10 Tips to Enable Self-Managing Teams

As a Scrum Master, you are the true leader, accountable for your Scrum Team’s effectiveness. As described in the Scrum Guide, you are accountable for serving your Scrum Team so they become a cohesive unit of professionals, focused, consistent and accountable for creating a valuable, useful Increment every Sprint.

Rotua - Great question. 1. First, make sure you have defined an outcome based measurable product goal that is clearly connected to the company's measurable outcome based goal. 2. Then, start asking people who you are trying to influence open ended questions to understand what OUTCOMES will become possible if the team achieves the OUTPUT that they are interested in. 3. See if you can help them draw a line from the OUTPUTS they want to the measurable OUTCOMES the company wants. 4. See if any new possibilities emerge for finding common ground.
