@@mryam.11.3 hey! Salt water rinses, mouth wash rinses, advil and Tylenol together (I found the perfect mix was 2 advil and 1 tylenol) and a frozen bag of corn or something. I would immediately wake up and take the advil+Tylenol Then I'd do the salt water rinses, then I'd do the mouth wash and go lay down with the cold compress. I hope you manage to get some sleep :( Idk where you live, but these remedies are temporary fixes. I inevitably had to go to the walk in clinic and get antibiotics. I hope you make it through

This is literally my problem 😢 I haven't been to the dentist in years because they're so expensive and not only that but the last dentist I had gone to literally came in, followed by more of their doctors to restrain me because I was coughing and crying during an exam :/ I have major trust issues and anxiety from going to the dentist now, afraid they'll abuse me the way the first dentist office had.

@@jbsportscards7305 salt water with baking soda, rinse. Keep a spit bottle next to you, and a water bottle of room temp water. When the pain comes in waves just fill your mouth witth the room temp water rinse and spit after about 30 seconds. I find myself doing this for about 3 or 4 hours a day on and off ever few minutes but it relieves it a bit

This worked for me, AND FAST. I had severe pulsing pain with a molar and slept poorly, waking up continually. Crushed a clove of garlic and placed a small amount on problem gums/tooth. Kept adding fresh garlic about every hour. Severe pulsing pain was gone in 20-30 minutes. Also used ice pack on cheek. (Suggested by a Dentist in another video, to take 3 Advil capsules (600mg) three times a day for 3 days.) Will sleep with my head elevated tonight and see what happens, but the fast garlic relief was a blessing. Hope this works for you.

These are things that worked for me while I was in pain 1.warm saltwater 2. Ibuprofen (sometimes) 3. Orajel and other numbing ointments 4. Ice 5. Do not lay down flat sleep with your head elevated 6. Gargle the infected area with hydrogen peroxide as this will help with popping by the abscess after the tooth abscess has popped you will fill INSTANT RELIEF However none of these are permanent solutions you need antibiotics like amoxicillin and you must have the tooth pulled or a root canal or some form of dental work done if you are reading this and are in pain I wish you the best I know how much it hurts

I tried the warm salt water method, the pain ceased like it wasn’t even there. For that, thank you so much! Before that method, I was taking pain meds, cooling off my cheek and even shoving a medicine ball into the infected area (there’s a stomachache medicine in my country that also helps with toothaches when put into the infected tooth or gum region), which all worked for a few minutes but then the pain returned like a storm. Can’t wait for the appointment tomorrow to get the problem fixed, I miss getting decent sleep.

Never do that. It can flare up an abscess if that’s an issue for the situation. I had that happen. It sucks it right in and it ballooned up. I had to hand palm my jaw with downward pressure to allow it to burst. It was SO painful

There wasn’t much of an abscess, more of a weird hole where my whole tooth used to be with the root parts still lodged into the gums. I got the accursed things removed the day after I wrote the previous comment.

To anyone who may read this and is currently experiencing a horrible toothache, do not hesitate on calling your dentist to get a root canal or pulpotomy done. They don’t hurt and you’ll have instant relief. I had a horrible toothache that quite literally prevented from sleeping for 48 hours. I was in some of the worst pain I have ever been in and dreaded going to the dentist. I called my dentist, he got me in the next day and I was out of there in less than 45 mins and had a smile on my face. Dentist’s are superheroes and will help you so much. Don’t worry about it being painful, I assure you that you have nothing to worry about. You’re only going to worry about why you didn’t get in there quicker!

Some of these comments really made me laugh while I'm in agony here. The ones about sleeping standing upright had me in tears cause that's how I feel I'm gonna sleep tonight cause I got no sleep last night. I've tried a lot of things but I'd like to add one to the list - Coconut Oil! Just take a teaspoon and swish it around the sore tooth, definitely gives me temporary relief. I had clove oil so I made a mixture of clove and coconut oil 2 weeks back and it killed the pain instantly and it was gone for 2 weeks. Now it's back with revenge and I'm booked to get the tooth pulled tomorrow morning. What also worked for me strangely at times was just swishing room temp water in my mouth. It's so random. Mouthwash rinse followed by normal water. Also if you have Sensodyne toothpaste, that is helping me get by too. What's absolutely insane is how many Ibuprofen I've taken today and I can't tell if they're even helping one bit. I was taking Ibuprofen and chasing it with 1000mg Paracetamol too, bonkers. I've had Kidney Stones too before and I can tell you that it's worse than toothache but toothache stands up in it's own right for one of the most constant horrendous pains one can experience. Someone said they want to take pliers and pull there teeth out, well what did they do in the old days. I would do the same if we had no access to dentists lol

ALWAYS dilute peroxide with water! Couple years ago i had a abscess burst (worst experience ever) cause I thought the pain was my wisdom teeth coming in. I rinsed with peroxide but wasn’t aware you need to dilute it, the next morning my mouth was raw. One of the best things I've ever used for a toothache and abscess is Turmeric combined with black pepper usually a tea spoon of both with a gulp of water and just rinse it around teeth for 20 minutes soon as I spat it out the toothache had gone and the abscess was diminished, the black pepper enhances Turmerics affect but just on its own it's probably the best anti inflammatory and bacteria fighting agent of nature

I've been having some bad toothaches too, and right now at the moment I'm dealing with myself as well, fighting depression here and there sometimes, it's so hard to even bring myself to the dentist because I'm scared and ashamed, its just a different feeling to deal with and its so hard when your alone. IF YOU EVER HAVE TEETH PAIN!! Clove oil might help you. Especially in the mouth. My partner had a horrific dental surgery and was prescribed Vicodin and could feel the nerve pain through everything they took for it. Nothing helped and we thought it was hopeless. But we were recommended clove oil by a friend and it made the recovery process endlessly better. Please please if you have an inability to take the meds they prescribe, definitely look into it. It also helps with gums and lots of different mouth issues. I hope that this comment will save even just 1 person from that kind of pain especially when the medical systems fail us.

