I don't know why, but you are the only person that seems to get through to my brain. The way you explain things, and your ideas are just so easy to understand and to implement. And your voice and ambiance of your videos is so calming. Thank you for all of your information, and help!

The time management is the hardest for me, I'm not working 9 to 5 like most people these videos and all those books are aimed to, I'm up at 5, traveling an hour to work, work 7 to 5:30, then hour back home if I don't have to stop anywhere, home by 6:30ish, by time I'm home I'm totally drained especially after working a strenuous day, lately it's getting home taking a shower, eating and laying down too tired to think, it really sucks, I'm trying to read sitting my breaks at work and trying to get on my laptop when i can to learn computer skills because my doctor wants me to change careers to something inside like an office job because I've also been working with a torn ligament in my right elbow, to which I'm getting surgery on this fall, so I love watching videos like this on my way to work or way home to try get motivated, but body usually has other plans, but thank you for making videos like this and I hope I get there so I can create extra income for my future.

I found your videos last year when I was trying to make passive income on ETSY, and I don’t sell on ETSY anymore because my product wasn’t scaleable.. I still follow because of these type of videos you make. Watching these videos just hits different when you are in your 30’s feeling burnt out on your full time, seeking better ways to spend your time and reflecting on those moments. I always look forward to your videos!

Thank you Tim. I think one of the most valuable things you said in this video is deciding up front whether it is going to be a business or a hobby. If it’s a business, it’s not going to be fun all the time. I needed to hear that. I am in the early stages of growth of my KZbin channel. It can be hard to keep going. But, I know in a few years even, I will be glad I stuck with it.

I love how you throw in some philosophy that applies to the subject. It really helps break from the info dump and makes it a lot easier to retain information (at least for me). Clicked this to learn side hustles and learned a little more. Definitely subscribing!

Thanks for making these videos, Tim! Your advice just now on "don't wait for perfection" really clicked with me as I'm currently building up inventory of items before launching my shop, and many of the products I'm working on have been in development for several months. Some of them are due to only being able to put in 3hrs a week, but others are driven purely by "I want this to be great for whoever buys this". And I suspect, even after lots of beta-testing with my products, if my items sell well, I'll still get feedback on how the product could have improved. And that's something to embrace.

I'm a school teacher and need to follow that 80% into work rule. Us teachers tend to be martyrs, the quantity of kids can drain our energy, and going home depleted is no good. I'm going to focus on 80% energy, then maybe Ill have 20% to imagine a side hustle
@lindsey_riane4 ай бұрын
Wow, this 80% rule is brilliant - thanks, Tim! Wonderful video. I learned a lot and you have a very elegant, clear way of explaining these concepts - and interesting concepts and way you're thinking about side hustles vs. investing and percent on return, etc. 🌻

Thanks for your insights, I am in the beginning of my journey of starting my Etsy sticker business, purchasing equipment and working on my designs. I'm a perfectionist, so I know this is going to be a rough journey already. I want to run a business and not a hobby, I want to do a job that I don't dread going to every day. Your insights are helping me reframe my thinking process, and hopefully will help me to provide for my family and be happier long term.

can you make a video about how to talk in front of the camera? you seem so natural and your voice is so calming. do you have a script? if so, how does your script look like? is it word by word or bullet points? and how do you keep your eyes on the camera while reading it like you do...if you have a script of course.

It's very common business advice to 'solve a problem' when coming up with an idea for a service or product. But what about products that are a luxury? For example, your stickers solve a problem, but there are plenty of sticker shops that sell purely aesthetic or decorative stickers. What determines whether those businesses succeed or fail?
@TimKoa9 ай бұрын
People are tribal and want to signal to others unique things about themselves. Sticker shops that do well are ones that help customers show off their personality or identity in some way. Whether you're an engineer, nurse, cat lover, or whatever, putting a sticker on your mug that tells others about themselves is worth it for some people. People buy things to express themselves and these products help them solve that problem.

Hey Tim, great video, congrats on your success. I notice you make videos about different topics, i.e. etsy, side hustles, personal development, youtube, etc. I kind of do the same thing but I'm worried that doing so many different niches is bad for my channel. My channel is still very small, but I'd love to get to a better point. Any word of advice?
@TimKoa9 ай бұрын
Hmm.. my advice would be to make a bunch of different kinds of videos and see what sticks. Once something does, you can double down and make similar videos. It looks like your videos about your rental business do well. If you wanted to focus on growth that's a topic you can make more videos about. I would also say don't make all your videos purely for the algorithm though. It's an easy way to burn out fast. There's a variety of topics on my channel because I simply want to make them and I think they would help people. If I was making a bunch of videos on the same topic it would get boring fast and it wouldn't be as fun. Hope that helps!

Great video, lots of good knowledge, but the investing part is always a bit odd to me and seems to not land everytime I see this...yes you can buy this item when you are young and ENJOY as you would enjoy it, or you could invest it, not get the item, not enjoy it, and wait until your elderly when you can't acquire the item, or if you do, not enjoy it as much, LOL...certainly there is a happy medium? 🙂
