Thank you for this video! I have been running into the same issue for more than a week trying to put a hem in my stretch lycra fabric. I'm new to all of this, so my frustration was starting to morph into hopelessness until I watched this video! I ordered new needles and will try to correct a few of the "mistakes" I've been making with this project, according to your advice. Thank you!

Realized I never followed up after I made your suggested changes. My sewing project absolutely flowed with NO issues as soon as I applied your advice - I changed needles and stitch length and from that point on, I had zero issues! THANK YOU! My frustration level was off the charts, and just learning how to properly sew lycra made all the difference.

Hi. Does a long Stitch not break with stretch fabrics?

You need to keep enough zigzag in the stitch to allow for stretch. It's the zigzag that keeps enough thread in an area to shift during stretch. A long narrow zigzag seam will stretch until the thread in the stitch becomes straight.

Hi Sara just a quick question, when using my Huskylock 21 and sewing lycra fabric do I have to put in a stretch needle? or is it ok with normal needles.?? AS I have not seen any overlock stretch needles to buy. Many thanks Annie

Could you do one on the lettuce edge/hem? I almost have the rolled hem mastered, except for how to make it more stitches per inch, but I'd really like to do the lettuce hem.