My uncle had a stroke because of an infection in his brain caused by an infection spreading from his mouth, he had an infected tooth and ignored it and didn't do anything out of fear, and it spread and almost killed him

Just thought I'd share this in case it might help someone else. I have a broken molar, the top right one in the back. The pain is excruciating! I've already been dealing with these weird headaches I get where I have sensitive spots or knots all over my scalp. I press on them to try and ease the pain. Well, I ended up pressing right in front of the tragus part of the ear and it somehow eases the pain from my broken tooth! It isn't gone, but it's definitely better for a little while.

I am not a dental or medical professional in any way. So obviously I can't argue against her advice or advise you myself about dental and/or medical issues. But I can tell you what did and did not work for me when I had really bad tooth pain. The cold compress was a horrible idea at that time, it caused the pain to increase exponentially. I didn't make it 2 minutes before I had to remove it, the pain was so unbearable. It caused non-stop, excruciating throbbing until the sensation of coldness completely subsided, immediately followed up by a rigorous swishing of lukewarm water in that area of my mouth. After that the pain came in waves. Some mild, others intense. Every time from that point on whenever I felt pain I would swish with room temp water and the pain would calm down for a few minutes until the next wave came along. Three miserable nights of that. Something that worked surprisingly well in relieving pain, however, was exercise. Physical activity in general, really. After a few minutes of throbbing at the start of an hour and a half workout the pain completely vanished, even when I would consciously think about it. It wasn't even tender to the touch anymore. And the pain stayed away for hours afterward too. Something as simple as taking a shower or doing laundry kept the pain at bay while I was involved in the respective activity, for the most part. Again, I'm just a dude on the internet and not someone who should really be giving advice. Go to the dentist, perio is a horrible horrible diease.

I have an abscess and my dr gave me amoxicillin until Monday when my dentist can see me.. but I have a fever and the abscess is swelling my face.. should I go to the hospital or will the amoxicillin be enough until I see my doctor?

I have abscess and I have to wait 3 weeks to see a dentist. I got antibiotic from urgent care but after 5 day it’s still infected and I have temperature of 99.9 and diarrhea and a line on my neck, this is so scary

A few years ago I chipped a tooth eating m&ms and afterwards I had pain that was so bad I couldn’t sleep at night because the pain made me restless. I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while and this pain was so intense that I finally looked into finding a dentist and I was able to find a dentist that accepted my insurance. When I went in and they did the exam, that tooth where I felt pain and the tooth next to it needed root canals. I had the root canals done and felt so much better.

I was in so much pain last night I came here to read comments. What I used was ground cloves because I did not have the oil. I just put a little in my hand then licked it up with the tip of my tongue and because it’s was wet and turned into a paste from my saliva I just applied it to the area with my tongue making sure it got inside to where the nerve was. I repeated this 3 times to make sure the surrounding area got numb too. The pain subsided in less than five minutes and I was able to fall to sleep. It was full blown throbbing with a pounding headache I seriously could not even think. Pain pills did not work but this did. I hope this helps someone out there!❤❤❤

some word of advice from a previous episode years ago.I ignored a toothache pain was so bad at time I braced a door till pain went away. I guess the infection went to my heart giving me myocarditis scary. My heart went pulsating and my mind thought I was having a heart attack. Cold sweats and panic ,horrible anxiety to the point I had to jump out of the car and walk around the block. Pulled tooth and got meds for Myocarditis all went away after three weeks.

Started first session of my root canal treatment last week. Had sleepless nights for two weeks because of throbbing pain, which felt like two years. The pulp was disinfected and then sealed with a temporary filling until the next session. I experienced relief for a whole week, but woke up with excruciating pain that has me wanna kill myself. My dentist says we need to expose the nerve more before cleaning the canals. All I can think of is : this pain will never go away, I am crippled and damned for life. Feeling extremely hopeless.

The most effective solution is mask the turmeric and virgin coconut oil make it like a paste, then put some paste on the broken tooth or damage tooth and gums ideally in the evening..when u wake up in the morning the pain will gone and and it restores the broken tooth

If you have an abscessed tooth, please do not rinse with salt water. I did this and instantly regretted it. It will make your gum and infected area raw and throb.. I believe it made my toothache worse for about a week of excruciating pain. Be careful with some of these remedies they aren't for everyone. I'm just telling from my experience only.

Listerine does help me because of the numbing effect it gives.. I swish a little AROUND it, not directly on it.. and I know it sounds awful.. for me... It will throb and still hurt for about 15 minutes but then the pain leaves for a couple of hours, so it's worth it. I have an exposed nerve in the back and this helped my pain when nothing else would. I would never tell someone to put liquid directly on an infected tooth or absess, but swishing around it for a couple minutes did help me. I do carry Listerine in case I need it until I can get it pulled. And ibuprofen 3 times a day for swelling.. stay ahead of the swelling, it's the main reason for most of the pain. Try at your own risk! My experience only.

Update: I found a little dental kit at Walmart "Natural Eugena oil" (clove oil) with a tweezer & cotton balls inside. One dab of this and I was completely numb, it has been like gold for me. I've heard about it for several years, finally found & tried it. Works very well, more than anything.

Tiny sips of cold water in a sports flask squirted at the tooth did it for me. Had to repeat three times a minute, but I was desperate anyway so just knocking down the pain was enough for me until I got to the dentist the next day.
