the show premiered) was that Nocturne was going to start with Rondo and have Olrox as the big bad as they originally advertised, then (probably) Shaft reveals himself (I'm still expecting it's the abbot, but these writers clearly don't respect the source material), brainwashes Richter to kick off the events of Symphony, either give Rondo and Symphony equal time (maybe two seasons each) or maybe 40% Rondo/60% Symphony or so since Symphony was the more popular game and the savior of the franchise. Literally nobody expected any inclusion of the Bloodlines story going into the series unless it was somehow leaked.

the priest maria's father, can be seen in symphony of the night game. in the church room where you confess your sins. after sitting down for 3 seconds he will appear and sit with you. then disappears a few seconds later and drops and item. the merchant that isaac met and gave him the magic mirror can also be seen in symphony of the night. he is the storage keeper that will sell you items.

Thing about that... In Symphony of the Night, I've had Alucard sit in that confessional several times in several different save files over the years. Sometimes the ghost priest will laugh and try to damage Alucard with a weapon. Sometimes the ghost priest will make the sign of the cross and disappear. Only ONCE have I ever had the ghost priest drop a "Grape Juice" item upon disappearing. I don't know if it's just random chance like other item drops, or if there are certain conditions for the item to appear. As for the shop keeper in the animated series... I suppose he may be somewhat loosely based on Symphony's Librarian... Not really sure.

The original songs and name. When Alucard, Trevor and Silph enters Draculas castle and start fighting the Castlevania 3 theme starts, not only that but Alucard says "Begin" as the fight starts but the name of the song is also called "Begining". The same way in Nocturne when Ritcher awakens his powers again you can hear the Draculas X (Rondo of Blood) theme.

Drolta Tzuentes was a double Easter egg. Not only was she was a throwback to the succubus in sotn but also her was throwback to CV bloodline. She was Dracula 2nd form in the last stage.

The village that Alucard recieves a request from for help in season 4 and subsequently saves by bringing the villagers to his castle/the Belmont estate, is called dinesti, which, while a bit different than grants last name, still sounded like a nod to him as well as the road pirate commentary.

Drolta is not the same type of Succubus like the one from SoTN. She is closer to the ones in Circle of the Moon in appearance.

Richter does Terry Bogard signature move, Power Dunk when fighting Drolta, as a reference for both being in Smash Bros. The epithets for Sekhmet "The Lady of Slaughter" and "She Who Mauls", although are well known, feel like they are a reference to Eliza from Skullgirls.

Alucard does his double jump during the final fight in Season 4. The Dawn of Sorrow boss Gorgoth makes an appearance in Season 4. Richter does his knife throw item crash in nocturne. When Richter gets his powers back, he literally does the Grand Cross item crash. Slogra and Gaibon appear in the first series, and even pull off their tag team attack together. When Juste is introduced, he briefly has an afterimage as he walks holding the whip, like in the games. Juste's backstory is essentially the bad ending in his game.

I only noticed the more obvious of those secrets, but they where indeed there! Dracula's boss attack and Alucard's faithfulness to Symphony designs where especially gratifying! (Although I think the latter was a given. Fans would SO call them out if they deviated from that famous design.)

-In Castlevania Bloodlines for the Sega Genesis there is the Versailles stage which made it into the show. - The eclipse of Castlevania Nocturne reminds me of Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow because that was a big event as well which is shown in the show. -Saint Germain wearing his iconic Curse of Darkness outfit in one of the flashbacks and not to mention the Infinite Corridor

The eclipse was important in Aria of sorrow. Within the eclipse Dracula's castlevania was sealed away. In DoS Celia was somehow able to copy the castle and connect it to the kingdom of Dracula i.e. Hell

There were three instants of Grant Danasty eastereggs in the Castlevania Netflix series. 1.) Grant's image is one the head vandit that harrased Isaac before he was killed and turned into the beast, which was the boss of the clock tower. 2.) Grant's occupation, which was mentioned in season 3, Pirate of the road. Lol 3.) Grant's surname and new occupation albeit with a spelling variation, The village of Danesty helping displaced people of nearby village, towns and cities.

Fun fact:Konami fired all employee of original castlevania games, included Koji Igarashi, the man who make all original castlevania games, the only way Konami wanted to revive this games of course, dead cells new DLC called the return of castlevania

Wrong. Koji Igarashi’s first Castlevania game was SOTN. He was a fan of the franchise and started putting ideas during the developing of Rondo of Blood, he was working for Konami in other projects and his wife was working on Rondo. The original Castlevania team was fired after Castlevania 3, because of lack of sales.

Im not sure if this IS an easter egg or not, but in the first series when St Germain was in Infinite Corridor (think it was one of the last times) where he was opening up the many diferent portals looking for his girlfriend, one of them looks to be in a grave yard. This sort of looks like a shot of one of the endings of Castlevania 2 thats in color,, looking at the same grave stone. Its quick, you have to pause it to notice.

In the game I thought Sypha was an old man in a gray/blue cloak. until the ending when she let down her hair. under Belmont's keep I did pause on that cabinet looking for the morning star and it was on the broken wall after all, I thought that was the whole chicken reference. anyone who want a "Simon Quest" adaptation I know that they will ruin the new Dracula and Alucard ending in season 2, but they can switch Antagonist Isaac still have Demons roaming freely in Camilla's castle.

I would love to see all of the games made into series. They all have great stories. They could do a Simon’s Quest with a different vampire or even using Death as the main villain since Dracula has been redeemed or maybe Carmela.
