What's great about Becky's story is that she was never even supposed to get as big as she is now! Kinda have to thank ol' Nia Jax for busting her face open that night and giving us that amazing shot of Becky's face drenched in blood! The MAN was born!
@tyrone59692 жыл бұрын
Has they're ever been a more profitable botch that's made a bigger star? It became part of Austin's mythology and validated his toughness, but he was already climbing up the cards by then, and was having an amazing program with Owen. What happened with Becky came COMPLETELY out of nowhere, and made her one of the biggest stars in the industry, full stop. She's obviously not Stone Cold, but she's one of the most visible, famous, charismatic, and successful performers of a generation. Her being a British woman makes it that much more amazing.
@sassou85842 жыл бұрын
@@tyrone5969 She was already the most over person on the roster BEFORE Nia broke her nose. Listen to the crowd when she turns on Charlotte at SummerSlam or when she won the last woman standing match at Evolution. She got EDGE booed out of the building when WWE was still trying to turn her heel. People try to re-write history to make it looks like she was an overnight sensation, but she wasn't. The rise of the MAN culminated with that bloody shot, but it was a long built, despite WWE having nothing to do with it.

@@tyrone5969 sorry to burst the bubble but she’s from Limerick in Ireland. So much as we like to claim her like we claim Sheamus, or Finn Balor they’re definitely not British stars.

In regards of Michael Cole - Never forget that it was him calling Mankind's Title Win. "MANKIND HAS ACHIEVED HIS DREAM AND THE DREAM OF ANYONE WHO'S EVER BEEN TOLD 'YOU CAN'T DO IT!'" I find it kinda amusing how often that quite iconic Attitude Era Call gets completely ignored - I think mainly because it WASN'T a JR or King but a Cole call and for some giving him that might make it harder to crap on Cole.

@BasementBubbatunde2 жыл бұрын
Glad to see someone else say Dean. All I see nowadays is everyone claiming they all saw Dean as the leader of the shield, the one with the biggest ceiling etc. Yet I don't remember any of that in the slightest when they were a thing. Seth was the extremely atheltic crowd popping one, Roman was the Bulldozer and Dean was the gritty "down and dirty" kind of dude and there was no true leader. I'm happy he's had the success he had but out of those 3 he was easily number 3 as far as people talking about him "making it" go.

Foley should be number 1. He's the guy that is the most unlike what Vince thinks of as a marketable wrestler. Even Danielson was more his style, just smaller than the ones he had in mind since he was muscular and talented, but Foley only had his charisma and sheer guts.

Becky feeling behind the super models or athletes is a heck of a thing. She's the ideal of both those worlds when combined. Glad she was able to climb to the top like how she has.

I am someone that values storylines over matches and in-ring psychology over highspots and I think Bryan Danielson will go down as my favourite wrestler of all time. It helps that he also seems like genuinely good person.

Why not both matches AND storylines?? Psychology AND flippy shit??
@RipperJack772 жыл бұрын
@@isabellamorris7902 Well usually you are not gonna get everything. Especially psychology and flippy shit are hard to combine. The reason why I rate Danielson so high is because anything he is involved in gets good matches, storyline and psychology which is rare. Few wrestlers are such a guarantee for quality

I would out AJ Lee instead of Becky. She came in an era in which WWE hired women based on modeling experience and looks. She was told various times that she wasn't hot enough to be a WWE diva, yet she proved them all wrong and became the best divas champion in history.

The Undertaker. In that era, gimmicks like that didnt last. Ole Anderson even said he would never get over when he was in WCW (yes I know how Ole can be). Even Vince said he 'just looks like a big redheaded basketball player". Anyone being sattled with that would have failed. Considering he went on to be the greatest character in all of wrestling, I think he takes this easily.
