In this video I share some advice on how you can save money on your next remodel. There are a lot of tips and tricks to save money on renovations and this list is by no means covering all of them. For this list, I share some ideas on how to save money with your contractors by making things as efficient as possible in your interactions with them, as well as some tips to save money in purchasing materials and products for your home.
This list does not include buying used items, hiring unlicensed contractors, or anything that may compromise the long term integrity of your renovation.
As always, thank you so much for watching and let me know in the comments down below what you found helpful. Please be sure to like and subscribe to my channel if you would like to see more videos from me in the future.
Happy Remodeling!

As a volunteer at Habitat for Humanity in Charlotte, NC….I’d like to present the idea of having a crew from a local Habitat unit demo your kitchen in exchange for a donation of the removed cabinets and appliances to a Habitat Restore shop. Not all Habitat units offer the deconstruction service….and the items removed must have resale value…but it can save folks some hot $$$$ that can be used to refurbish the kitchen! P.S. - The deconstruction teams are artists at removing unneeded kitchen stuff…no need to worry about the quality of their work!!

I am so glad I found your channel. Your information is concise, thoughtful from both the homeowner vs contractor and presented very well. Thank God we have used the same contractor before and respect his workmanship and ethics. I hope others find you! You need to go viral👍

Hi Robert, we are buying a house that definitely needs updating. I’m feeling overwhelmed! So glad I found your videos. Where/how do I find a contractor like you???? We’ve met with 2 contractors and they each have their own style - one made everything we wanted sound like a hassle and a lot of work, the other made it sound like he could do what we wanted and then some. I just don’t know who can be trusted. Maybe you could do a video on this topic soon please. Also, where is your contracting company located? 😊 thanks again!

I so agree, who can be trusted?! Tip #10 for customers to be respectful and nice to the contractors is definitely accurate but this should so be reciprocal! What few times we have researched and hired professionals to do particular projects, the results has been less than desirable. You as a professional are providing me a service and it should be completed and done well- I would be happy to pay the price if this were so, rather than having to struggle to receive the quality of work the contractor stated that he could execute.

Future video idea: The must-haves in a 2021 kitchen/bathrm remodel contract, for the homeowner… with the understanding of 2021’s supply shortages, and skilled & licensed worker shortages. Thank you! Oh, have you thought of adding time stamps / chapters to the video? Great way for us to see the menu of items about to be discussed, watch the entire video & then click on the time stamp for easy reference.

Great and helpful content! Don't worry about longer videos because thorough is better than the crap sorry videos out there that are high on clickbait, low on information.

Hey Robert my recent fav remodel expert! thanks for sharing those tips they are really helpful as we are about to kick off our own remodelling project soon. We've decided to do the painting and flooring ourselves to save the labour cost, and it is much more fun this way! Some ideas for future videos now that you mentioned, how much do you know about toilets? the prices range from $100 to $3000 and I have no clue what would be a reasonable price range. I mean there must be some rule of thumb that under x dollars are garbage and exceeding y dollars would be not really necessary for basic use. I haven't found many good videos on toilet selections....

While I am certainly not an expert on toilets I could probably do a video to give an overview on these down the line. I will tell you that I have bought a toilet at Lowes for around $150 about 6 years ago that has worked wonderfully for me, no issues of any kind.
