I talked to a cop this last weekend about e-bikes. It’s a rural area and I use mine, not a surron, to go to a grocery store and for trail riding at a local park. Asked what he thought about upgrading to something stronger and he said “we’ve already noticed you in the area. Keep doing what you have been and there won’t be problems.” I don’t even wear a helmet. Don’t do wheelies and stay out of traffic.

For me this thing is my commuter and a realiable way to get around, I put around 200 miles on it every week. I think everyone who gets a surron is gonna customize it to fit their needs somehow, for me it was a custom made 60v 75ah pack that gives me around 4 real kwh to use for range, a custom power limiter that sits between the battery and controller, I can set the maximum output wattage freely, for me its set to 1500 watts for extra range. (This way I can guarantee at least 2.5 hours of riding, reallistically up to 4 hours) I got street tires for better grip on tarmac and less rolling resistance and a riser bar along with a big cushy seat so I can be comfortable, I am 6.5" and 230 pounds so these were needed. Bigger breaks because the stock ones might be enough, I feel way safer on the bigger breaks, they are so strong that I could lock the front wheel at any speed.

Sur Ron riders on trails are a serious problem for trail maintenance and it's usually the mountain bikers who are out there with shovels taking care of the trails. Be kind to them, and if you ride your ebike on trails take part in taking care of the trail.

as a mountain biker that builds trails and jumps, having motorbikes come in and destroy the trails a lot quicker then anticipated is very heart breaking, yes trails break over time but lets keep them as good as possible for as long as possible, by one DONT DRIFT ON BERMS OR THE TRAIL. please

yeahh i agree. I don't build trails and am not nearly a pro at biking itself but i still love riding good trails (hats off to y'all builders) and even if the bike is electric, it still weighs a crap ton and its extremely obvious when motor bikes with those wide ass knobby tires have been through a trail recently. It's especially annoying when they ride something on the regular and start unintentionally carving bits of the trail. i rather hate riding through silt as well, and riding in a purely desert area, when they break up the dirt thats been compacted so well for a while, its really dry and there's no leaves or rain or anything to help pat the dirt back down, just waiting another couple months of everybody riding over it again to pack it down. Not to mention the illegal riding outside the city in national park lands breaks up thousands-of-years-old mammoth fossils and rock formations and stuff. I also understand that dirt bikers' intention is to have fun just like mtb'ers so I wish there was a way they could have their own seperate place to ride that's not a multimillion dollar, billion acre dirt park they gotta shove in their backyard. street skating used to be a serious problem to many people in cities but skateparks being built solved that issue so all of us have a specialized place we can hone our skills without destroying benches or getting run over by cars or whatever.

The area around where I live used to be great riding for us on 250s or even pit bikes. When Christmas of 2022 came around, a mass group of 8th-10th graders started buying surrons just to downright harass us. We could be at a spot and those kids could call the cops on us to get our bikes impounded and for them to move into our spot. I’m not against surrons, it’s the people on them.

I am a mountain biker, and I absolutely love surrons. I can already do so many stunts on my mountain bike, especially on the streets. E.g. wheelies, one hand wheelies, no hands, circle wheelies, most of the tricks I do a wheelies, but I still love surrons.😊

I think the speed demons should be respected just the same as the stunt riders or senders. Both being dangerous and unlimited spending will eventually crash hard. I honestly consider the surron as an electric mountain bike, it is really uncomparable to a dirtbike because 1. its electric 2. it doesn't have a clutch or foot brake 3. Doesn't have the power without mods to even closely keep up with a skilled dirt bike rider and 4. does not take even close to the amount of skill as a real dirtbike, it can take years to get good at dirtbiking but you can hand a baby a surron and they can probably wheelie it 5. No RING DING DING DING BRAPPPPPPPPPP

You still have to obey speed limits. It doesn't matter what you are riding or driving. 35 mph is 35 mph. Road bikes can and do get faster than that, especially going downhill and I've known bikers to get tickets for breaking the speed limit.

I really hate LAPD sometimes, sometimes when I ride the cops are really chill and they’re nice, whenever I’m riding past they’ll even beep sometimes to be friendly. And in other times, I was at a stop light and a cop car pulled up infront of me, no joke blocking traffic and then found myself running from them and losing them once I got into a forest as they couldn’t enter. I don’t like considering myself a criminal, but trying to detain me and almost pushing me off my bike is flat out stupid for simply riding a Surron and not even violating many laws, what is the harm of doing a wheelie when your careful and aware of yours surroundings.

If I had to choose, and I was rich, I would rather have a storm bee than a light bee. The more dirt bike feel just makes me more comfortable on an e bike. I’ve tried electric assisted mountain bikes but I hate them with a passion because I can’t throw them around like a toy because of their weight. Even then I would rather a KTM E-XC as I will trust KTM over Surron any day.

why do surron speed bros think belts are any more efficient than chains? look at harley drag racing bikes, harleys are originally belt driven, but the drag racing guys all use chains. chains don't stretch like belts, they're way more responsive. the biggest benefits are low maintenance and they don't cut your into your leg or destroy your motor when a belt snaps.
