Kratom is a tea brewed from a leaf that grows in southeast Asia. The Kratom plant has many effects on the body and mind, and is often a great way to reduce pain and reduce other opiate use. Garre and Ezra talk about their experiences after quitting drinking Kratom and how they've realized life is more exciting after stopping Kratom use. We discuss 10 things we've realized since quitting the substance. You too can quit if you put your mind to it- it gets better every day!

I never knew how emotionally unstable Kratom made me until I got off it. I used to get incredibly angry and sad at work because my ex gf ruined my life. So during my breaks I would take some Kratom and feel better. But then an hour and a half in I would get incredibly angry and depressed again. I thought "see this is why I need the Kratom. It keeps the horrible depression away." However once I got off Kratom, after a few weeks, I noticed that I wouldn't get as angry or depressed. I still felt bad but i didn't go from feel good to incredibly angry. It was a much more stable mood.

This video just helped me so much. I’m so disappointed in how much I allowed kratum to overtake in the past 6 months. I long for that veil to be lifted like you guys speak of and it just motivates me and gives me hope to hear you speak. I’m doing it this week: i bought a bunch of supplements and I’m not working for 2 weeks. I’m sober from everything else so I can’t wait to feel that peace again. Thank you guys !

I equate kratom to a very small hook, hydrocodone a lot bigger, heroin even bigger, and Fent is just pure death. Kratom works on the same receptors as opiates. That why the potentiaters are exactly the same, caffeine, grapefruit juice, etc. I somehow got clean after 20 years of opiate abuse, but I am finding myself taking kratom and getting the same feeling that hooked me 20 years ago. While the withdrawals are MUCH lighter, they are still there. It’s all so familiar and I need to watch my step

Quitting Kratom now and you guys said it right on the dot. Worst part was the emotional imbalance. I was getting mad for no reason, cutting people out of my life but then would instantly regret it a day or two later. The scary thing is that opiates do the same thing to you. Without opiates, or even Promethazine / Codiene get you very angry without it. Thinking the binding of the kratom to the opiate receptors is what causes this. Withdrawls are no where near opiates but very very uncomforatble still

Hi guys. I like your frank assessment about Kratom effect on your body & mind. I plant Kratom in Kalimantan Indonesia (Borneo). It was NOT meant for recreation use, my advice is always: If you don't have problem, don't start looking for it Why do I farm it then? In Borneo, there is aboriginal Dayak tribe who will not consume modern medicine because they are considered poison, as they are manufactured in the lab (true). So those tribe use Kratom to treat injury - they use poison arrows & darts to hunt for food. They also use it to treat gum disease (they don't brush teeth with Colgate). Kratom is also a potent painkillers. Many city folks who suffer after surgery, chemotherapy, are using Kratom. I guess, Kratom is the natural & organic solution. But I am glad to hear both of you off Kratom. GBU.

I’ve had experiences where kratom impacted my anger and stress. When you find other healthy coping skills that can replace the rituals around drinking or taking kratom, that’s the first step. completely relate to this video! I used Kratom to deal with a very stressful event in my life (abusive ex courts so many financially things intermingled & so much more it would take a youtube series to talk about) & chronic back pain. I gave up alcohol - it’ll be 2 years in Jan. I experienced some of the same symptoms you experienced when you stopped. I am a little over 2 weeks off of it - so very new. I have no withdrawal symptoms but feel tired! I just want my old energetic self back. My main reasons for stopping Kratom was the digestive issues & I felt stupid after awhile lol. Like I wasn’t thinking correctly or creatively. I still think about it but trying to develop healthier habits in place of it to keep me off it. Appetite is back full force lol. Back pain isn’t so bad as I thought it was going to be. I also noticed I am laughing a lot more like those hood ‘hard belly laughs’ I don’t hate the drug but for me it’s not worth the side effects. Great Video.

It’s better to discuss addiction itself because every bad experience I’ve heard so far are from those who have abused Kratom along with a history of abuse. One guy reported 50 grams per day, thats abuse and so Kratom shouldn’t be framed in any way.

