Avoiding heat is a must for 4C hair that has a slow growth rate...I've done all the things naturalistas say but one consistent practice has been no heat. Slowly i can see length retention after 2yrs of no heat. Love from Kenya

I have 4c hair and I see it grows actually quickly the trick is retaining that length. I bleached a patch of my hair just for an experiment to see how much it would grow and in 6 months I’ve had at least 4 inches on new growth it’s just hard to retain that length. Of that 4+ inches I’ve probably retained 1 and 1/2 inches of it 🙃

First off….your hair is my hair goal! Love it! Also: the only way I feel my hair will grow is if I leave it cornrowed and I wear wigs or weave (that isn’t harsh around my edges--I watch that). I just started going on my hair challenge within the month. Have you had this experience before with wearing cornrows? Mini braids/mini twists, box braids, kinky twists, and/Senegalese twists never seem to do anything for my hair except help my hair retain the length it was before I put in the twists/braids. I have honestly treated my hair like my baby since I started my natural journey in 2013 and it’s now 2022 and my hair doesn’t even come close to the length yours is. I just don’t think it’s meant 🤷🏾‍♀️

Same!! But in my case, I have fine strands but thick dense hair so mini Twists and braided styles cause tension on my strands or if kept longer than 2-3 weeks start to Matt my hair. IMO Cornrows are the easiest to install, maintain, and takedown out of all the braids styles and so my hair seems happy…for now lol. So I see what you’re saying, that could be why it’s the only style that’s worked for you. Just keep experimenting with low manipulation styles and moisture regimens. Avoid tangles wherever you can. Get a hair diary if you need to. Eventually you’ll find that sweet spot for dealing with your curls. Good luck!

@BarbaraBirungiSunflower 2 жыл бұрын
@@orikirizacharliebrown3912 yay! Nice meeting you. Hair breakage can be caused by a lot of things. One thing for sure is your 4c hair might be dry so I would encourage you to moisturise as often as possible. Water is the best moisturiser and Abu Dhabi is a bit humid so moisture is your friend in this case.

Hope this message finds you well. Would you be able to describe or show pics of what your breakage looks like. I have too many in my opinion longer and shorter pieces. My hair isn't growing as fast as it used to. I'm moisturizing once a week, F.D and trying to be very careful. I also wear my hair in twists most of the time. Protein treatments aren't doing anything. I've been using a sulfate shampoo on my scalp only and a conditioner to wash. Or just doing an acv rinse. I've been using a homemade leAve in or just using water and a Shea butter mix. I've been praying about it and doing everything right. I'm seeing slips and try to cut them out. For the one's I don't see. My hair is breaking there. Plus I have 4b and 4c strands through out my hair. I want to reach my goal. Please help.

Do you wear your twists with braiding hair? If so, that can be very drying. Not sure what hair type you have but you may need to moisturise more. Silk/satin pillowcases/bonnets at night? It honestly sounds as if you’re doing too much to be honest…have you tried a moisturising shampoo instead? Do you deep condition?
