Funny story about Booker. Post WWE he was traveling around with TNA and they did a show not far from where I was. He was the heel and I can’t for the life of me remember who he was wrestling, but I was heckling him the entire match. Eventually he came to the rail and invited me over. Told me if I took one step towards the ring he was gonna beat my privileged ass. He won the match locked eyes with me and did not break it until he went to the back. After the show the guys came back out to sign autographs. Guess who came out and made his way towards me. He thanked me for heckling him. Said it made the match more fun for him. And I always thought that was so cool.

HAHA ! Thats awesome ! Reminds me of when i sat front row as a kid , main event was Mr. Perfect vs Warrior . Curt got clotheslined over the top rope , rotaded backwards an his arm slung over the gaurd rail knocking my drink out of my hand . i yell " Hey man !!!! " he looks right at me and says " F*ck you ! You retarded Sh*thead ! " I was stunned !!! After the match he walked by me and winked at me with a half smirk while holding his head selling so no one could see !

The Bushwackers could easily have been on this list too. From bloody matches as The Sheepherders to wacky walks to the ring and licking peoples faces.
@MrBeardsley2 жыл бұрын
What’s funny is it wasn’t Luke and Butch who gave The Sheepherders their reputation as ultraviolent brawlers, it was Luke and a dude named Lord Jonathan Boyd. Butch left the act in the early ‘80s due to homesickness and burnout, so Luke started teaming with Boyd mostly in the Southeast territories and Puerto Rico. That was the duo that had those brutal matches with The Fabulous Ones in the CWA. A couple years into their run Boyd got sidelined with a broken leg, so Butch came back and fully embraced the new element of their gimmick. Fun fact, at one point The Sheepherders spent like 18 months working in Puerto Rico, so they gave Boyd and mutual friend Rip Morgan permission to take bookings as The Sheepherders in the US until they came back.
@BiggieTrismegistus2 жыл бұрын
@@MrBeardsley I didn't know that about Butch not being part of the original violent Sheepherders. One of the funniest moments in wrestling I've ever seen is when Bushwhacker Luke came out for the Royal Rumble one year. He (Bushwhacker) walked down the aisle and hopped into the ring. Earthquake immediately grabbed from behind, (Bushwhacker) walked Luke across the ring and pitched him over the top rope. Luke landed on his feet and Bushwhacker walked straight to the back. It was hilarious.

People poke fun at Jim Duggan's character but I think there's always a place in wrestling for less serious characters (Norman Smiley is one of my all-time favorite wrestlers). People say it makes wrestling look silly but pro wrestling is inherently silly. That's not meant to be a knock because I love me some pro graps, but it _is_ pretty silly when you think about it. Plus, the crowd will get worn out if all they see is super-intense badasses. A lighthearted moment lets them reset before they move back into the more serious dramatic stuff.

Bob Backlund is such a nice person. I remember when I went to a book signing for his autobiogrophy, he actual gave those that bought the book a business card with his phone number, since he wanted feedback on the book. My brother and I also got photos of ourselves being put in the Cross Face Chicken Wing. You could tell that if he actually put more pressure on it than he did, it would actually freaking hurt. Backlund was definitely in on the joke. His whole gimmick during his return was that he was annoyed by how the guys getting the cheers were guys like Austin who were using what used to be heel tactics. He decided he didn't want to be anything other than a white meat baby face and realised at the time that behaviour would be booed, so he became a heel by being a good guy.

Anyone can open hand slap soma one unconscious. It's all where you hit. I spent 20 years bouncing before my retirement 2 years ago and I have plenty of slap knockouts. It's axtually way easier than using a fist. Your first is smaller. It's just science. I even have a video of one of my best slapouts on my phone currently. It really isn't that hard. When you slap make sure the bottom of your hand is in line with the bottom of the person's jaw and if they're not on coke or blackout drunk they go down.
@BiggieTrismegistus2 жыл бұрын
That kind of blow to jaw twists the head and actually makes the brain bounce off the inside of the skull. The brain deals much better with frontal impacts (like being punched straight in the nose) so they're much less likely to knock someone out. If you watch enough boxing and/or MMA you'll notice that straight punches pretty much never cause one punch knockouts. Those come from hooks and uppercuts (which also jar the brain in a way it doesn't handle well).