You can get addicted to Kratom. Yeah sure taking 50 grams is crazy and it shouldn't be taken everyday. But yeah. It's potentially addictive. You can and should frame it that way. Doesn't mean you or anyone else shouldn't take it if they decide that's what's best for them. Everyone who takes Kratom should be warned though.

@@Kid_Ikaris those who get addicted to Kratom have abused it and have a history of abuse. The stories are typical - I started with 3 grams and ended up taking 25+ grams, therefore, the subject matter should be abuse and not blaming Kratom.

@@offthechainfitness I agree 💯. I'm an addict, have been one for 30 years now. Been a hard life. I've been taking kratom for over 6 years. I'm at 15gs dosses at 3-4 times a day. It's hell I assure you. I will have to go through rehab to stop at this point. But then again I have never been to a rehab center so I don't know what I would expect. However it's either kratom or it would have been prescription pain pills and other hard substances. I've never been a drinker nor do I care for alcohol so I'm very thankful in that aspect. I come from a long family history of alcoholics and drug abusers. I'm not blaming my family for my problems just a little backstory. All this type of stuff comes with a price, its pretty obvious but those who are struggling, remember withdrawals wont last forever and they wont kill you so if being on Kratom sucks stop taking it and deal with a few days pain. I was drinking 2-3 shots of extract(2 doses per bottle) for about a year, so an average of about 28-35 doses a week. It really motivated me and was like a social lubricant. Plus it felt good in general. I stopped cold turkey, it's day 5 and I'm still having trouble sleeping(hypnic jerks). This week has been ROUGH.. I had no idea the withdrawal symptoms would be so bad. Bad anxiety, mood swings and a twitchy feeling.. I'm not knocking kratom but I was abusing it and decided it was time to let it go. Hey! Hopefully your journey is continuing. I got screwed also because I didn't know there would be withdrawals, though in retrospect I guess maybe I should expect that. But I didn't have any experience other than with Pharmaceuticals, and I thought that because it's a plant that it would be different. The longest I've gone is a day and a half out of the last two years where I didn't drink kratom. My face was red, my legs and arms felt kind of like they had electricity going through them. I was just generally physically uncomfortable and mentally just kind of cloudy and out of it. When I first ever took Kratom, I didn't like the fact that it kind of made me feel at the end of the day like I had been out of my mind. It felt like it disconnected me from my thoughts and I didn't like that, but as time has gone on I began to use it for exactly that reason, so it makes it very hard coming back to reality with a torrent of thoughts and emotions that I'm used to not having to deal with.

I see a few comments comparing Kratom to opioids, I’ve been taking Kratom almost 2 years . And my opinion is the withdrawal is close enough to opioids that we really should be getting off this plant. Some parts of opioid withdrawal are worse but I feel it’s very personal and with some people the withdrawal is an equal struggle. I’ve been tapering, trying other drugs, and stoping days I can for about a year. My latest craze is taking like 2 mg Thurs morning, methadone . pouring out the Kratom another 2 of methadone Fri morning. It takes my mind of Kratom, lol and everything else, but just gives me the confidence to kick the Kratom train . But ! I’m still dabbling so idk. Hey guys, thanks so much for this video. I have been doing kratom since before Covid September 2019 and I am on day four of not having any. I have been having it every night 2 tablespoons Indo kratom in tea with milk (to not stain my teeth, but it has anyway and that upsets me a lot) - I call it sludge because it’s disgusting but I would drink it because it would make me feel so calm. I tried to quit it a few times in the past but always broke down and bought another big bag of Kratom. It is helpful to hear about the withdrawal because I feel like a cranky bitch I’m so irritable and I miss the high of the relaxation of Kratom. I really really really really miss it it’s hard. But I don’t want to be addicted to it anymore. I don’t want to be addicted to anything for one thing. I am sober don’t drink and don’t do drugs but this thing I thought was natural and like you said, it is insidious. I want to power through entity five and hopefully start to feel better. But I feel so lethargic and disgusting and disgusted. I have no energy. I’m really depressed and I used to be a happy person. So I don’t know if it’s Covid or Kratom. But I just am not gonna buy anymore. I don’t want to do it anymore. It’s a disgusting habit the way I have to drink that sludge. I would dread it but I would do it like a slave because it made me feel so good. And I couldn’t drink more than 2 tablespoons or I would feel nauseous. So no way I could over abuse it. Because it would make me sick. Thank you for listening to me rant. And just get this out into the ether. By the way, I have been calling it Cray dumb. I’ve been pronouncing it wrong this whole time.

