Road legal here in Canada ,I parked my T-REX trike for most of the summer as the surron was way more fun and cheaper to run, and cops don't pull me over on a surron lol

I’ve only had my e bike (not surron) for a not even a full year yet and have already gotten some of the stereotypes you mentioned. Remember some teenager called me a e-bike b**ch. I just yelled back “sorry your gf had me get it cuz she couldn’t wait for me” 😭 But for body gear you don’t need that much protective stuff as mentioned. I’d say Full face helmet at least although you probably won’t get any facial damage unless you fall in an awkward or funky way. What you should be more investing has prob got to be sun screen and layers for weather. Since 99% of the time I bike is in the day when the sun is out. I’ve gotten burns and rashes from the sun with all the time being out(not to mention I went from a light skin to LeBron James in less than a month 😭). And layers not to protect from falling but for the cold as riding in 65 degrees feels like 40 when using power. Thermal long sleeves, warm gloves, and maybe a neck bandanna could keep all you open skin areas warm especially in the winter.

You can actually replace a lot of these parts with DH mountain bike parts, however DH mountain bike parts are a lot more expensive, but you get lighter and a lot better performance.

Wear a backpack or for real gear get a leat chest and back protector it’s saved me a few times I’ve gotten the wind knocked outta me once without gear then I fell with it and I was fine other than some road rash

They do indeed make Surron and talaria specific brakes. Volta sport brakes are one set. And Lewis EP 8 are another brake set!

so about the one with the friends wanting to ride it. I've had it happen with other things i have a traxxas xmaxx if you don't know what that is its a 20 pound remote control car that can do 20 foot jumps and do 50 miles per hour. My friend said yeah I've driven one before and i don't let anyone drive it but i trusted him, he then went full throttle into him self knocking him over and badly injuring him (not super bad but had a bruise for a week and got a gash in his leg so not the worst) the car was probably doing 15 miles per hour and since he was shocked he held the throttle still and it wedged its self under a car i had to use all my force to get it out. i was mind blown luckily nothing was broken and he was fine but I've had this happen with other rc cars and they do break cause they are smaller. I've also don't this with a Yamaha pw80 when i was 6 so i was dumb and had no idea the kid crashed it super hard and bent something i forget what.

be careful with front air forks honestly getting some like honda crg150 forks would work better. theres a reason most dirtbikes dont use airforks even though its llighter big jumps should use a good set of spring forks

The "Get a real bike" is actually just saying how it doesn't take any skill to ride a surron while a dirt bike takes years of perfecting. Also rebuilds and maintience is just part of the riding life, you grow to get used to it. Everyone has to be honest, the sound of a crisp fine tuned 2 stroke dirt bike just sounds amazing. Most people who say this actually do have experience, yes some are little kids on their 50cc bikes but most of them are people who ride 450's and could never switch to a electric version. No hate to you surrons but I had to specify.

Im ngl where I am I have never met a single actually chill sur ron rider... They all blast past you going 40 on bike paths, they don't signal at all and just veer into lanes (they're not even supposed to be in the road) and I saw one lane splitting at a stop light going 30 with 3 kids on one bike. I ride an electric skateboard that can go much faster than most of the speed limits but you don't see me being a dipshit. I've gotten pulled over TWICE because of sur ron kids. They blasted past me and the cops decided to pull me over isntead lol. Like no hate to the sport but I think it needs to be regulated a bit better and almost be harder to access fully you know?