I started taking Kratom for pain relief after a brain injury and many seizures caused me to have falls and injuries to my back. I just thought it was the best thing ever and I would never need pain medication again. I realize now that this is also a pain medication, and I am abusing it. I take about 1/4 to 1/2 tsp three times a day. I had gone two days without it and wanted to go out of town without it. I ended up staying in the hotel room crying the entire time having an emotional breakdown and causing it another argument with my husband over my Kratom use. I realize then that I couldn't do a cold turkey. I ordered 4 oz and I'm trying to wean off with that. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to go anywhere I don't want to be touched I don't want to talk... I hate it. I hate me on it. 😔

I have a very addictive personality. I took 2 weeks off of work so that I can quit. I am ready in my soul. October 1st let's go! Wish me luck. I have been taking it for a long time and I get horrific withdrawals. Kratom is very addictive and people need to be aware of that.

Hey Jeremy, I admit to taking Kratom irresponsibly, at one point I was taking 4tbsp of Red Vein powder 4-6 times a day. For close to a year. I had no idea there was a withdrawal, until one night I woke up with RLS. It hit me that I was withdrawing. So I decided to quit CT, and within 12hours the withdrawal was so severe, I could not get comfortable no matter what I did, I was miserable. I took it to help manage PTSD, from two combat tours in Iraq, and along with severe back pain, it worked wonderfully for that. So now I’ve become an expert on what to do, to get off of it, but do note that I’m only going off of my own experience, and listening to others experience. If you are taking a high amount each day and want to quit, I would highly develop a plan to taper off of it. Today I’m on day 5 of not taking Kratom leaf. I suggest looking into Stem and Vein. There’s a company online called “Relax Remedy” that’s where I found S&V, it’s affordable, I purchased two bags of 100g. I started three weeks ago to taper. The first thing I did was I did a 24 hour fast from it, then cut my serving in half, while maintaining my frequency. That 24 hours was brutal but it gave me a sense of how severe the withdrawal was, but when I took half of the serving I normally take, I was able to stabilize back to normal. Every 3-4 days I would lower my serving by a 1/4 tsp. Stem and Vein is the by product of the plant, it’s has minimal amounts of the green leaf, it still provides the same effects as the leaf, but it’s not as potent, and the withdrawal from it is not as severe, there still is some withdrawal. It was a week ago I finally had my serving down to 3tsp of the leaf. Once I received the S&V I was able to make my servings 50/50 part S&V part leaf, then every three days I would take less of the leaf upping the amount of S&V, and today day 5 I’m off of the leaf, without any major withdrawal. I’m down to 3/4tsp of S&V I take a serving in the morning and try to stretch out the frequency every 6 hours I’ll take a serving. Stay hydrated, take vitamin C, Agmatine Sulfate is a good supplement to take, black seed oil I have heard is another good one to take, recently I’ve heard Grapefruit juice is good, the Agmatine, Grapefruit juice and Black seed oil, are considered potentiators. Try to get some daily exercise in even if it’s walking, try to eat as healthy as possible, anything to support good immune health. Most of all be good to yourself, it’s a slow journey, after 5 years of use that’s quite a habit to break, but with a solid plan and support from friends and family you can do it. Let me know if I can offer you any more advice.

There's a fine line. Like I love and hate it. I don't blame kratom at all. I blame myself. Being an addict I should have known and got this under control quicker. I just let it go. Maxed credit cards, borrowed from everyone and spent almost ever $ of my checks on it. It helps in a lot of ways so it's hard to weigh out pros and cons. I know that the $36 a day extract isn't possible but I don't know about nothing. Guess I'll find out. Gotta at least try.
